Our server was able to take a questionable situation into an agreeable one. Quick thinking saved the day. Apparently you have new management (in the bar?) who don’t know that you recork champagne after the first pour. Otherwise the $55 worth of festive bubbles goes up into the air instead of our glasses. I told him, if he didn’t have a stopper, he could take the bottle back, unopened. We discussed alternatives and he returned with a plastic thing you use to take the gas out of an opened bottle of wine. It worked so we kept the bottle.
A few years ago I had the same conv with a wait staffer, then with a manager. Do you not train your bar staff consistently on proper handling of wine? Don’t serve it if you can’t do it properly.
Otherwise our dinner was very good. I will return and not expect to educate your staff. Not at this level of dining experience.
We have always had a great experience at The Big Fish; it is our first choice for great seafood. And we love how the menu changes time to time.
We ordered drinks which took over a half hour to come out. We had to ask for biscuits after sitting for 20 min after placing our order. The server did not write our order down and one of our meals was completely incorrect, brought out scallops which was not ordered. While we were eating our salads, the server tells us our meals are ready, can we bring them out? NO! I had to wait to get my meal while the others in my party ate theirs. Then while I am eating my meal he started clearing away the plates from the others. The restaurant was not crowded but the server blamed the bar for the delayed drinks and the kitchen for screwing up the order. He was awful. The food was good, as usual, but we were very disappointed with our evening's experience!
Seated promptly, hostess was a bit hurried, not sure why given the limited number of patrons. Service from Josh was great.
The food was ok but very chilly in the restaurant, I go the impression they were trying to save money by not turning on the heat.
We were there for lunch but since it was Sunday and Easter our choices were brunch or the dinner menu at 1:30 in the afternoon. Our server was great but service was slow. The one person who ordered the brunch got cold waffles. They made fresh ones but everyone else was done with their meals by the time it came back out.Rating based on the fact we were not given the lunch menu when we were there for lunch. Also given the fact that one person could not eat his food with rest of the party I think that item should have been taken off the bill (it was the least expensive )
The Big Fish restaurant is always good. Consistently good food and service. A little pricey, but worth it for special occasions.
Typical Mall restaurant. Nothing special about it. Food was good but not memorable. Service was friendly and attentive but the overall atmosphere was bland. I felt like I was eating in the mall not that there is anything wrong with that when you just want to pick up a quick bite. On the other hand if you are looking for something more, this isn’t the place.
We like to go here when we are in the mood for a good fish dinner with many options. We think the food is much better here than Bone Fish and when you eat a regular menu restaurant, your fish choices are limited. We drive about 40 minutes to get here. It's never that difficult to get a reservation and if not, it's fun to sit at the bar. Our waiter Tyron was very nice and always available.
Excellent fish selections. Loved the cod and clams.
Ok food, under seasoned . Slow service. Price is too high for the quality of the food.
We came for my grandmother’s birthday. We were a party of 14, which included 4 kids. The staff was extremely accommodating and patient with the size of our party and the kids.
The food was excellent, service was friendly and attentive.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend!
The food we ordered were fresh and good and the waiter was very friendly. The service was bit slow.
Everything was fine.
Terrible service waited forever. Rude waitress
So disappointed. We've been to Big Fish for years. The service has deteriorated. This time it took forever to get a server to get to our table. Then forever to get water and bread. Once we ordered, our appetizers were great but one of our entrees was incorrect. I should have suspected something may go wrong when the server didn't write down our order. So my husband ate his entree and then he had to watch me eat. Our server was very apologetic and while we got free dessert out of it, the whole experience was just uneasy and unpleasant.
This was a mixed experience. The food was fairly good (certainly not outstanding), but the service was uneven. First, the hostess took us to a table that was already occupied, then disappeared as though going to look at the seating chart again, but never came back. Meanwhile an adjoining table was being cleaned so we seated ourselves. The waiter seemed hurried and not particularly invested in our well being. Our dishes were brought in fits and starts, or not at all until we reminded him. Took over two hours to get through a casual dinner on a not particularly busy night.
Very good food for the price. Outstanding service. We sat at the bar and had a great experience
Good place even for a single woman to dine alone: friendly, safe, sufficient staff to ensure no one is singled out for unexpected attention. This is not a small thing - a Residence Inn is across the parking lot, where a lot of business travelers stay. And did I mention the very good small plate options during Happy Hour?
The Salmon was excellent! Service was good. My Mother loves this place on her Birthday.
I chose them over Bone Fish for Valentine dinner and I regret my decision. The service was bad, the food not much better especially for the price. Never going again. Bone Fish Grill for me when I want seafood.
Can always count on a wonderful meal and great menu choices. Ambiance has always been pleasing.
If you want to satisfy your wish for seafood; you came to the right place. If you want to satisfy your hunger for fresh fish in particular; go no further, this is the place.
Wait staff was not attentive.
I got sick after I ate the crab cake and the crab mac and cheese. I was up the entire night.
Our server, Anthony, was excellent - friendly and very thorough. Brought the chef right over when we told him of a food allergy. Manager also came over at the end of meal to make sure everything had been to our satisfaction.
Great meal as always.. food is always fabulous...
Food and atmosphere was above expectations for the price.
Great food and excellent service
The food was very average. There was a strong smell of fish when we walked through the dining room which made me worry that the fish being served wasn’t fresh. The risotto that came with my entree was inedible and tasteless. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Even though we had a reservation for 7, when we arrived they told us we would have to wait 20 minutes. Instead, we sat at the bar. We had a fantastic bartender that made up for not having a table.
We came to the restaurant following a concert. Reservation was immediately honored, even though we were about 30 minutes early. The service was great and the food was also great. All of our meals came out correctly, right temperature, very tasty.
Well be back.
very attentive server. food was good.
We had a very large table for a lunch with 15 people. Although the service was a little slow, and the place was not at all crowded. We had a great server that took care of everything and didn't miss an order or empty glass! She was amazing for all the orders and everything came out perfect. The food was exceptional - my compliments to the chef! I had the salmon and it was done to perfection.
We went to celebrate the New Year. My daughter has her favorite crab cakes with vegetables on the side and I ordered salad and mussels. They were all freshly prepared and delicious!
we enjoyed it on New Year's Eve- bread was full of garlic, however, nothing plain. That is a problem if you are allergic. Had good cocktails and wine- 2 people out of there for 140 bucks, not bad.
We went to the Big Fish location for a last minute New Years Evening dinner and were not disappointed. We were seated right away (we had a reservation) the people at the front desk were very busy but also very friendly. Our server came right to out table and did a great job of explaining the menu and making recommendations. The food and drinks came in just the right amount of time and we were able to enjoy a great night. Everything we ordered was great. We were not rushed at all. We will definitely go back and will recommend this restaurant to our friends. Thanks again
In spite of the reservation they counld't find our name instantly. We were escourted to the middle table in the restaurant but it was too dark to read the menu. We moved to another table but unfortunately there was a cold draft every time the door openned and we moved to another table. It would be best if they can advise us if that table is not recommended since this is our first visit.
Perfect place for a quiet dinner.
The restaurant was empty and when asked to move, the host told us the rest of tables were for patrons that reserved. We had reservations and not one person entered restaurant while we were there. Waiter did wait for my wife to order as he intrupted to tell her about up charge to where she said forget and just took food as it was, she wanted double veggies and would have accepted the charge had he waited till she was done ordering. I know it was Christmas Eve and regular staff might have been off, but as pricing remains the same I think service should too.
