   This was our favorite restaurant to celebrate birthdays, anniversary and other occasions. We had not been back since new ownership and were throughly impressed. Our server Grayson was expectorional and took very good care of us. Thank you all for our great dining experience and we definitely be back for all our celebrations.

   A lovely evening! We were seated in the bar with the piano and the ambiance was wonderful. The pianist provided just the right musical choices at just the tight volume. The generous table spacing allowed easy conversation. Our server was lovely. Knew her menu and offered knowledgeable input. The fresh catch of the day was halibut and the preparation was included a mango salsa that was complimentary to the fish. The rack of lamb was perfectly prepared and the spinach gnocchi with burst cherry tomatoes was outstanding. All around an wonderful evening

   We celebrated a birthday. We were seated in room opposite piano- Garden Cafe? There was only one table of 4 in same room so the noise level was comfortable! We enjoyed a lively meal ( filet mignon and the market fish! and our server was excellent. Our entrees was absolutely perfect. Thank you for a memorable evening.

   Our first visit wad to take advantage of the Bijou Gardens Mother's Day brunch. We arrived early so took a seat at the bar. The bartenders were so attentive and accommodating that we decided to eat at the bar Food was great, ambience very nice and service was fantastic. Great choice, I scored points!

    The food was totally bland - the vegan medley was cooked too much The rack of lamb had too much fat and very little meat and for $42 it is a shame The waitress was friendly but not really professional - she never asked how was our food or if we needed anything The bus boy took our entrees plates - our waitress never saw that we sent our plates with 1/2 food left!! Very poor quality food which was surprising from this restaurant - we had good experiences before We will not be back

    Loved this restaurant. Great atmosphere and service. The live music and excellent female singer added to the ambiance. My husband had the carbonara, which was outstanding. I had the grouper which was fresh and well prepared. It was a little bland for me, but was enhanced by the roasted sweet potatoes.

    Went on a Wednesday at 5 and it was empty so service was great! Our waiter was very pleasant. As for the food the filet was over cooked, not seasoned and honestly tasted horrific. The scallops were good, not amazing but good. The bread was the best thing we ate.

    Very small pour( maybe 4 oz.) for wine by the glass. Very small potion for lamb chop - 2 ribs for $42.00. Is it really necessary for a nice restaurant to be so chintzy?

    Have not been to Bijou since Covid. Very nice renovations make the dining rooms very comfortable. Food and service were great. Some really creative dishes on the menu. Food has always been a bit expensive and remains so. But you can always be assured of a great meal. My favorite restaurant in this area!

    I had the scallops which were excellent in taste. They were not as warm as I think they should be. It seems as if the meal was prepared and allowed to sit before serving.This is a disappointment since we always get a good meal. Am wondering if maybe they are doing this as they serve meals before events at the Opera House.

    Been here many times when we come into town. Didn’t like the new seating arrangements. Liked the quiet bar. Also not enough seafood selections on the menu. Only one fish. Not sure it will be a top pick anymore

    Once again Bijou Cafe came through with terrific food and great ambiance. Even though the restaurant was not full on a Tuesday night, there was still a great feeling as a customer that you were special. While restaurant prices have spiked considerably, Cafe Bijou prices only increased modestly over the past year. It is our go to place for birthdays, anniversaries and other special events. Highly recommended.

    Tables are quite close together. Service is excellent, I ordered tequila shrimp and was not a good choice...small and tough shrimp. But my husband's duck was perfect. So a mixed menu.

    El restaurante está situado es un lugar perfecto si planeas ir a la ópera. Para haber sido en sus orígenes una gasolinera, el local ha sido decorado y reconstruido con encanto y buen gusto. De corte refinado y atractivo invita a comer sin reparos . La comida, adolece de calidad básica. Pedimos el pescado del día. Para nuestro deleite tenían Mero, un producto que apenas necesita tocarse para que sea un éxito. Tristemente el tiempo de cocción fue excesivo y estaba reseco . La guarnición eran unos vegetales sin ningún sabor con patatas dulces sin terminar de cocinar. Si hay un vegetal o tubérculo agradecido al horno ese es la patata dulce . Con un buen tiempo de cocción queda firme en el exterior y suave en el interior. Estas estaban duras. Casi crudas. El mango de la salsa tampoco ayudaba a salvar el plato pues estaba verde. Un total fiasco. La otra persona en nuestra mesa pidió pollo. Sencillamente un plato impresentable. Sobre una guarnición de orzo, Que parecía más bien un revuelto de orzo que no tenía el pesto anunciado ni la mozzarella que decía la descripción . Sin sabor y la consistencia de la pechuga del pollo dura y también seca. Los camareros hacen lo mejor que pueden y se ven no tienen escuela. Nadie en un restaurante d esta categoría te alcanza las bebidas a través de la mesa, ni tocan las copas con sus manos. Por favor, cobren pero no timen. Ofrezcan comida con la calidad que merece un comensal.

    One of the very best -- and quietly understated -- restaurants in Sarasota. Ambiance is exceptional, and the food is prepared perfectly. Interesting menu with good variety but limited enough that everything can be excellent. Relaxed pacing and outstanding service.

    Our dinners were excellent. The salmon and scallop entrees were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Grayson was our waiter and could not have been more efficient, personable, and knowledgeable. We sat on the patio in the shade and while we have streets on both sides of us, the ambiance was just fine. The future plans for a new patio in the back away from the traffic will be a great addition.

    Everything about last nights dining experience was outstanding. I should also mention that "Peter" the valet parking attendant was very polite and very professional. There is only one item that deserves consideration by both the Chef and Management. That is the RETURN of the delicious ONION SOUP which for many years was a fixture on the Menu.

    Another great evening at Bijou Garden Cafe. We took some friends who had never been and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. We all had a variety of entrees, Salmon, Scallops, Short Ribs, and all were excellent. We had a nice bottle of wine to go with dinner and we enjoyed that as well. One of our guests had the strawberry shortcake for dessert and he thought it was fabulous. Great job!
