The food was exceptional and full of flavors! It was cooked to perfection and the service was impeccable. Overall, a perfect experience!
I had a reservation for 9 PM but arrived late, about 9:45 PM. The hostesses could not have been more hospitable. One even gave me directions when I got lost trying to get there. However the waiter seemed annoyed by my late arrival and even insisted I had to place my order that minute even though my husband had not arrived. He got there about 7 minutes later. When I challenged the waiter on that he backed off and became friendlier. Although the whole time his attitude projected a STRONG desire to have his work day over with. He also kept calling me My Lady even though I asked him twice not to. He said he could call me senorita which is funny because I’m 60. He kept calling my husband boss. Sir or ma’am are always acceptable.
We left a 20% tip. I have been a server and typically tip this amount -even in cases like this where the service was lacking or annoying. The food was good- lettuce cups, chicken soup & greens were fantastic. The bread was good but not warm. I would hesitantly recommend the restaurant. One more thing, in general, in the industry I do not understand why servers routinely interrupt people who are involved in a conversation. That is rude behavior. For all his faults, I do not recall our server doing that. Also why do servers ask you how you like the food 90 seconds after they bring it to you? Typically they can see you have not had a chance to try it. Thanks for listening. -Sherry Williams
Celebrating our anniversary and it was the right choice to do that... do not miss out on the restaurant....not your typical Tex-Mex restaurant.
Food, service and drinks amazing. We all did the pre fixe menu, good portion sizes.
Biga is always spectacular. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
Had a wonderful meal every thing was amazing! Service was great and food very tasty!
Delicious food, fresh ingredientes and nice ambience.
Went here for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant was beautiful, our server was absolutely wonderful and highly knowledgeable. The food was melt in your mouth amazing! Wonderful place! Definitely will be going again and absolutely recommend!
Fabulous service! They sat us at a superb table! The only disappointment was the banana coconut sorbet. We found it powdery and icy. It really does not need to be served with such fantastic food. Still an excellent experience.
Booked a corporate dinner for one of our executives. You know it must be great when you get a text while they are dining saying "this place is amazing".
Made reservations to celebrate a friend's birthday. When I arrived, the waiter confirmed we were celebrating a birthday and asked for her name. The waiter was very attentive but not overly so, as we slowly enjoyed our dinner. He offered a taste of wine to help us decide what to choose. We shared appetizers and he helped us determine what to order and when it should come to the table. He made dessert special with a Happy Birthday message and candle. Ever dish was excellent. Biga's is a beautiful restaurant with a view of the San Antonio Riverwalk. We had a table by the window, so we were able to enjoy the view. Although we were not ordering full meals, we never felt rushed or neglected.
Biga is a great dining experience in an area dominated by tourist traps. One gets the sense that the clientele is largely local—this is a place worth driving downtown and finding parking. We are visitors who always come to Biga for the inventive food, attentive service, superb craft cocktails, and views of a quiet stretch of the river through a massive window wall. We worry these days that our pre-pandemic experiences won’t be replicated in our favorite reopened dining places. Wonderful to report that Biga hasn’t lost its standing with us. This remains the best downtown dining. Highly recommended.
Great food, great service.
Mother’s Day brunch with family. Food and service were not as expected. This was our first visit and based on prior information had high expectations that were not met. Not sure if we will return for their regular dinner offerings.
Mother's Day brunch...outstanding! Our server Gabriel was a delight. The staff is very efficient! The chef's menu was superb. We were visiting from Phoenix, but would go back anytime and suggest you all do as well!!
One of THE best restaurants in San Antonio, hands down. Creative, flavorful dishes, great wines and top-flight staff. Always a great night out.
The venison and quail was superb! The primavera Risotto was excellent. Our server was great.
The food was excellent and the water view was beautiful. We dined on the patio. Jose was one of the best waiters we have ever had! The prix fixe menu was a great value!
The best part about this was the seating on a quiet part of the river walk.
Excellent in every way
Great view of the river. Food and service excellent. A wonderful experience.
All was excellent. The South African Chenin Blanc was so nice. Liked I could order a half dinner portion of the shrimp and scallops but my husband enjoyed the full portion on the elegant lamb chops. Do not miss the Sticky Toffee Pudding!!! Atmosphere and service superb. Such a nice evening out.
We will be going for our yearly dinner every year for now on.
Enjoyed our experience and dinner. The Bulgogi appetizer was a little salty perhaps from the soy sauce marinade, but the beet salad was perfectly done. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the Denver cut of beef. Both were good but nothing over the top. As several people mentioned the toffee pudding was very good - unfortunately I was full and unable to finish it all! We ordered craft cocktails and were very pleased.
Our server was attentive without being overly so. Food was delicious. A nice quiet location and romantic setting overlooking the river.
Food was average at best. Customer service was the single greatest dining experience of my life and I would absolutely return for that reason alone. I made my reservation for a week later than the date I had liked but was immediately accommodated without question. The service continued at that level and I am so grateful to the staff for their friendliness and understanding.
I took my wife for her 40th birthday and we absolutely loved it. The staff is extremely courteous, very polite. The food was amazing and the seating was in a private section. I will be going back for other occasions and probably make up an occasion just to eat their. Parking was convenient (validated parking) way to Biga ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great food and ambiance on the river walk, highly recommend
La comida buena, creativa ay buen ambiente que
Delicious lamb, attentive service, wonderful dining experience!
Always a great choice for Downtown dining. Great food, nice setting, and good service. In particular, the Lamb Chops are terrific!
Unique restaurant with special flavors and with the help of our excellent waiter Rudy we were able to enjoy Biga’s best.
fabulous food and service; Rudy was a wonderful waiter! Great decor and fine dining at its best. When we could not get an Uber or Lyft, the lady at the reception gave us a ride by to our hotel-now that is REAL SERVICE!
Delicious food and great service (Kat was our waitress and was extremely attentive and well informed on all aspects of the menu). The prix fixe menu is a good deal for fine dining. We only have two complaints: the music was like slow beat techno pop, which really didn't fit the restaurant decor or atmosphere, and the layout made us feel like we were the only table there in an awkward way - no one likes eating in an empty restaurant.
Great location above the river walk with excellent service. Food was disappointing with a heavy dose of salt on our main courses. Banana Kailua dessert was excellent.
We had a lovely meal on the patio with great service. 100% Would recommend.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Bigas!
Food was delicious, service great and cannot beat the location.
Highly recommend this restaurant!
Exceptionally good. Ambiance, food and service was excellent! Will definitely return!
