Our tradition of on-site brewing and food made fresh, from scratch, are the most evident examples of this passion. Our restaurants and people offer a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, attentive and friendly service, fresh food carefully and creatively prepared, specially brewed beers and other fine beverages. We feel it is this combination of elements that make a great dining experience possible
small covid menu, low average food, low average service....don't bother...
Our waitress was awful. We ordered salads with our meal, our meal came out first and we
told the runner we had order salads. Did not get them till we through with our meal. Of course it was to late. She never checked to see if we needed anything. Bad experience.
Really good. Jessica was awesome!
Nachos were terrible, over cooked (probably in the microwave) and nothing on them. I could have made them better. Club sandwich was ok at best. 2am burger was the only thing good but fries were cold. Service was extremely slow for only at 25%.
Excellent food and Gabriel was a fantastic server!
Definitely a little loud up front at the host stand with the servers hanging out up there and loudly complaining about their tables or lack thereof. Just something to be aware of. Overall it was great!
In the midst of COVID, I found the spacing adequate, the service friendly and the food (and beer) delicious
Food was underwhelming. Was seated for about 10 minutes before we asked who our server was. Response was “I guess I can”.
No frills, mediocre at best.
It had been six months since out last visit.
Great as it always is!!
Big River Grille, was in decline before the pandemic. Now, they are a complete train wreck. We will be avoiding this once staple of downtown dining.
We had a great experience at Big River. We went for dinner before we had a family gathering in the Billiards Room. Ashton was a very helpful server. She made great recommendations for beers and food. We would definitely recommend going to Big River.
We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation and they got us right in! Our server Sara helped us choose from the beer list and overall did a super job. If we lived in Chattanooga instead of 700 miles away, we’d be regulars.
Our server was Gabriel and he made our evening. The food was average. The beers was good and Gabriel gave us samples of beers we ended up buying.
I was seated right away after making a reservation earlier in the day, and the food and service were great!
Unpleasant tourist trap, find somewhere else to eat
Staff was great. Steak was superb. Wait time was great from time we ordered until food was delivered.
We were very disappointed. The service was wonderful but the (not cheap) food was awful! The steaks weren’t cooked correctly and were burnt on the top and bottom, the ribs were really rubbery and just not good.
The drinks were good though
They were very busy but service was good. Food was overcooked and had to send back drinks a few times to get right.
The service was slow and not very attentive.
This is a fun place near the beautiful Tennessee River and the Tennessee Aquarium. Try a flight of beer and enjoy with an appetizer. We tried the enchiladas and their winter beer. Both were very good! The bartender let’s you taste a small amount before investing in a pint. All the selections we tried were top notch!
Jordan or waiter was fantastic- walked us through the food and beer types/ knowledgeable and friendly
Ate there 3 times in 3 days Great service andf good food Fun atmosphere and very convient to all attractions in downtown Chattanooga! Larry
Food was cold; service was poor; manager didn’t care if we were happy or not. Won’t be back
Family Time,, Everything was EXCELLENT
So much good food and great beer and a lot of fun, can't wait to go back
Menu not great.
I’m from Ga and this is the restaurant we come to every time we visit!
It was our Anniversary and they provided a free desert for us!! It was awesome!!
Our service was horrendous. We saw our server maybe three times, our food was wrong, and we waited over thirty mins to pay our bill. I finally had to ask the hostess to find a manager so I could pay. While I was speaking to a manager, another customer came up and said they were having the same poor service and had been trying to pay for over thirty mins also. The manager did nothing except run our cards and tell us thanks for coming in.
My favorite Chattanooga restaurant by far. Great atmosphere, food, location and so much more!
Service and food was outstanding. The only thing which could and should be looked at is the restrooms. In the ladies restroom, one stall was flooded, the other one leaked water, and all around it looked very messy and unpleasant. Other than that it was a great experience.
My server, Roxanne, was knowledgeable and assured me of the quality of the green beans. She was right. They were still crispy instead of the usual overcooked green beans I often see elsewhere. The steak was cooked well and the potatoes were flavorful. Roxanne also anticipated my need for refills and suggested that I get a drink to go. It never would have occurred to me and I’m glad she suggested it.
Our party of 8 showed up in time for our 7:15 reservation. By 8:35 and three complaints to management. We left. Never saw our waitress after taking initial drink order. Final manager we saw agreed to comp our drinks and we left to find dinner somewhere else.
We are frequent visitors at Big River, and I really don't like to be negative, but something is happening in the kitchen...and it's not good. Our server was awesome, as was the beer, the food was marginal at best. I ordered the Texas Ribeye medium-rare. It came out beyond well done. After a few bites I told our server about it, and she had a replacement made. The replacement was a perfect medium-rare, but so over-salted that it was inedible. (This was maybe the 3rd time in my 58 years I've sent anything back. I'm pretty forgiving). To add insult to injury the cheese grits were lumpy, watery and just warm. Sad. I love their grits. My son's pepperoni pizza arrived 15 minutes after everyone else's food...including my second steak. We were a party of 7 celebrating my wife's birthday. Most of the other's were somewhat displeased as well.
Was there for the IM- really appreciated the discount and although busy, we got seated at the time of our reservation and the service and food were good.
My chicken with mushroom, gravy, and onion straws was edible at best. I feel like they scraped the bottom of the pan for my gravy and mushrooms. The onions were burnt. I scraped everything off and just ate the chicken. The fried pickles were the best part of our dinner. If you’re going to stay open til 11, I expect my dinner to be just as good at 9:30 as it is when you first open. If not then do a limited menu.
The food was good but the service was horrible! Had to ask for silverware, napkins. One of the plates of 4 that we ordered took too long to be served and arrived very late. Some food items that we ask for were not available.
The service and the food was excellent! Our food took a little longer than normal to come out. Our waiter took care of it for us before we even said anything! We will definitely eat at Big River Grille again! We liked it more than Puckett's!
The food was great. Loved the hazelnut crusted chicken! Service was good and prompt without feeling like the server was hovering.
So good will definitely be back
The food was absolutely amazing. Had the Brazilian steak house the next and wished we had just went back to big river grille.
