   I had the pleasure of having a wonderful brunch experience at Bills restaurant recently and I can't stop raving about it! From the delicious food to the friendly service, everything was just perfect. But what really made my day was the exceptional service provided by our lovely waitress, Sam. Not only was she attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, but she also went above and beyond to make sure our furry friend was comfortable and happy. Sam's warm and welcoming attitude towards our dog made us feel like we were part of the family. It's rare to find a restaurant that is so accommodating to pets, and Bills truly impressed us with their pet-friendly policy. As for the food, it was hearty and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying the pancakes - they were fluffy and moist, and the maple syrup was the perfect complement. The avocado toast was also amazing, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Everything was fresh and well-seasoned, and it was obvious that a lot of care and attention went into each dish. Overall, I had an amazing time at Bills and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great brunch spot. And if you're lucky enough to have Sam as your waitress, you're in for an extra special treat!

   We’ve eaten at other Bill’s over the years & the food has been excellent. Last night was very disappointing. The food was very mediocre & expensive for what we had. Charging £17.50 for a seafood linguine with overcooked pasta, 3 prawns & 4 bits of squid is a bit much!

   lovely lovely food, options you don’t really find anywhere else! Service was good and we didn’t have a long wait. Gluten free options are plentiful so we were really impressed.

   The food was lovely - we all enjoyed starters I had the burrata which I could easily have shared. My husband had 2 large saugers wrapped in bacon as the pigs in blankets and our son had the garlic flatbread which was v fresh. For mains my husband and I had the Santa stack burger which was great. Our son had the kids burger. The service was great a charming gentleman with shoulder length hair.

    We went for lunch on my wife’s birthday, and chose Bill’s because the menu offered plenty of choice. On arrival we were sat in a really nice location, and the service was warm, friendly and perfectly balanced in favour of attentive versus intrusive. The food was serviced quickly, and it was excellent. We had a lovely time.

    Lovely family brunch, we had booked a table for 6 and arrived with an extra diner. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The lady serving us was really attentive I wish we had gotten her name to mention her in person. Food was excellent and arrived in a timely manner. Highly recommend Bills in Newbury.

    Bills were amazing. They coped with our loud and boisterous family gathering of which there were 12 people -including 2 small children and one well-behaved dog. They were as always the BEST place to hold such a family meal...the food is always exemplary, with something for everyone, including a gluten-free and a toddler.....service was discreet and helpful, and the food was prompt and delicious. This is our favorite place to meet up as a family, and can not recommend it highly enough.

    The restaurant is lovely and very clean and a nice place to sit. We were greeted at the host stand and sat immediately at a lovely table. Food was good however not the same menu as on the website - this was an issue for one of the party as they have allergies and hd worked out what they wanted to eat before we came which was not on the menu provided at the restaurant.

    Staff were friendly but service was a little slow. Our main courses were good and sufficient in quantity but I was disappointed with the strawberry cheesecake which was in a small glass pot and seemed little thought had gone into how the cheesecake was put into the pot. I tried Bill’s beer and liked it. I believe that when I booked online I read that a discretionary 10% service charge would be added - when the bill arrived it had 12.5% added. It seemed churlish to ask for the bill to be adjusted for 2.5% on a £50 bill so I did not raise it as an issue. Overall not a bad experience but equally nothing stood out that would make me think that I would prefer Bill’s to any of the other multi site restaurants.

    Always good food but not jaw smackingly memorable. But I would return again. Service was very good. Unfortunately a VERY loud girls night was hived off to one corner but they (well actually only a couple of their party) were still deafeningly loud, laughing and shouting and distracted from our family evening. No attempt made by Bills to ask them to toned in down a touch.

    Really poorly organised. I made the booking a long time ago, I phoned to check which menus we could order from in advance, I sent a preorder over a week before the booking, I phoned to check it had been received and there were no problems. However, when we arrived, we were told there would be a significant delay as the lunch time menu (which as above I had checked we could order from) wasn’t available until later and they couldn’t start even cooking until a certain time. The food quality was also poor with 2 people having to send theirs back as the steak was cold . Some of the orders were also incorrect. It was also booked for my friends hen do and so it was a shame the experience was so terrible.

    Every month I look forward to the Farmers Market on a Sunday followed by breakfast out. Often I choose Bill's in Newbury for my breakfast treat. Last Sunday however was definitely not a treat. I ordered traditional breakfast with a side of black pudding and a glass of orange juice. I had two requests 1) No ice in the orange juice and 2) that the roasted tomato be fully cooked and soft. When the juice arrived it had ice in it, so I sent it back. When it returned it looked like somebody had just stuck their fingers in the juice and pulled the cubes out. When the breakfast arrived the tomato, far from being roasted, was raw. When I mentioned this to the server she said "sorry" and wandered off. Don't get me wrong I like raw tomato, just as part of a salad, not for breakfast. This also happened a few years ago but then the manager took my plate away and came back with cooked tomato and after that each time I came in he would mention that he would ensure the tomato was cooked. Looks like management has changed. It was not just about the tomato. The sausage seemed to have a lot of rusk in it giving it an unpleasant spongy texture. The black pudding was tasteless and the sour dough toast should have been described as slightly warmed bread as it did not look like it had ever been near a grill or toaster. It seems to me that Bill's are trying to maintain a price point at the expense of portion size and quality. Yet still add the "optional" service charge on the bill. I have been going to Bill's in Newbury since it first opened, however if this is now the standard I won't be going back.

    Some of our order was missed initially but they put that right quickly. We're offered olives and bread for the table, came back with one small plate of 6 olives dip and flatbread. Not what we were expecting for a table of 6. The food was nice. Mostly though, we were sat near the bar and every 30 seconds everyone jumped as the staff threw the glass bottles into a bottle bin. Quite disruptive and noisey. We didn't have dessert as we wanted to leave for some peace and quiet. Shame.

    Popped in for a last minute family meal and so happy we chose Bills. Sat outside while viewing menu and were taken care of with warm blankets, drinks and smiley waiter. When table ready, order taken promptly, another super cheerful staff member made us feel so welcome. Food arrived quickly and the starters were outstanding, crunchy crab cake/balls with delicious coriander sauce and indulgent dollop of lobster mayo. Son had the dumplings and declared them best ever eaten, Mains arrived again very quickly perfectly cooked generous portions. Husband adored the buttermilk chicken burger, son couldn’t get enough of the gold plated burger and we fought over the chipotle mayo. Somehow we then ordered puddings and after 2 amazing banofee splits and an innovative Elton colada were so full we could hardly move. 100% satisfaction.

    Service from arrival and greeting, to exit was excellent. Very professional and friendly staff. All the staff knew their roles and worked seamlessly together. Despite being a busy time the staff all seemed calm. Special mention to Jade for attentiveness and positivity. Very refreshing to see great customer service in action.
