Beautiful restaurant on the Riverwalk, a very quite part of the walk, you only hear the boats going by.
I had the bouillabaisse with lobster, the seafood was cooked to perfection, my husband had the filet, which was also delicious. Favorite dish was the chicken fried oysters with squid ink pasta, amazing!
Dessert was salted caramel creme brulee and lemon cheesecake, both we're delicious.
Highly recommend, but be ready to spend, our dinner $230.00.

The food is great, but I think the waitstaff made all the difference in the world. 'English's' suggestions and courtesy were very additive. She timed the courses and beverage service very well and everything was outstanding.

We went to Biga for a special celebration dinner for my daughter's PhD graduation. I ordered a rare beef filet. Once of the easiest things to prepare. Only way to ruin it is to overcook it. The less than attentive waiter commented that the chef would be happy that I ordered it that way. I received a medium (pink with brown) overcooked steak. They offered to replace it - problem being, when that happens, everyone else is eating while you just sit there, and then they are all done when your meal finally comes out. This should NOT happen at a restaurant of this level. Super expensive meal ruined. Period. No way to redeem that.

The place was quiet and well air-conditioned on a hot humid evening. We sat by the window and enjoyed our cocktails and had amazing food. The tritip were so tender and perfectly seasoned.
We would go back to san antonio just to have the same cocktails and dinner again.

Wonderful food and exceptional service. We got there at 6:15 and were able to take advantage of the 3 or 4 course special they offer between 5:30-6:30. The red snapper was delicious as were the beef tips. The sauces on both definitely enhanced the meal. The kicker was the toffee pudding desert, which was actually a cake. It was the best, definitely a 10!!

Although the new interior ‘drapery’ attempts to disguise the warehouse aspect of the full room, it is a bit odd. But the service and food were excellent. A wonderful dinner, drinks and wine. A delightful anniversary dinner for 2.

Not what I expected. Service was very good but food was ok. The dish that I order as I main course was not available. The price for an appetizer and a salad was more than $45

The food and service were excellent. We chose to eat at the bar, since the restaurant was busy. I ordered all appetizers and salads. This was ample food for us. The wine menu is extensive with a choice for everyone.
A large group of high school students, going to a formal party were eating nearby. What good looking young people. They were very well mannered and added to our enjoyment of the night.
We will return to BIGA as soon as possible for another excellent evening of service, food and drinks.

Our server was horrible very slow service not very knowledgeable about the wine menu. Was my girlfriends birthday and it was an unpleasant experience. Under no circumstances should a server express to the guest that he seen her roll her eyes. She rolled her eyes cause she was disgusted by the server calling her my lady. Not only that he forgot three sides that we ordered with our entrees bread and butter 20 minutes after being sat and said he didn’t ring in the sides cause we are watching what we eat which is not his decision to make. Jose the server has to go. Prolly will never return again.

Amazing food and service. My husband really enjoyed their whiskey offerings. The food was unique and delicious and the service was prompt and professional. The portions are generous so it is really nice that you can order a half portion of many of the entrees so that you can enjoy multiple courses. We will definitely be travelling back to San Antonio to visit this place again.

This is the best restaurant in San Antonio. Too often overlooked, which is good for people wanting reservations and a quiet place, but this place has amazing food, great service, delicious drinks, extensive wine list... I could go on and on.

We had an excellent experience at Biga. The waiter gave us terrific service and made us feel as if we were his only table. The surrounding added to our dining experience. The food and it’s presentation exceeded our expectations. A little pricey but the total experience was well worth the price.

The food was excellent, very tasty and served nicely. Th ambience was relaxing, the waiter very knowlegable and friendly. I have to eat glutenfree and they advised us what to eat. very good restaurant.
Only it is a little hidden as it is inside a building, and the doors to enter the building looked closed, but apparently they were not.

The lobster bisque was delicious, but would have been better if there had been at least a small clump of actual lobster meat in it. The pan-fried red snapper was fresh, perfectly cooked, and nicely seared on top. The crab risotto was also delicious, but there was barely a spoonful on my plate (my husband’s portion looked somewhat larger). I like my vegetables crisp, but I thought the carrots and, to a lesser extent, the broccoli were a bit too undercooked. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but I think it could have been better and was overpriced for what it was.

Attentive service from Bo, great Foie Gras appetizer, well recommended entrees of lamb, axis and quail, pared with a nice wine filled by a signature caramel dessert. Quiet atmosphere makes you forget the crowded Riverwalk below. We always plan on a dinner at Biga when we’re in San Antonio!

While attending a conference in San Antonio, I saw the Yelp reviews and decided to try Biga on the Banks. Boy am I glad I did!! It was a wonderful experience for myself and two coworkers and it was just what we needed after being in such a frantic work environment. Our server was great, the food was lovely and the environment was refined without being pretentious. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

I was very impressed with this restaurant. I was in town for a business conference and looking for something close and nice. I am not real picky when it comes to food and honestly have never done a food review, however, I felt I needed to do a review for them. Short of our server having a very thick accent combined with the noise it was a little hard to hear/understand, this place was great in every other way. There is nothing else to say. Very polite, good and quick service from the food to the drinks. There was not the smallest of food particles let on any of my plates or my colleague's plates. It wasn't a ton of food, it was just right and we left full and very satisfied and the prices are very reasonable. Well done all the way around!!

Over rated and over priced. From the moment our waiter first approached our table, he engaged in a selling job that would have been the envy of a used car salesman. And, he kept it up all night. “Top 5 Tx restaurants.” “Only James Beard recognized chef in the state.” It went on endlessly. After checking, I don’t think much of his spiel was true.

We ordered a bottle of wine, listed as a 2014 on the wine list. A decent bottle, $55. When the waiter presented it, it was a 2017. Not worth the price. Too early to drink. When I pointed the discrepancy out to him, he gave me some ridiculous excuse for the substitution. I sent the wine back and ordered another label.

My husband and I love liver pate. There was fois gras on the menu. When we ordered it (at $24) my husband specifically mentioned the word “pate.” However, when it arrived, it was not pate, but a seared duck liver. The waiter then informed us that, at the whim of the chef, the appetizer may change. Shouldn’t the diner be told this ahead of ordering? My husband’s boullibase was just “ok.” My lamb was very good. The meal was not worth the over $200 price. When you pay that kind of money for dinner, you should leave satisfied and happy. We left feeling taken.
