Dropped a star for deserts. My second visit and second time I was sorry I had desert. Everything else was perfect. Lovely ambience, great staff. Delicious starters and mains. Will absolutely be back
Delicious food, felt a bit rushed, overall a lovely evening
Two of us got mussels for starters, they were very nice. Well seasoned and nice bread for dipping. The Melba toast served with the pate wasn’t great, so we ordered different bread, which was much better.
The chicken main was not great. The chicken was over cooked, by some amount. Also the risotto was too mushroom and butter heavy, more rice and less butter would improve this dish. I would estimate that I ate one third of my main course, which was disappointing. The fish main was very nice, tasty sauce, well presented and the potatoes were very nicely cooked.
Our bill had to be issued to us three times as they over charged us twice. This ended off the meal badly. This wasn’t my first time here but it’s unlikely I will return. Disappointing as I moved into the neighborhood.
Always have a great night in Bijou. Food, wine, Service, ambience excellent.
Had a lovely lunch in Bijou. Food was lovely and the service was prompt and efficient. They have a really good value set menu with a range of options and had nice specials as well outside of the set and a la carte menu options. We will definitely be back.
Had a quiet birthday brunch on a Sunday in Jan 2020. Very nice restaurant, good service, good food. I would recommend this bistro.
The food was outstanding. I had the fish; both it and it's accompaniments were amazing. My companions' had steak which looked delicious.
I will be back again, and again.
we really enjoyed our dinner new year’s eve food was excellent and fantastic staff I have been going to Bijou for many years and would highly recommend love going there
thanks for lovely meal we will be back
Excellent food and service, considering it was new years eve with the staff under pressure. I had featherblade beef which was outstanding. 100% to all staff at Bijou Bistro
A super Post Christmas Dinner. The Service was very friendly and efficient. Just loved the Beef Cheek Burger. A nice couple of glasses of the good selection of house wine. Good value and great food
Very enjoyable meal ! Good food and good service ! Definitely recommend to friends and family.
We ask for a nice table and got one. Food was good, service was prompt but staff were not as friendly as they could have been. Weren’t rude but seemed preoccupied- it’s almost Christmas so maybe they were tired.
My napkin was folded on the table after the first course which was messy to eat- mussels- and they gave a wash bowl but I needed a new napkin was forthcoming. Has I asked I’m sure I would have got it but that lack of attentiveness makes for a 3 star review
Exceptional food, service and ambience. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic Experience at this long standing Dublin Food Institution!
Staff were extremely efficient & professional.
Excellent Neighborhood “early bird “ menu .
Will be back again
Great Brunch, nice comfortable atmosphere.
Food was excellent. Got a little noisy but I guess you have to expect that in the Xmas season. Will definitely be back - next week in fact :)
Excellent food at lunchtime and great service from very friendly staff.
Delicious Dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the energetic atmosphere. I had a delicious Duck Salad to start followed by John Dory. Outstanding, all my colleagues thoroughly enjoyed too.
Wine list is well priced and Service really friendly but not overbearing. Just a great night out
Always excellent , could not pass it - consistently fabulous experience on all fronts
We had a fabulous night on Monday. Everything was spot on. Lovely Food and very friendly servers. Great selection
Overall would recommend. The pheasant I had was a little overdone and tough and Mary Berry wouldn’t be happy with that tarte Tatum and soggy bottom !! I would have expected a crisp puff instead of regular tart pastry which was very wet and soft
I asked for a certain table at window area when booking and did not get it. I was placed down at kitchen area which was too warm. I asked for the particular table because I was there before and knew what the place was like. The food was ok found the portions to be small. Wine was expensive house red 27 euro was the cheapest. Ok you cut the prices but the portions are also cut.
Bijou is a lovely restaurant in Rathgar however food is simply average , you can easily find the exact same menu in other restaurants / bistro at lower prices .
Wine list is also average and wine prices are expensive compared to winery places even.
I shared a warm duck salad as a starter and received the usual mixed leaves salad with some duck pieces, not warm for sure.
As a main course I opted for John Dory since it seemed appealing but again it was a massive chunch of fish, dry, served with tiny prawns and mash potatoes.
Dessert was great, tarte tatin.
Overall I'm quite disappointed.
Disappointed they were unable to make me the salad option leaving out my food intolerances.
Delicious dinner. Opted for Rib eye this evening which was cooked to perfection. I really enjoy the warm atmosphere in this restaurant
All the staff were very attentive and nice! We came in a really big group! But it worked out really well.
The atmosphere was really good! Some of the food was very tasty and presented really well.
Lovely neighborhood restaurant. Great service. Food good to very good, but not memorable.
Great Dinner with work colleague. I really enjoyed the John Dory and my colleague had Beef. Lovely atmosphere and lovely service.
Great meal. Delightful Service. Just love this place.
We had booked a table for 4 people on Sat Nov 16th, I have previously eaten in this restaurant many times & have really enjoyed the food & ambiance.
However this occasion the service was really poor, the plates were flung at us & we were kept waiting between our starters & mains. Two of us had the featherblade of beef which has been delicious in the past, however this instance the beef was incredibly tough & had too much grisliness (it was more like stewing beef). One of the party felt ill over the next 24 hours which we put down to the beef...To be honest we all agreed that this may have been an "off day" as I said we have been here many times before & have really enjoyed it... but unfortunately this experience would make me second guess returning again in the near future.
Beautifully cooked and presented meal. Honey cake highly recommended.
Consistently good food presented very nicely. Service was top class and food choice covers all palates. I feel that the lighting could be a little less subdued, we all had difficulty reading the menu.
Fabulous food and fabulous service. However, the owner has some crazy ideas on lighting. One cannot read the menus or even see the food at night. Nonsensical.
Food was amazing and menu superb.
This eoukd be one of my favoirite restaurants in Dublin.
You just cannot fault this restaurant. The food is excellent, always hot and delicious. The service is second to none. We look forward to our weekly visit to this restaurant. Their Neighbourhood Menu is great and offers a great selection to suit everyone. Certainly worth a visit. I would give it 10/10 everytime! Thanks Bijou
Great Food and Great Service. Always a great atmosphere.
Super Bank holiday lunch. We selected from the set menu. We found there was a good range and both meals were excellent.
This is a great Neighbourhood restaurant near to us. The food is always top class with great flavour combinations. We were recommended a lovely glass of red to accompany our meal. The only downside was a large noisy table arrived which meant it was hard to chat as my husband doesn’t hear well well in this environment but other than that a great meal and experience as always.
A very good meal but service was on the slow side. When the manager was made aware of this he immediately sprung into action. First apologising and then providing coffee and complimentary drinks which was excessive but well received
Unfortunately while the waitstaff wearing uniforms were lovely, a gentleman in a pink shirt who greeted us at the entrance and took our orders was abrupt and less than friendly. The food was fine, but not fantastic. Perhaps we didn’t choose well. All in all I’m disappointed but glad we tried it out first as I had intended to book the venue for a christening.
