   Finding a place with both great food & drinks for friends visiting from out of state. From the moment we walked until we left, we were impressed with all aspects of Big Star West. Atmosphere was conducive to catching up while enjoying several types of tacos & a pitcher or two of margaritas. Staff kept us fed & served, while giving excellent service. Looking forward to returning for outdoor seating once the weather warms up!

   Manager was great. He introduced my clients to La Gritona which is much better than the Don Julio we initially chose. Music was a little odd but the staff was amazing.

   Great food and service went above, they were excellent with my 18 mo daughter - had coloring mat and brought out her French toast right away (our group was still finishing ordering!!) love this neighborhood spot.

   Strange to see it almost empty when I went. But the same great food, whiskey, and service nonetheless.

   My daughter and I had an exceptionally wonderful evening dining at your restaurant!! The ambiance was festive and the fish tacos were delicious!!! Our server was very professional and kind! We will definitely be back!! Happy New Year 2025!!

   I would give a poor for Service, but I’m very sensitive to the fact that these guys are dealing with the same problem Every Restaurant is dealing with, and that is finding enough labor to satisfy their demand. Having said that, we started running late for the Bulls game and literally needed to stand up and wait in line at the bar to find a way to pay our check Very cold air temp — low/mid 60s and the tacos aren’t as close to as good (food was served a little cold not terribly fresh )as the quality in their Bucktown location which doesn’t seem to make sense

   Took over 20 minutes before a server even talked to us, took additional 30 minutes to get the drinks. 50+ minutes from sitting down to receiving drinks. Ridiculous

   Big Star had a very off night. I could not tell why they were so backed up but our party had a 7 PM reservation. Between the two apt for our table, our server and then our order, we did not get receive our initial order till 8:25. This did not appear to be the vault of our server per se, but the whole restaurant (bar, kitchen, host, etc). Very disappointing.

    Good as always. But, because of the menu change, I have to go on certain days to get my favorite dish. I say dish because they took away the other favorite I liked. They can update the whiskey/tequila list as well.
