Big River Grille - Chattanooga/Hamilton Place
This was our second time dining at this location, however the second time was disappointing. At 5pm in the afternoon on a Saturday there were no ribs. There was a large party there but these were kids and ribs were not the first choice for children. We were told it would be 30 mins. Then told an hour. Are these ribs broiled or baked ? They couldn't be on the grill because you can't really time ribs but other than that we settled for 14.00 dollar burgers.. they were ok but the bill was pricey for 2 burgers,an appetizer and the 3 cocktails 100.00... nothing special
Server was awesome. All the food needed salt. I’m not a huge salt person but if I’m picking up the shaker because it’s bland then there’s an issue.
Ryan was an excellent waiter.
I would rate this restaurant zero stars if I could. My husband and I were visiting Chattanooga for a Valentine’s weekend getaway and had the misfortune of visiting for our last dinner in town. We had reservations, but still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. The restaurant itself was very loud and felt like a chain. We ordered chips and dip as an appetizer. For our entrees, my husband ordered a burger, and I ordered nachos. We waited for 45 minutes just to get the appetizer, which is clearly a premade item. We were seated by the kitchen so I was able to watch our entrees sit for 15+ minutes before they were brought to our table. My husband’s burger was dressed incorrectly and literally raw in the middle. My nachos were also incorrect and soggy. The manager was very nice and comped our food, but it was still such a poor overall experience. Do not recommend.
Great Valentines evening.
Made reservation for 7:15 and showed up at 7:05. Was put in a call/wait list, but was seated before reservation time. I had to get the Manager because we were not being waited on. We were seated approximately 12 minutes and others were being seated and orders taken. Manager promptly rectified the issue and gave us appetizer for free. The meal was very good and the rest of the time we were taking care of.
The reservation we made did not mean anything to the restaurant. The food was okay, but had nothing special going for it.
This restaurant did not honor our reservation, or anyone else's that night. More than disappointing as we confirmed the reservation that day by telephone. When we arrived we were told there was a 90 wait and they would add us to a list. When I stated, "I guess reservations don't mean anything here.", the host responded sarcastically, "Yea, guess it sucks." I'll never go back.
Had reservations for Valentine’s Day. Food was very average. After a 20 min wait they wanted to sit us at a half table/ half booth. We said that was fine...until we sat down. The place they tried to sit us was a long booth where other people were practically sitting on top of us. Hoping to have a quiet romantic dinner for this special day, we declined these seats. Then they ended up sitting us in the back with a softball team. It was extremely loud and not what you would hope for on Valentine’s Day, but we tried to make the best of it. All in all everything was just very blah. Probably won’t go back unless I’m in a super loud group that I wouldn’t want to take somewhere very fancy lol
The server Maddie (Madelyn) & Trainee Emily were OUTSTANDING in the level of table service they provided me during my late afternoon 6:00pm dining experience. Also manager Alexandria stopped by to ensure everything was going as expected. I only had an appetizer of Chicken Wings done Extra Crispy along with a soft drink beverage and the service & wings were done perfectly. The pace of the appetizer and beverage refills were on time, thank you Maddie, Emily & Alexandria.
Big party next room but Ethan and food outstanding
Outstanding dinner again at Big River Grille.. started with the trio of chips and dips followed by the bison burger. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious as usual! Excellent experience.
The service was great and the food was delicious! Preston did an awesome job taking care of us!
Great experience. Food was above average with excellent service.
I had a birthday reservation for 7pm, and arrived at 6:50pm. It took until 7:15 for us to be seated, and it was at the bar. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks, and another 40 to get our food. When we got our food, 3/8 orders were wrong and all of the fries were cold. Not a great experience, but the table had a nice set up so our party of 8 could converse nicely and conveniently.
Alexandra was our waitress, she was wonderful! Her recommendation on beer on tap was great. One person had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, I had the Makers Mark burger and my mother had the classic burger. The burgers were cooking perfectly. The french fries were crisp. We each greatly enjoyed our choice. I will go again next time I am in town!
Preston made our evening wonderful! He was on top of our drinks & made excellent suggestions on the beer selections! Mother-in-law loves the beer battered fish & chips. She said it was the best she’s had. Love the reservation s being online.
The food here was good, but we did not receive good service on this visit. Maybe our server was new, having a bad night or just not a good server. Not sure of the reason, but his lack of good service did affect the enjoyment of our meal.
I was in town and wanted to take my 89 yo mother to dinner. She had the hamburger. She enjoyed it. I had the fish and chips dinner. I was very disappointed in the fish. I expected 1 or 2 cod filets but what was served was 4 cod fish sticks. The flavor was good but being cut in the way they were, it was too much breading and not much substance. The service was good and our waitress was very attentive.
There were three of us dining and everything that we ordered came out wrong or was cold. I will never go back.
Reservations for a party of nine. Table was ready when we arrived. Service was great and food was tasty. Beer was awesome.
Huge salads, pleasant waitress, crowded so I was glad I had a reservation
Steak was undercooked , potatoes were cold, wont be back.
Great atmosphere. great food. great prices. Try the long island ice tea - you'll love it!
We had received mixed reviews about BRG but it was good. Place seemed more like a sports bar but the food and service were excellent!
Pepperoni pizza was very oily. The bbq chicken salad didn’t have much chicken (maybe 3-4 bites) and lettuce was brown. The catfish and the Cajun pasta were liked. Beer was decent.
Steaks were tender, though seasoned. Overall good experience.
It’s was a great experience! Food come out at a great time and was hot
Nice place to have dinner.
The food was good in the end and that is what matters I guess. Our server was nice and so was management but we had some issues that left us frustrated. They let us order and then told us most of what we ordered was not available. We decided we’d leave since they didn’t have what we wanted to eat and then within a few minutes they had everything. It was odd. We were just frustrated with the experience especially since we were celebrating a special day. They did try to make things better and we may go back one day but not for a special occasion.
Facility looks nice from the outside but is not super impressive on the inside. We stopped there bc the parking lot is always full when we pass. We got the southwest egg rolls, two different pizzas (the Italian and the bbq chicken), carrot cake, and key lime cheesecake. Everything tasted great! Will definitely go back.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. I love the fish tacos!
Grouobof four and took long time for appetizers & for meal too. One plate was under warmer too long and missing ingredients
Maddie was great server. Drinks always full and she was very gracious
Service was excellent and the food was tasty. I would highly recommend it.
Nice for casual dining. Good beer, good food, wonderful patio.
Very good food at a reasonable price. Wonderful atmosphere and superb service. I highly recommend.
I used opentable and made reservation for 5. When we got there, it was empty yet the hostess stuck us on a 4-top next to the kitchen. We asked to move and we’re given another 4-top and extra chair away from kitchen. By the time we finished the place was barely 1/4 full and another 5 showed up and the restaurant pushed 2 4-tops together for them but not us. Guess opentable users are 2nd class people
We came here in a Friday hoping for a relaxing evening during our anniversary getaway. We have been to the Big River Downtown and enjoyed it, so we had higher expectations. We were seated immediately because we made reservations. Our waiter was just ok. He was polite but not overly courteous or helpful. It just felt like a Friday night at a chain restaurant. Our food was good, we had no problems with that. We ended up going over to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert and drinks.
Good steaks, beer and desert! Look for coupons! Close to the Mall and easy parking.
