Server didn't know the beers on tap, the kids menu, the specials....
We found this restaurant searching in OpenTable. It was pretty empty as we were the first customers at 5:00 pm.
My wife had the 16 ounce New York strip which was ordered at medium-rare but prepared to rare. Served with mashed potatoes and horribly burned fried Brussels sprouts. They offered to bring another choice and my wife opted for carrots, which were served as oily and greasy? How do you do that?
I ordered the Hearty Baby Back Ribs Pit Master, Steven Jenks' famous dry rubbed ribs, slow smoked with apple wood until fork tender. Ribs are glazed with a bourbon barbecue sauce and served with coleslaw and fries. Ribs were dry but meat was fall off the bone.
So-so meal, waitress knew it was our first time there and there were no other customers so she wasted the opportunity to inform us of anything on the menu or even win us over. Brought the check and end of the meal and I turned to my wife and laughed,”guess we aren’t having dessert.” She definitely didn’t understand selling.. lol
I hate having to valet park my car as well, which was required. Too many places in this area to try, I don’t think we will be back as vegetables were oily and greasy, ambiance lacked and food was so-so.
Perhaps you will have a better dining experience... if this place survives?
Service was alright. Our server was pleasant but seemed to be in a hurry. The food was disappointing. My steak was under seasoned and luke warm and my partners chicken was overcooked and drowned in soy sauce. Seemed very cheap compared to the price point. Had high hopes for this place but overall it was very subpar.
Food and beverages were excellent, but glad we weren’t in a hurry. We had a 7:30 reservation and were not seated until after 8. Our entrees did not arrive until almost 9. Our server was attentive and kept our drinks refilled, so we had a pleasant time talking to my wife, but on a normal night 2 hours for dinner would have been problematic.
Last minute reservations for Valentine's evening. First time here. I got the rib eye, mashed potatoes and fried brussel sprouts and it was phenomenal! Service was great. Drinks were great. Not noisy. I would definitely go back! Highly recommend!
Great experience will return! The bonus is they have a parking lot behind the restaurant. Hard to find downtown Roswell.
What a great change. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out, if you’ve been, try it again. You’ll love the food, service and ambiance.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating our 10th anniversary at Big Oak Tavern. My husbands steak was done to perfection and we enjoyed every item that we ordered. Our server Morgan was attentive and wonderful. We will definitely be back very soon!
The problem with this restaurant is there is not enough serving staff. The bartender took our drink order, took our food order, made the drinks and served our food. The appetizer never came till we asked about it which was 40 minutes after we ordered. Right after the appetizer, our food came. The food was ok - nothing special. I am pretty sure the salad I got was a bagged one from Costco with a couple of items added to it. There were no apologies for how long our food took. No manager came by to apologize. Very disappointed!
Waited a very long time for food and drinks. Our appetizer that we ordered never came out, and they had to remove from bill. Not enough staff to serve the whole restaurant.
Absolutely loved this place! Food was wonderful! I had mussels, a house salad and the steak. I am rather a snob when it comes to mussels and steak and they could not have been any better! Steak was as good as any of the great steakhouses! I will be back.

Date night. Made a reservation. Excited about the Branzino on the menu. Came early. Hardly anyone. They were friendly. Insisted on drinks order first. More people came. But really only 4 tables with couples. One family. Every single time they came out with a plate they asked every table until they find the right person to the order. The Branzino came. I was so excited. But. Where is it? I couldn’t see it under the soup it was covered with. The jasmine rice was somewhere ar the bottom but all mushed up and mixed with the same starchy soup!
So. Long story short. Good beginnings. But. You need a new chef or better quality control. Some of the veg was overcooked beyond recognition. While other parts were still raw!
Interior is cute and cozy.
Staff very friendly but slightly disorganized.
Good luck and I truly hope quality improves to match the prices.
I think that this the tavern is relatively new or under new management. They seemed to have a difficult time determining who was actually responsible for our table and what they should do. We waited a long time to get our water and drinks. The food was good and the people were accommodating. We will give them a chance to organize and then go back. I'll recommend them to my friends.
