Took two hours to get our meal while other tables sat, ordered and left . I think they forgot to put in the order. Otherwise food was good but when it finally arrived we weren’t very hungry anymore.
My appetizer was the Asian wings which I absolutely loved! Their house salad and dressing was to die for, my snapper was excellent. Service was very good! We will definitely be back!
It's typically a little noisy, so don't dine there for intimate conversation or a meeting; otherwise a great location for walking around after on Los Olas; menu variety is great, burgers to entrees.
Manual our waiter was super!! As well as the rest of the staff.
Everything was alright. No complaints. Food was decent, server was nice. Food came out quick. Pricey for the quality of the food.
Excellent NY Strip Steak love the Flatbread
Fun place in great location on las olas but very very slow service. Our waitress was was very nice but had too many tables to take care of. Shorthanded!
Great brunch place! Reasonable bottomless mimosas. Perfect spot on Las Olas. One of our favs!
This was our 2nd time here. The first was very good but tonight was disappointing. The food took very long to get out to us and it was only fair.
Four of us had dinner here knowing they had great flat screens that we could watch some college basketball. The food was great. A little noisy, but it was a lively fun place to be.
Not the first time we have dined here ... never disappoints ... always a variety of options from elaborate dishes to sandwiches to finger food ... dine for brunch / lunch / afternoon snack / happy hour / dinner / late night meal. Food is wholesome, tasty, fresh ... menu is eclectic ... service is friendly and professional ... venue offers everything from people watching on Las Olas to an intimate table in the back.
Love the atmosphere along with the food. We took our cousin from California to eat. We had a great time and waitress was great!
Our server, from Rio, was amazing, thanks!
Great casual tavern with a diverse menu, prompt service, and fun atmosphere.
went for las olas art festival, great seats, awesome food and service, unlimited mimosas, highly recommend
Always reliable and delicious!
excellent food, service atmosphere. will return again
Good food. We were 6 people and found it difficult to have conversation because of gr noise level. Great service from a terrific waiter
It was good but the server was awful they were dead but she was sitting behind our table. Sitting in a booth chatting food was great and came out fast but waited for drink refills and our check
Great ambiance right on Las Olas. Very good food although a little salty were the scallops but still good. Excellent waiter named, JOHN. What a difference a great waiter makes!
I do think the chairs at least where we sat up front near the street need to be replaced. Too low.
Food was surprisingly very good. Had the Swordfish special and really enjoyed it. Cooked perfectly and not easy to do with swordfish. Down in FL for the weekend and wasn't that aware of the restaurant. My wife and I both enjoyed it. She just had a burger but said it was really good as well. They forgot to bring out a salad we ordered but not a big deal. They were very busy.
Great place for brunch! Bottomless drinks, great food!
I've been going to this restaurant for years...love the location, food & ambiance!!
We had a great time! Our server was super nice. The food was really good and we enjoyed our time together.
Food was great! wide menu so there is something for everyone,.Started with Italian flat bread which was enough for 4 people to share,,excellent! Scallops and risotto in cooked to perfection, house special of linguine and pesto very flavorful, salads were definitely large enough for a meal and the beef and lettuce cups were delicious. Decent wine list, great expresso martinis. A little loud , and at 10:00pm it was still slamming. Not ideal for a romantic date, but terrific for a late dinner with friends.
Everything is great about Big City Tavern. A perfect choice on Las Olas Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale.
Great place to eat. Our server Madea was patient with my boys. Can’t ask for better service
Great ambiance, delish food and good drinks! Would recommend for locals and tourists to try.
Usually very good. Maybe holiday weekend made it a little “blah”. Nothing really bad, nothing really good! Just a Ho Hummer!
Excelente time with friends . Fantastic food . Great wine
The person who takes care of your table sets the tone for the evening. We very nicely asked this individual if she was our waitress. She responded in a sarcastic tone “we are not called that any more”. We then said, ah waitperson. She once again said, no, I am now called your server. Does going out to dinner now include a “learning experience” on words we should use in Ft Lauderdale. We were from Florida & New York. perhaps this restaurant should send out a list of words that are appropriate for their restaurant. Or the wait staff should be directed not to cause embarrassment to paying customers or cause that customer discomfort.
Went pretty early for a Sunday and it was quiet and not busy. Service was good but not very strong on their mimosa refill game. By 11am it was very crowded!
Great location on Las Olas good food great service all around fun place
The food was excellent as usual. I had the pork chop which was fabulous. My wife had the short ribs which she loved. We started with the Prawn Special appetizer that was good, but not up to the standard of the entrees.
some really fun menu options, including prosciutto avocado toast (delish) and short rib grill cheese (great idea, poor execution). Even going peak lunch (12:15 reservation) we weren't rushed and service was great.
Great service and delicious drinks. Not too many choices for lunch. Felt a little limited.
We took my Mom out for dinner before going to see Wicked at the Broward Center for Performing Arts and the entire meal - from the homemade foccacia bread to the delectable caramel cream dessert (similar to creme brulee but without the hard sugar topping) and espresso and biscotti with ice cream dessert - was incredibly delicious! The ambiance was perfect - we arrived around 5:30pm and got a table on the outside patio along Las Olas. The restaurant was relatively quiet and empty when we arrived but by the time we left it was packed inside and outside. Parking was conveniently located close by and the choice of entrees was truly impressive - from pasta to seafood to beef or chicken or lamb. The cocktail menu was also quite impressive and I enjoyed a "flight" of specialty cocktails - enjoyed this option compared to the usual flight of beer or wine options only. Our server was also very attentive and made the experience that much better with her recommendations off the menu and descriptions that sounded like they came straight from a Food Network show! I wish I could remember her name -
I thought I saved my receipt to submit her name but now I can't seem to find it. Will definitely go back next time we are in Fort Lauderdale.
The interior decor was interesting/eclectic; the vibe was energetic. Complimentary bread was good - clearly fresh and baked on premises. Wine by the glass list was very good. We had a very long wait between our starters and entrees 'because of a large party' - the manager and waitress both explained/apologized. I had ordered duck confit paparedelle and had not realized that it was a pasta dish. They offered to replace it but given that we had waited so long for our meals I didn't want to slow down the rest of the table. I'm on restricted diet so I just ate the duck and not the pasta. I didn't complain. The manager however came over and apologized and 'comp'ed' my meal and offered free dessert. I was very impressed by this gesture. The rest of my party enjoyed their meals.
The food was great, drinks were tasty and service was good
Went with a few girlfriends for Valentine's Day. We were last minute looking for a restaurant to go to that could seat us at a reasonable time. Big City was all that was available on Open Table, so we took it. We were pleasantly surprised. It was definitely not what we were expecting. Our service was fantastic. Our food came out timely and accurately (a rarity for Valentine's day) and it was well presented and tasted fabulous. The atmosphere was lively, but that is what we were after. This is not a place to go on a quiet romantic date. This is a laugh as loud as you want, get me another glass of wine kind of place!
