Awesome! Not sure what made it better, the scenery on the river, the amazing food, or the waiter, MICHAEL. If possible request him!!! He was awesome. His recommendations were spot on and not pushy, just very accurate! Great food, wine, view. Triple crown winner and if you get Michael you may not eat anywhere else while in San Antonio.
Dinner with my daughters for spring break. The food was great. - We will visit again when we are in town.
Overall very good, a bit pricey but we know that going in.
We had a great experience
Excellent all around! Great food, appropriate prices, spectacular service and local ingredients. Great bar menu too.
Best meal in San Antonio
Great restaurant with a nice food selection which were prepared with much attention to detail. Food was fantastic, wine was great but service was superb! Thank you Michael!
Good experience, but disappointed that both draft beer taps were not working. Might consider adding more taps to keep the draft beer flowing.
Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. It was a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. I recommend the Mahi Mahi... it was amazing!!!
Biga on the Banks never disappoints as it is consistently excellent.
The food, service and location was fantastic. Imaginative and large portions (consider 1/2 size if you don't eat too much). Our server overheard me say Happy Birthday to my friend and she brought over a dessert with a candle in it-- very attentive service. Highly recommend.
The food was absolutely delicious, but the service was lacking. Our waiter was largely inattentive and when he did come by our table, he was incredibly rude. We were disappointed by this experience because we’d heard such great things about the restaurant from friends.
Food was delicious and each dish unique in taste, ingredients and presentation. Brittney was outstanding server - informed, friendly and prompt. Atmosphere on Riverwalk was sooo romantic and warmly comfortable.
The food was excellent, the service was superior and the ambiance was lovely. The staff made our anniversary dinner an “over the top” experience. We plan to return soon. Thanks Biga!
Great spot and excellent food. The Scallops were phenomenal and the Quail mouthwatering. My only critical comment would be that they don't use linen table cloths. I would think a restaurant with the caliper of cuisine and the attention to detail on service would have that. Otherwise outstanding.
Terrific menu recommendations and wine recommendations from Thomas our waiter. He was very pleasant and fun for interaction. Had to "talk" ourselves into an empty window table with hostess.
We loved every bite! It was indescribable how excellent the food was. Thank you for a memorable 35th anniversary.
Fabulous meal and staff! Inside was noisy so we sat outside and it did get chilly but our waiter served us dessert and coffee inside. Very accomodating!
outstanding dining experience with great service and ambience!!
Service was great - after polling our tastes, our server made some suggestions for appetizers that were spot on. Great and varied menu - plenty of game, not stuff you see on every menu. Very nice wine list, not too pricey unless you went very high end. Wonderful views of the Riverwalk and the colored boats going by. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Celebrating an anniversary, had a gift certificate for 75 dollars. Started off with the salmon nachos which were the highlight of the entire evening, followed by an 8 oz beef tenderloin and a rack of lamb both cooked medium rare. Both extremely flavorful and tender and were paired with royal mushroom and asparagus saute. For dessert we shared the sampler, the sticky toffee pudding stood out from the rest and was deliciously paired with a double espresso served in a very nice glass. Thank you Biga for making the night very special and unforgettable. We hope to be back soon.
We had been here in 2011 and were so excited to return, as
we do not live in San Antonio. Brittany was our waitress, and
made the occasion very special. We had a quiet table in the corner,
allowing for a nice visit. Great that many of the main dishes were
half portions, as my companion had three of these half portions and
loved them all. Thanks for the wonderful time.
I was celebrating my two year dating anniversary and it was our proposal night. I had proposed earlier that evening while on the San Antonio Riverwalk.
We were having a progressive dinner night and had appetizers and drinks at one location, dinner at another, and dessert at Biga on the Banks. The Sticky toffee pudding Biga’s signature dessert, did not disappoint and was delicious, except maybe in size. There was not much but for 1 bite for 5 people to share. The chocolate Molten Cake was disappointing. What should have been a warm cake with warm chocolate center, came strait out of the fridge. The Bourbon Pecan Pie was the surprise hit and was oh so yummy and the favorite of the table.
The Irish coffee was divine and hit the spot.
The atmosphere is very cozy and rich, with earthy elements in the plethora of decorative gourdes. The waitstaff was attentive and very hospitable. I would definitely like to try Biga on the Banks for dinner.
I've dined all over San Antonio for business and this was likely the best meal I've had anywhere. If you are tired of the typical Tex-Mex scene, give Biga a try. The chef-owned restaurant changes the menu daily although several favorites remain. The food is locally sourced where possible and creatively prepared and presented. The Texas version of the bouillabaisse was outstanding. Other diners at our table reported similar great food.
Wonderful food great service and a fantastic wine and drink list. Need I say more? Would surely recommend Biga to anyone visiting ST and will be sure to visit on my next trip here.
Warm service, delicious food, interesting menu
Biga On The Banks has been one of my favorites for years. The food is always well prepared, prepared as requested and delicious. The menu changes based on availability of fresh ingredients and has always been impressive. The service is exemplary and customers definitely feel pampered during every visit. I always feel comfortable giving it a high recommendation, particularly for special occasions, and in fact we introduced our son-in-law to it this time, during his business trip to San Antonio.
The server Bo was outstanding. Great eating experience
Dinner was wonderful, great food - service was slow at times
My wife and I celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary with relatives and had a wonderful evening. We drove from Houston and have dined at the restaurant on three different occasions. Will tell our Houston friends about our little secret.
Went to Biga for a birthday dinner and it was a wonderful experience. Our server Thomas was knowledgeable and attentive. Great place for a celebration.
Went to celebrate our anniversary and were very happy with our evening here. The wait staff was very friendly, informative and attentive. The menu offers a great variety and everything we tried was delicious. We will be back again!
Me and my fiancé have dined here before not only was the food excellent the service is beyond exceptional. From a full breakdown of the menu to pairing me with the perfect wine selection our waiter did it all.
Fantastic experience! The whole team is focused on impressing the customers. Will definitely be going back in the future.
Great service and great food. The desserts were amazing!
Amazing waiter, phenomenal flavors, can’t say enough good things about the entire experience
Two co-workers and I visited during a business meeting in San Antonio. We sampled several items and all were delicious. I chose the quail without the venison and it was great. Seasoned and grilled to perfection. Mahi Mahi was delish as well.
Grand Marnier souffle was amazing.
Always a pleasure dining there.
It gave us strong belly aches! We both had different dishes and came home with stomach cramps!
