Big Easy Winebar & Grill
If one term could describe Big Easy, it would be the Afrikaans word of ‘Gesellig’ – sociable with friends, amicable, affably companionable, friendly, convivial, cordial.
Fun and relaxed, it is at the same time, the place to hang out with friends, to a place to take your loved ones for a glass of wine and an unpretentious meal any day of the week.
It is a culinary experience that is first and foremost a superb grill restaurant featuring outstanding meats and fresh local fish, yet inspired by Ernie’s travels around the world and the cultural crossroads of South African Heritage.
The food was delicious, romantic , cosy ambience!
We love the place
Superior dining experience for the Brickell area. Staff are well trained and attentive.
Fantartic food and atmosphere ! Specialty drinks were great and a nice varied selection of house craft cocktails. We shared the pita bread with Borie sausages to start ! Just so good and an amazing start. The angry duck curry was flavorful and not too spicy, we all loved. Great value for a fantastic evening and would highly recommend, we can’t wait to go back again!
Attentive waiter, food was delicious and good portions.
The service was friendly, professional and efficient. We asked that the music volume be lowered. It was and the "noise" become quiet. The food was varied, excellent and unusual.
Great experience overall! Nice ambiance and low key environment nment. Food flavors are delicious.
Marcus and of course Michelle as always were fantastic!! Great food and amazing service!!
Happy hour is only at the bar. What can't I get the same price for the same food if I'm at a table?? Only 3 parties there and the service was slow. Food was cook well at least
Our experience was GREAT! Started off with 2 cocktails in the bar during happy hour on Saturday and enjoyed the best PEI mussels we've ever had - the sauce was unique and delicious. We stayed for dinner and the great food and service kept coming. All of the seasoning and flavors were unique and delicious. This restaurant is a hidden gem and I hope more people discover it. It's perfect especially after doing some shopping. The staff were very attentive and personable. Definitely will be one of our regular spots. I'm delighted that we tried it!
Great food but a bit on the expensive side.
Muy mala atencion
Interesting and satisfying food, everyone loved what they ordered.
Great. Service and food was excellent
We really enjoyed the Big Easy. Pork belly lollipops were great! The Chopped Saled was delicious. Mushroom Flat bread pizza was very good
Food was not impressive at all. I ordered a steak and it was cold. Ambiance was nice. Service was good.
Big Easy is a pleasant and “easy” place to come for a drink or a meal. Attractive setting in Brickell City Center, it’s a nice place to meet friends.
The restaurants itself is nice, great decor and lighting. The appetizers (our group ordered three) were ok all around, the best one by far were the pork belly lollipops. The mini crab cakes were our least favorite. Our group had the burger, which was good, the crab lobster pasta which was great and the filet mignon which was not great. The steak was bland and had no flavor. The outside was charcoaled which gave it a heavy flavor that made the steak inedible. The sides were the best part of the meal we had the Brussel sprouts and the duck fat roasted potatoes. The bread pudding desert was very good. Our waiter forgot to take the birthday boys food order and had to come back once he realized his error. I won’t return as this experience was mediocre After spending $600!
Such a phenomenal dining experience! Our server, Emma, was very knowledgeable, kind and super attentive! The mussels was a dish to die for! The chicken peri peri and the lamb shank dish were also dishes to definitely write home about! I will 100% be back!
My husband and I arrived late on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is practically empty. I have some food allergies, and ask the waiter to help me find what would be best for my dinner. I watched him go over and ask the team of cooks, who all broke out physically grabbing their bellies and hysterically laughing before the waiter came back to me and suggested that aside from the steak there was nothing on the menu that I could eat. At other restaurants of the stature and price point, there is always something that can be done to adjust an item on the menu to accommodate my needs. I am less upset with the fact that the cooks determined that there was nothing they could make for me to eat, but I am apalled at the lack of professionalism and the downright mean nature of them just pretty much laughing in my face. As an aside, I don’t believe that there was nothing they could do to provide food I could eat. I think they didn’t want to, it was an hour from closing time and they just wanted to go home.
Amazing! Great food, friendly service excellent presentation. Over all everything was outstanding!
Overall the food was good . The service could use some work . The resturant host made it seem, that there was so space . And that the resturant was extremely full but it wasn’t . I had reservations so we were seated right away . Otherwise I would recommend it.
The food was way to much, me and my girl ordered Churrasco, and came with a side of over seasoned fries. The steak was burnt with bad flavoring. Two plates of food was over $80. I would not go here ever again.
Great place with exotic food
Great tasting food, lovely crew and at some tables you can sit on a swing!
Food was just ok for the price
It took a long time to get our food
First time visiting there and celebrated our anniversary. We were both very impressed by the portion sizes, flavors, and friendliness of the staff.
We had 2 lunch menus with glasses of the house red wine, which was better then anticipated. Burger and churrasco ordered were good and cooked accordingly to our expectations. Will go again in the future and continue exploring this place.
great place excellent food solid bar will go again
Wine choices were poor for a restaurant with Wine Bar in the name.
The entire staff are over the top professional. Great vibe.
At Ernie Els' wine bar they don't offer his wines. The bartender mentioned they were out of stock but there are none listed on the wine list.
Also the lobster flat bread was lacking lobster to say the least. We opted to leave and have dinner elsewhere.
What a great surprise! I never thought a restaurant in a mall-type venue would be this great. But it was. From the moment we were greeted, I felt staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Their happy hour drink with vodka, mint and cantaloupe was refreshing and a perfect complement to our burger. The burger was cooked to perfection. It was incredibly juicy and tasty with a sweetness to it. If this place was in my home town, I'd be here every week!
We were celebrating a birthday and I noted on the reservation but no one acknowledged it. A few items on the menu were out. The server was rude and not very helpful. She didn’t care about our request. The manager passed by and we told her about it. The server didn’t improve. Food was disappointed, not the Grove Bay Group quality. Is too bad because the restaurant and the concept has a lot of potential, just like the website shows it. Wine list is over priced.
Swing seating was a little bit awkward...had to change tables. other than that had a great experience
Food was good but the place was underwhelming for the occasion. Didn't realize this was the equivalent of a brimstone or other suburban bar and grill. That said if I am in area would go again. My duck was well prepared and the flavors were intense and interesting.
Well first of all it’s not even an Ernie els restaurant any more! They didn’t have one single els wine!!! What’s the point. I’m so sorry we went and wasted a night out dining there!!! Canceled capital grille for that!😡 what a joke !!!q
server was awesome, food was great!
nice ambiance but the food just was not that great. The steak was served almost cold. waiter did hiss best.
Definitely get the pork belly lollipops! Great food and service!
