Big Easy Winebar & Grill
If one term could describe Big Easy, it would be the Afrikaans word of ‘Gesellig’ – sociable with friends, amicable, affably companionable, friendly, convivial, cordial.
Fun and relaxed, it is at the same time, the place to hang out with friends, to a place to take your loved ones for a glass of wine and an unpretentious meal any day of the week.
It is a culinary experience that is first and foremost a superb grill restaurant featuring outstanding meats and fresh local fish, yet inspired by Ernie’s travels around the world and the cultural crossroads of South African Heritage.

Second visit! Outstanding service! Great atmosphere, Great food and Cocktails!!
Service was very poor but other than that the food was high quality. The desserts are especially good
Carlos our waiter was very nice and service was amazing.
Great South African food as well as other Food to offer
I went with my husband because we wanted to try something different. It was wonderful. The decoration, service and food was awesome. The dessert was super yummy! Will go again. Service is included
Ci siamo stati l’ultima l’ultima sera in USA perché volevamo assaporare i gusti locali prima di tornare in Italia. Prezzi alti, soprattutto del vino, ma qualità allineata: hanno fortunatamente kids menu per i bambini. Unica nota negativa non ci hanno portato il pane, quindi siamo rimasti ad aspettare il main course senza nulla da sgranocchiare ...
Loved the fact that for a mall restaurant , it offers a cozy, friendly , tasty and different kind of experience !
The name is deceiving but truly depecting the originality of flavor !
Very unique place in Miami offering a different culture “South African Cuisine”
Had a great time. I ordered the grouper and wife ordered the filet mignon. I wasn't disappointed in the fish but it didn't crack my top 5 dishes. The Durban Bunny Chow is still my favorite!
Service has always been great here and they continue to do a great job. The open table dinner menu was outdated and had an item that was supposed to be lunch only but they were more than happy to accommodate. Many great dishes on the menu and I would especially recommend the lobster ravioli, although the steaks are great also. I would definitely recommend it.
We were greeted by the most personable host at the front door. I’m mad I didn’t catch his name. Jeff was our server and he was such a gem. Our waiter assistant was also very personable. The bartender Alejandro topped off our night and I cannot explain how amazing our experience had been tonight.
The food was phenomenal. We had the lobster lasagna, prawns, and I had the lamb chops. Everything tasted superb, worth every bite. The drinks snuck up on us but made with perfection. Everything on the menu was explained perfectly by Jeff and we felt confident while waiting for our dishes. Everything tasted amazing. We are so impressed. We would highly recommend this restaurant and the service. Thanks for an amazing Sunday night to prepare us for a busy week ahead.
My visit to Big Easy was great. It was such a great experience. I’ve never had South African food and can’t wait to have it once again. I felt so comfortable with the staff they made it feel like home. I can’t wait to go back and looking forward to it. Pork belly lollipops I will see you soon.
I like to try octopus at every restarant i go to. WOW.... Big Easy , hands down has the best. Surpasses Peruvian, Greek, and specialty seafood restaurants. The prawns were the largest and the coconut curry sauce was out of this world. I will be back often.
This is a nice restaurant in Brickell City Center. The Big Easy name made me think this was a New Orleans style restaurant but in fact it claims to be South African cuisine. The entire service team was very nice and the restaurant ran on time. We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes and Lobster Flatbread both appetizers were very good. The entrees were the burger, the grouper, the KC Strip and the Bison Ribeye. The sides were French fries and Brussel Sprouts. While I don't have anything bad to say about the entrees their was nothing really memorable about them either. I believe the restaurant really misses the mark in two areas 1. The french fries tasted like they had thrown every spice in the rack onto them. The waitress confirmed proudly that they had 20 spices in them. Not sure why French fries need 20 spices. They just tasted like "we're trying too hard". The other problem is the bar. You're paying premium bar tab for the bartender to measure out a shot of scotch to pour on the rocks. With restaurants like Hillstone's and DocB's out there pouring generous drinks they need to catch up with the times. I don't mind paying a premium for a good dining experience but they have a lot of work to do to catch up to some of the better restaurants out there. Still trying to figure out what was so South African about the very American cuisine we had in a New Orleans named restaurant. Sorry but this was a one time restaurant for me. The short version is Not bad...Not Great.
The waiter we had was hovering around our table interrupting every few minutes making us very uncomfortable. The staff station was right behind us where we heard servers being reprimanded, swearing and complaining about customers. Very unprofessional. The food was fare but over priced. We will never go back
Great experience again. This time there were 8 of us and we are perfectly attended to. Great meal.
Very loud restaurant, not good for a date. I was seated with the servers station right behind me and I could hear their conversations better than my date. They need to put up a glass screen or something there to avoid that. Mentioned it to our server and he gave me a dirty look.
Excellent waiter in the form of a menu- informed part-time actor. Good lamb chops and Corvina. Great Nero D'avola and Martinis. What's not to like.
Very good. Great location.
Excellent food. Personal having been to South Africa I truly enjoyed the South African inspired menu. There is something for everyone. Wonderful service, reasonably priced, and good portions. The only negative is the wine was overpriced compared to other similarly priced restaurants I've been to. But I would still highly recommend The Big Easy to anyone who wants great service and delicious food.
The BEST restaurant in Brickell City Center hands down!!! The Peri Peri “African Chilli” Chicken is so delicious and you must try the Pork “lollipops”.
Really good food. Apps better then mains. Drinks were great. Bar tender was very nice
Great on Mondays 50% off bottles of wine Amazing food
Food was high qualityand the service was excellent
Great! Delicious peri peri cocktail!
We got there about 9:10pm, got seated right away. The location was a bit difficult to find but had a great view in front of the restaurant on the veranda worth the time it took to locate.
The cuisine was unique, had so much variety and the flavors really were a great combination all around. The service was exceptional had several people come by and check on us various times. Would recommended going close to closing time, we practically had the place to ourselves.
Excellent flavorful food and extremely attentive service. Not cheap but well worth it. We’d come back.
Great experience. Food and service were excellent. We bring visitors from out of town to the Big Easy. This was my 2nd visit and loved it as much as the first. Peppardelle (sp) shrimp was fantastic and I highly recommend their Big Easy burger! We will be back.
Great new restaurant with excellent and very interesting cuisine, great South African wines and terrific wait staff. Will definitely return.
Overly spiced food. When you can’t taste the potato or pork but just the spice, it’s not good.
It was very good. The food was perfectly made especially our steaks. The soup was good but it wasn’t as good as other places we’ve have had it in. Butternut Squash— he fries were just fries nothing fabulous. Dessert was good we had red velvet waffles
Our first trip to Big Easy as we were intrigued by the South African cuisine. We were disappointed in the service as it was fairly slow and inattentive. The concept of the open kitchen is interesting but then you also see how long the food sits out before being brought to the table. Unfortunately one was mine - flank steak - flavoring was very good, served medium rare as order, but had cooled down. One thing I'd definitely recommend are the pork belly appetizer. - great value for $10. Not sure if we'll go back.
Food was amazing and the service matched it
Every dish my wife and I had last night from the appetizers to the main course to the desert was simply outstanding!! One of the best restaurants we’ve been to in the city and very reasonably priced. Going back tonight with the entire family. I would give this restaurant my highest recommendation!!
Food was excellent. Loved the appetizers. The pub belly , this sausages were delicious., The bread pudding too.
Head the corvina tat was good.
The place is beautiful, it’s spacious. The decor nice and the food is tasteful. For lunch they have better pricing. For dinner it’s expensive. Good for dates , family, friends.
It was a excellent choice for a fun evening. Great service
The food and drinks were amazing! We got the big easy burger and an old fashioned. The ambiance was so nice. We are defiantly going back!
Must get the pork belly lollipops - excellent
The old fashion with the house bourbon was great.
We shared the bison- was a juicy tender cut.
Side of Brussels sprouts with bacon
They were out of the Nutella bread pudding but supposedly that is their top dessert.
