Absolutely nothing wrong with the restaurant. The setting is lovely, staff were attentive and the food was good. Sadly, nothing was memorable either. Our biggest negative was the price. $50 for a multi-course meal could be a good deal, if the food was spectacular, but it simply wasn't. Complimentary fritters and whisky to start were nice. Having to pay extra for biscuits (when most restaurants provide complimentary bread) was too much. Kalette (described to us as having the crispiness of kale and the flavour of brus. sprouts) sounded great, but was too over seasoned with ginger and balsamic to taste the vegetable itself. Fried chicken was good, but not spectacular. Overall we enjoyed the experience, just not memorable or worth the price. Lots of other options available with more innovative food with better value for money.

Dinner was prix fix and "family style" neither of which I am a fan of but the food was excellent and something for everyone despite the limited choice.

This was our second time enjoying a meal at Big Tobacco and they did not disappoint. The food was flavorful and unique, the waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the welcome glass of bourbon and we enjoyed the opportunity to taste our wine before deciding on the perfect pairing.

This is my new favorite restaurant!

I ordered what I would call the tasting menu or family sharing at $50. Each dish was delicious. Once tried, I would not do it again. A lot of food for one (I think the chef was generous to me]. Although delicious the food combination was unusual going from biscuit, to Brussels sprouts to barley risotto to fish and chips to steak to dessert. I might have elongated the battered fish and chips - just didn’t seem to go. My dining partner ordered the Fogo cod and chips. Was amazed that he got same size plate as my fish for $30. Lot of money for a small portion.

As I said food was delicious, I would go back if they opened up the menu to regular menu choices.

Cannot fault the service - young lady was very attentive.

Perfect dining experience in all ways! Our server Amanda was welcoming right from the start, she made us feel at home and started the night off perfectly. Our table of four shared 6 dishes and everything was excellent ,we left very happy and full of great food. The biscuits were super flaky l, the risotto was delicious and the oxtail was rich and satisfying. We will be back for sure in the future. Thanks so much:)

Had a chance to check out this restaurant last Friday and had an excellent time. My guest and I enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu and each course was great! Whiskey pairings shared by Nick and his service team were excellent. Will definitely return again! Thanks, Trystan.

We had a great evening. Service and food quality is excellent. The menu is not posted on the website and took a little while to understand. After an explanation, we were good to go. The Tasting menu is the way to go. The atmosphere is very cozy. With a full house, it could feel a little crowded. Overall, a great evening with excellent food. I'll definitely go back again ... especially when the patio is open.

It was a nice change to accept the tasting menu and enjoy the dishes family style. Everything we tasted was delicious from the beets and brussel sprouts to the pork and beef. Nice touch being greeted by the owner with a whisky tasting both before and after our meal. Highly recommend dinner at the Big Tobacco Kitchen and Whisky!

It was our second visit !!! We loved it so much after our first wonderful out of this world visit we had to treat our grown adult children to my birthday celebration!! Loved it, great service, delicious food and friendly staff. So fresh local food, meat, veggies, fruits all grown by local farmers. It is truly a gem!! Thank you Big Tobbacco for a wonderful evening.

Amazing. Everyone in our party is still raving about the food and hospitality. We had the family style dinne choice paired with a great wine recommendation. Each course seem better than the last.

The owner greeted us with enthusiasm and a small sample of whiskey. A great start to our dinner experience. The wine is half price on Tuesdays, so that was a nice bonus as well. Our server was ok...we had lots of attention at first and then it faded. I don't think she knew how to keep us happy as we waited 45 minutes for our first bite of food. The long wait aside, the food was delicious; well cooked, tasty and presented. Our table had the lamb, beef and chicken. Another good addition to the restaurant scene in Hamilton.

We had not been to dinner out in Hamilton very often and found this spot for a pre-concert dinner. Food was very good and interesting as we did the family style for 4 with the glass of wine. Great experience and would recommend this Restaurant to others

Fried chicken was delicious, juicy on the inside crunchy on the outside. We did a tasting menu and all courses served were great but I still felt hungry when dessert was served. I think I needed a carb to make me feel full.

Thanks for the great service and good food!
I was a bit hesitant to have a work dinner at the restaurant because of the 'family style' but everyone loved it! We were seated on the patio - which was great.

Not really what I expected. It was nice to experience. The menu is not mainstream at all. The food is not for the average person it's more for the adventurous or someone who knows food. Worth a try though.

The pork belly was tasty but very greasy. The beef was also OK but nothing to rave about. The biscuits were excellent. Service was pleasant and informative. Casual. I would like to try the tasting menu as the regular servings were too big and needed more.

I took my husband to Big Tobacco Kitchen and Whiskey to celebrate his birthday with friends. The main reason was for the selection of whiskeys. Our server was very knowledgeable and made their tasting event fun and interactive. We also had the dessert which was amazing, especially the whiskey infused caramel sauce. Would love to go back for a meal - and more whiskey of course!
