Great food and menu, not too often that so many alluring choices make dining decisions difficult. Cannot go wrong with any choice; everything was delicious and prepared as ordered. An absolutely wonderful dining experience, will return every time we visit San Antonio.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend!!!
I left a review on Yelp. It was a lovely experience. Shout out to John, Brittany and Shane for making my birthday celebration memorable!!!
We had Chris as our server for my second anniversary. He made the experience worth our time. The quail and the lamb rack were to die for as well as their pairings. The ingredients are high quality and well utilized.
My favorite part is there is no dress code. We entered (after making a reservation) in pajama pants and hoodies. We were still treated the same and we did not get any odd comments about what we were wearing.
Chris seemed very determined to make our second anniversary the best anniversary.
We will be coming back very soon. I highly recommend.
Outstanding all the way around!
Very average. The service was great and we were treated very nicely. They took care to wish a happy birthday and even brought out a free dessert. The menu was rather odd, lots of Southern food which we aren’t too much a fan of, but we did find things that sounded tasty. We ordered a seafood dish whose name I cannot recall, but it was a soup-like dish. The broth and its components were flavorless... I found myself drowning it in lime and salt. The alioli spread was delicious. I liked the fact that they had cornbread, but I hated that the bread they brought out was COLD! It would have been sooo nice had it been warm bread. Overall, it was decent but not worth the price. Portions are small and desserts are even tinier. There was nothing tasty enough for me to really say I’d come back. Decent place, but not a favorite for us.
Lovely restaurant and excellent service. Food was very good
Eclectic food choices. Loved the Sterling Rose, Snapper, and Figgy Pudding.
Great place for intimate dining.
Nice menu, nice setting!!
This is one of the best restaurants in San Antonio , always creative and talented ! Thank you for an amazing and unforgettable experience !
Jon , Martin, Rene , Kim ! Thank you !
Superb dining experience from start to finish. Menu changes nightly which indicates a creative talent that is not seen inmsny restaurants. Service was perfect. The best dining experience I have had in a long time!
Mushy brussel sprouts, "cheesy grits forgot the cheese, overcooked halibut, awful martini, cauliflower was barely ok. On the plus side, the service was excellent. We complained, sent food back to the kitchen. I felt sorry for the server....not his fault.
Great service and exceptional food. View from the table of the river walk boat parade was very special.
Delicious food and excellent service.
No. While the food was excellent, the service was beyond poor. Our server started out talkative to the point of being irritating and then, early on in the evening, before our appetizers arrived, a flip switched and he wasn't talking to us anymore and BARELY acknowledged us. When the entrees and table sides were brought out, there were no utensils to serve the sides so we immediately asked for serving spoons and one extra side of the cauliflower (it looked and tasted delicious so it was a good call). The new order of cauliflower arrived before the spoons did. I finally went to the bar as asked for serving spoons. Then when he cleared the table we asked for another bottle of wine and the dessert menu. 10 minutes later he comes back with the wine list and no dessert menus. I happened to catch a hostess in the ladies room and shared my concerns with her. It wasn't until then that our server seemed to pep up and get back in the game. He did let us know that he had been arguing with the chef for 29 minutes over a cookie for a boy at another table?? 1) That's not our problem 2) Why would you share that with us? It seems wildly unprofessional all the way around. 3) His poor service was for much longer than 29 minutes. We had a 7PM reservation and didn't leave the restaurant until after 10:30PM. Food was good but the service was a real disappointment - especially when you're with customers and all of you are in the hospitality industry.
Haven’t been here in years. It seems the restaurant has gotten too big and more machine driven versus an intimate setting.
We went for our anniversary. Had a great time with amazing food. Can't say enough good things about Biga.
Service outstanding and very personal.. Lamb chops a definite choice. Wine by the glass a very healthy pour. Coming from Chicago for a conference, a worthy choice for dining
Amazing food and service
Excellent service & the food was outstanding. We had wonderful appetizers, meals & desserts. We highly recommend this restaurant. Our table was next to the window that looked down on the Riverwalk, which was an added bonus.
Great food, we had chicken fried oysters as our starter and the the mahi mahi and halibut for entrees, all were delicious. Our server Ben was perfect, friendly but not intrusive. A wonderful dinner on the river. Will return the next time we're in San Antonio.
Good service and excellent food..explained menu well and made real good suggestions on certain items on menu since it changes on a daily basis
Chris was our waiter and he was fabulous! Had the sea scallops, venison & quail, and the sticky toffee dessert (delicious!). Despite it being a busy Saturday night, service was seamless and the food was timely. Definitely did not feel rushed or ignored at any time. And the food was amazing! Definitely will be coming back again.
Excellent well prepared food with great presentation. Thoroughly enjoyed the upbeat modern relaxing atmosphere with a great view of the river walk. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful in explaining the entrees.
Wow! My wife and I feel like we had just left a show. The way you are treated means a lot to us, and they did not fall short in that category. Also the knowledge (especially when it comes to pairing your taste profile to a wine) was out of this world. A true fine dining experience in San Antonio.
We had a wonderful experience. The food was spiced well and had good flavor. My daughter had sweet potato flautas and loved them( she wished that there were more flautas instead of all the veggies.) I ordered from the fixed menu and the portions were plentiful. Broccoli with pine nuts was delicious.
Most definitely we would be regulars if we lived in TEXAS.
The service was second to none! The food was incredible and the birthday celebration was too fun! Thank you so much Biga on the Banks team.
Great food, romantic ambiance overlooking the Riverwalk.
We suffered one or two service failures, but they were quickly and cheerfully corrected.
Vegetarian dish of the day was very disappointing, but this seems to be common in San Antonio.
But overall was very good, we would return or recommend
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner evening with friends recently. The food was excellent and so was the service. We were given a table on the open terrace at my request which added pleasure to our evening.
Very nice setting, very attentive server, very good food. Reviews suggested that the dessert was the best part, and dessert did not disappoint. They were very accommodating about halving our orders to allow sharing and decreased portions for all.
Great place and great food - ate there 3 times in 10 days. Entrance is a little hard to find but otherwise fantastic!
Service was mediocre. Reception greeted us Happy Anniversary, but waiter could care less. We were the only guests out on the patio. Normally, conversation was in the mix of our ordering, but guess he could care less. Biga is very quiet and at the end of the riverwalk. The good interesting items and tasty.
Biga proved to be a perfect romantic dinner to help my wife and I celebrate our 20th anniversary. The entire staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. If you are a foodie, this is a must dine location. Our server Casey told us the menus change daily so you might want to give it a peek before you go. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The habanero rubbed scallops were a great start to our meal. These were probably the best scallops we’ve had...until my wife said the ones in the bouillabaisse were even better. She didn’t offer to share so you’ll have to take her word for it! I enjoyed the 11-spice venison and quail which truly offered a wow impact. In short, you can’t go wrong here. I don’t think these guys know how to do anything short of spectacular. If we make it back to San Antonio, it will be a must do on our visit!!
Great experience. Food was outstanding. Service was as good as I’ve ever had.
Amazing food. Wonderful experience. A must if visiting San Antonio.
We went to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and were not disappointed! Food was amazing, service was outstanding. Will be back soon!!
Cozy ambience & excellent gourmet
This place was amazing. We went for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. The food was some of the best I have ever had. The price is great considering you could pay more elsewhere for lower quality food. The wait staff was amazing. They really made our anniversary seem special. We do not live in San Antonio but will probably go back when we visit again.
Fabulous liquor?cocktails, food, and wine. We were treated too a visit from award winning chef/owner Bruce Auden who told us about the local ingredients he sources, recommended some dishes and his general engagement to San Antonio over the last 25 years including this amazing restaurant. Worth going to and indulging. Five of us had a 7:30 reservation and started with cocktails then shared a terrific fried oyster (local - Texas) preparation, packets of game in lettuce with fusion Asian inspired sauces, local beet and goat cheese with arugula salad. We sampled the fish halibut preparation (flown in raw that day), local venison and quail with 11 spice preparation, and a side of brussel sprouts. Had wine both red and white relying on the waiter to recommend a pairing. We then finished at 10:00 with warm sticky toffee pudding and a dessert wine. What a delightful evening. And the menu was varied enough to eat many meals here.
