Big Fish - Dearborn Ratings and Reviews
I always love going to Big Fish. Usually there portion sizes at lunch are really great. However, the fish on the fish and chips was very small, unlike last month when I ordered the same item. I give them props as the Manager had the chef prepare an additional small piece for me. The response to my inquiry occurred quickly without any problem.
As always the service is great - waitress processes order quickly and accurately. The atmosphere is always fantastic and the dining area quiet.
I look forward to returning for my next lunch outing with friends.
My boyfriend and I went on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was empty. Our server was courteous and patient. The food was delicious. We ordered Patron Margaritas which were amazing. I'm sure the ambiance would be better on a normal business day. Would definitely dine there again.
I used to love this restaurant, but was very disappointed in this special occasion. We were celebrating our 35th anniversary with my in-laws and son, and asked for a nice table with fun server. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but they still tried to put us at a lousy table by the kitchen doors. And our waitress, while friendly and trying hard, clearly hadn’t been properly trained. She didn’t know how the specials were prepared, and didn’t know how to serve a nice bottle of wine.
Our food was good, not great. The restaurant is not what it used to be. It needs a makeover to make it more cozy and currrnt, and much more involved management.
The food was just okay. Our waitress was very nice but there was an inability to pace our courses. We had appetizers, soup and an entree. We didn't have the opportunity to finish one course before they brought the next. Opposite problem with our drinks. Drink service was very slow. We had all our food but not our drinks. Also, someone dropped food by our table and no one cleaned it up.
It took 2 1/2 hours to service 3 people and the restaurant was a third filled. The floor bounced every single time someone walk behind me for all of that 2 1/2 hours. Food was fine. Oysters were not separated from their shells and steak was cold, but cooked well.
Service was horrific for a Saturday at 5:30 p.m...... ridiculous!!!!!
I enjoy Big Fish during the week days and nights because I work in the area so I am there often.... however for a weekend.... the service was awful!!!!
What should have taken maximum two hour dinner experience on a Saturday at 5:30 p.m. turned into three hours and we were late for our concert!
The room we were seated in was very loud and I couldn't hear people talking at our table. The waitress forgot to bring my salad dressing and after 15 minutes I had to leave the table and hunt her down in the restaurant. They were not busy, but she rarely checked on us. My shrimp and crab salad was disappointing. I would not recommend it.
Every trip to Big Fish is an enjoyable one. I celebrated my birthday on Friday and Big Fish was my choice. The menu selection is great and the food is always fresh and plentiful. The rolls are outstanding. Everything was prepared to perfection. I will return again before the year is out for I love their fish and chips on the luncheon menu.
The waitress could careless about the table I was at...she seemed more focus on the “regulars”. It took 20 minutes for us to get the bread basket. Then I ordered the steak with shrimp and it came out without shrimp. The manager came and apologized for the delay. Over all I had a good night.
Food was great as were support staff - busboys, host, bartender, etc. Our server up charged my brother-in-law to premium vodka without asking. She also upcharged our bottle of Chardonnay without asking. This is why I only gave 4 stars for service. Otherwise this was a very nice Thanksgiving meal!
As always Big Fish surpassed my expectations even though I have been there several times. The lunch menu has a variety of options with something for everyone. I wanted to try the fish and chips after seeing a photo on line. There was enough food for me to eat half and take the remainder home for lunch. It was served with sweet potato fries, shoestring onion rings, and a tasty coleslaw. I am not usually a fan of coleslaw, but this one is definitely a keeper. My sister tried the whitefish with rice and a vegetable and said it was very good.
Their rolls are divine. Service was magnificent as always and timing was great. Absolutely no wait, our table was ready at the reserved time.
I always enjoy Big Fish so I can hardly wait until I return.
For the most part the service was very good but when my husband was asked if he wanted a second drink after appetizers and he said yes it didn't arrive until he was almost done with his entree. The birthday menu arrived after we ordered and the waiter forgot my husband's dinner included dessert.
The scallops were amazing as was the Chilean sea bass!
