Big Daddy’s – Upper West Side
Overall, it was okay but there are definitely better places that have similar menus and ambiance styles to this. The food was decent, but sometimes it felt like it was a hit or a miss. The service was the worst part of it all. We had to ask for utensils because we weren't given any and the waitress never asked us how we were, how the food was, if we needed anything, or anything.
Big Daddy’s had amazing food and service. The waiter josh was great and made sure everyone was pleased. Overall 10/10!!
we had to leave. they had no heat and it was colder inside as it was outside.
the few diners who were there were sitting with their coats on.
the servers were shivering.
i ordered a cup of coffee and when i didn't feel any warmer i asked the waiter and he said their heat was down.
i felt sorry for the waiter who was very gracious and comped my coffee.
I love the atmosphere the people the food at Big Daddy's Restaurant. I have no complaints just compliments for this establishment you have a great thing going keep up the good work
Nous avions réservé et avons fait 1h de métro pour y arriver avec 3 enfants. Le restaurant était fermé alors que nous avions un mail de réservation. Super soirée de réveillon de nouvel an !
The tuna melt was fantastic and thanks to the giant TVs I got all caught up with what Liam is up to on The Bold and The Beautiful.
Went on Christmas Day for lunch. Needed a place that was kid friendly. Nothing fancy. It’s basically a diner. Food was decent, service was excellent. Prices were fair. I would recommend for anyone looking for a quick bite on the upper west side.
I use to take my 2 daughters to this restaurant all of the time. Now they are young ladies and asked to have Christmas brunch. The waitress was very pleasant, but there were only 2 waitresses, so service was super slow and the food was extremely disappointing. Needless to say we will not be back there.
Great diner experience with good America style food and reasonably priced for nyc
Food was mediocre to bad, service was the same.
My partner and I went to Big Daddy’s (Broadway location) for dinner. He ordered a burger with tots and I got the buffalo mac. I’m a big fan of mac and cheese and I expected the dish to be outstanding given all of the hype on social media. However, I felt that the mac and cheese was bland. The buffalo chicken tenders were good but they didn’t pair well with the macaroni and cheese the way I expected it to.
I ordered a “big” buffalo mac but I really should have ordered a “lil”. My boyfriend said that his burger and tots were good, not great. We will not be returning for dinner.
Given that it’s diner-styled food, I think we would have had a better food experience ordering breakfast there. Their pancakes all look amazing! We may be back to try some breakfast dishes.
Finally, our server was kind and attentive.
The waitress was kind and caring
It was delicious. I had the Real Mac Coy, a burger with creamy mac n cheese & bacon. I also had the Cookie Monster, vanilla shake with oreo cookies & whipped cream. Everything tasted good here. I would definitely recommend.
The worst dining experience we’ve ever had. No heat and it was 25 degrees outside. No servers. It took more than an hour for hamburgers and pancakes. Unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. Should be called Big Disaster’s
For my birthday I got a coupon from big daddy’s for a free entree and milkshake it was super delicious!
This is a great restaurant. Great for dates, to celebrate a birthday, or to simply go out to eat with your family and friends. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicious with great portion sizes.
It was awesome
Great place for kids. The nostalgia was great for adults. Pure comfort food. Dynamite margeritas!!!
Very good. Food took a while, but was tasty
I went to Big Daddy’s for my birthday and I absolutely enjoyed myself. The food was amazing the, staff was friendly. Everything was good.
This was my second time dining at Big Daddy's. Both times, the venue was selected by someone else. Personally I would not have dined here again. But sometimes you have to go with the flow. The restaurant has a 1950s theme, and there is abundant and garish decor, perhaps to distract you from the food and service. The portions are huge, but unfortunately the food quality is mediocre at best. Some of the food was not fresh at all --- I was served fruit that must have been cut several days before and then left out to rot. We also had to leave our table and send out members of our party several times to try to get our own service, find missing parts of our order, and resolve quality or cleanliness problems, as our server could not be found or was overwhelmed due to bad management. Overall I cannot recommend this restaurant.
Great breakfast! Yummy taster tots with all sorts of goodies! Fun atmosphere.
We were 6 meeting for brunch. The place is a bit run down, bathrooms not great. Food was fair at best, for the price, there are much better options.
Chicken and waffles and Mac and cheese were AMAZING!
Service was great. There was attentive staff and quality food. There was a little mess up with the checks but we got it figured out. Overall great experience.
I loved our waitress.
Great pop decor throughout restaurant. Very 50's and 60's inspired but, very today and hip. Burgers are delicious and tater tots are a "take you back in time" treat. Milk shakes are out of this world and deliciously extravagant. Weight staff was very savvy and helped our group with food choices.
The music was a bit too loud but, that is to be expected in a diner like this one.
Over priced for the food, poor service. We got some of our food then we got the rest a half hour later. They messed up our drinks and didn’t cook anything from the check. Crappy service for sure!
My Waiter Josh or George I can't remember but he was the best he connected with the kids his patience was amazing I would go back just for him. Great kid's menu so much to choose from thank you Big Daddy.
My family and friends love it here!
Absolutely amazing, we came from Galloway NJ, had a reservation for 8 and was seated immediately. Our food came out fast and delicious, the place is so comfortable with conversation pieces all over, the lunch boxes definitely took us down memory lane. I loved it and will definitely be back❤️❤️
We come here with the kids once in a while. Food is really good across the menu. Shakes and tater tots a must. On the flip side, the service is almost always terribly, terribly slow. We usually order everything we want as soon as we make contact with a waitress/waiter. If you plan for slow service then you'll have a good experience with excellent food in large portions. We'll be back.
Classic breakfast ....huge servings. The best tater tots ever!!!! Will definitely return
This was my first time there but if i listen to my family especially my kids this will not be the last time. we were celebrating my two year old birthday and i chose it because i read it was good for kids. i think that whether you are a kid or a adult you would enjoy this place. the food and the staff made it very comfortable and my family had a great time and a full belly. all parties were fast asleep as soon as we got home.
Ignored when we arrived. Finally sat down. No menus. They bring them 15 minutes later after we had to ask. Takes forever to order. And even longer for the food to arrive. Was cold because it sat around waiting for the waitress to get it. Awful awful awful
First time dining. Exceeded my expectations. Had a blast.
It’s what you’d reasonably expect from a diner joint.
Pro: sweet potato tater tots
Con: sticky floors, tables, and seats
I’d go again if I happened to be in that part of NY, had nowhere else to eat, and was extremely hungry.
I normally do enjoy this place very much. In fact, it has become a tradition amongst my friends and i to come here on a special date every year. However, this year, although our milkshakes were quite delicious, they took forever to arrive. We had to wait three hours for food. Maybe they were just having a bad day? I hope next time there will be less of a wait. Otherwise, this is a great place with a great vibe.
Using Open Table was a trial, and ridiculous given the place was only half full. Couldn't get an ice cream soda- they didn't make them. Waitress never heard of an egg cream or a frappe. Gave recipe for an egg cream and actually DID get what was an ice cream soda! Came here for the su-pposed 50's vibe of the East Side location, only to find decor was of the 60's, staff was ignorant and inattentive when they ween't being rude and unfriendly as well, aside from our wonderful waitress. Noise was exceedingly loud, pace was frantic -- altogether disappointing
