Our server was pleasant, helpful, and professional. The primes was spotless and we enjoyed our evening.
Patio was full so we ate inside. Tables were well socially distanced. DJ music selection was old school goodness & energizing but not too loud that conversation was difficult.
Limited beer menu due to COVID which is a shame as the main reason to go, for me at least, is the beer, but still had a pleasant dinner.
Went to watch the Raptors game and recieved the only table with no views of the screen, the hostesses and servers were insanely rude and dismissive . Would never go back. We keep walking and spent about 500 at another establishment. Sorry.
Great protocols in place to feel safe amid Covid-19. Servers wore masks and very good spacing. Great service and enjoyed the visit.
Overall just 'ok'. Pretzels are way too salty, pizza wasn't great, and service seemed slow.
Went for a birthday, service was excellent
The venue was great and its a very nice place for a date night, bar hang outs or just a good time. The music was pretty weak. And the service was really slow. The waitress was nice its just the wait time to get drinks/meals or any type of service was at least 20 minute intervals. At one point I had to get up and go to the bar myself for a drink because our waitress was nowhere in sight. Overall, the Branding was great and so was the ambience. Just pack your patience.
A good meal, vibrant patio, DJ was good, nice service.
Food and drinks were delicious! Amazing service as well. My friends and I really enjoyed ourselves 10/10 would recommend!
Been to other Bier Market locations and this didn’t live up to past experience. Food was so so.
We loved the hospitality and cleanliness in the space
You can't have a table at the patio if you made a reservation. Inside the pub was very dark. The welcome was not very warm.
The food was amazing, and somehow made better by our waitress. I wish I knew her name, but she was excellent
Always a hit with birthday celebrations. I love the variety of options for drinks and food.
Always a solid choice lots of options and great beer
We've been several times over the past couple of years and the Bier Markt is one of our top choices to go alone or to take guests. One of our children lives just a few blocks away so convenient to have a lazy weekend lunch. The food is outstanding as well as the service. Thanks!
Great selection from both the bar & food menus. The food was delicious and plentiful. Great value and a fun atmosphere to dine in.
Staff were awesome with our larger group. A couple of food errors that they quickly fixed. Made our family gathering extra great.
We did not have a great experience here. When we arrived, there was no one there to greet us at the door. After waiting, we got brought to a table and our server was nice and friendly. She took our orders promptly. A male brought out our drink samplers ans split a drink on my lap. He continued to talk about the beer without even making a comment or offering an apology for the mess or drink. I had to ask another server for more napkins. Our food was brought out but it was nothing too great. Our server tried to take it away while we were still eating as she never asked if we were finished with it. It was also on the reservation that it was a birthday celebration and nothing was done for that. Overall- it was a poor experience for us.
Terrible flavorless food. Expensive. Watch the bartender sloppily pour liquor and mix drinks . Surprised as the old restaurant there was so good.
As a reasonable person I would not recommend to anyone seeking this as a meeting location but rather a last resort
Food was ok but nothing special.
One of nearby TV's was broken, which was a mild annoyance.
The wait staff were working hard but clearly having a hard time keeping up with the pre-Leafs's game rush.
Nothing was particularly bad but there really wasn't much to make it worth recommending, either.
Great ambiance and really good food. Our server was nice, but the service was slow. I’d dine there again, but not if I was in a rush or headed to one of the nearby theatres.
I come here to try new beers and they don’t have them... really? My dad is Belgian and he was surprised that not even a Duvel or Leffe was in stock. He wanted oysters too and none... Not coming to this location anymore. Especially since this has happened more than 3 times already.
We booked a table to watch the raptors game on OpenTable and when got to the restaurant were told they have overbooked! We were offered a table with no TV view and after 20 minutes of conversation with the manager and staff we agreed to seat at the bar!
We did that but they refused to play the game as they only can play one game at the time and another game was played!
I've never seen sport bar with just one receiver! The worst part is during our conversation to find a table I told then multiple times we are there to watch the game and were told they will play it.
Won't go to this location ever again.
It was hard to hear each other talk in the restaurant. The seats were angled to where I kept sliding down my seat and the table was wobbly. We asked to be moved and our server said she can’t do that. She would walk past us and I saw her go to the same table 3 times before she approached us. Didn’t ask how our meal was and didn’t ask if we needed another drink. I like the food Bier Markt has and if
I want to go back I’ll be going to the Don Mills location, not the Esplanade.
Great food, service was a bit slow, but it was a busy night
Not pleased that I could not get the beer that I have ordered many times in the past. Innis & Gunn
Had the burger. Not as good as I’ve had in the past
I was sitting by myself, waiting for family to arrive, and ignored for 15 minutes while wait staff cleared empty tables and ignored customers. Priorities? Our hot food arrived before our salads and our party wasn’t served at the same time. We won’t be back
It was very loud and difficult to talk. Consider installing some sound baffles.
Our server never smiled and was not attentive at all. Pizza was good but the beef dip tasted bland.
The service was not what I expected. I will not choose to have my yearly holiday event there again. The food was ok, and, as expected the beer inventory was good, just wish service level was better.
It was WAY too loud for a 6pm dinner. Felt like we were in a club. I won't be heading there for dinner anytime soon.
I mean, I'm not even old and I still found it so unnecessarily loud. No thanks.
Food was plenty, beer was great and server was delightful
Excellent ambiance and service. Extensive selection of beer. Tremendous time had by all. Will definately go again and recommend to friends.
Overall the experience was ok! I found the service very slow. My guests arrived and were seated before me, they said they waited for a while for the server to arrive before placing their drink order. I experienced the same, I’m not sure that it was the servers fault but that he perhaps had more tables then he could handle.
Our meal of schnitzel was delish, we a ordered a chicken and pork and I was hot, perfectly cooked and wonderful.
Our app was the cheese dip and pretzels, loads of cheese dip.
We were approached by the hostess saying that the table we were in as to be vacated due to another reservation but she’d relocate us. I said we were ok, to get our bill, she said she’d tell the waiter. Well it was 20 minutes before he came by with our bill.
No one was pushing us out, so not sure what the whole thing was that we needed to leave but anyway...
It was Friday, it was busy but in my opinion it was just an ok experience.
Going to the bier markt on a Monday night one can I expect the place to be empty which it was.
The waiter was busy I'll see what serving multiple tables at the same time. The attached brewery side was empty as well. The place also boasts happy hour from 4 to 6 and then 9 to closing , selected drinks are $6. Those are real stupid hours for happy hour. The attitude I got for ordering a drink before had home saying I see if I can squeeze it in. it's not my fault that I was waiting in my chair for 15 minutes before I was served.
The service was slower than usual and the food is nothing to write home about. This place is mostly for the beer I'm assuming. We quickly in her meal chatted and went to check out the other restaurants on the Esplanade.
We end up going to the Tilted kilt a few doors down I was also disappointed because they changed the dress code of the waitresses to normal clothes. That place was also empty.
Will try to beer market on King next time or the one in Don Mills. I'm hoping for a better experience.
I made a reservation on Open Table to celebrate my birthday. Reservation was for 8 people initially. My party size grew to 15 and I wasn't able to increase the reservation to that size off Open Table so I called the restaurant directly. This was all a week before the actual reservation. My request was happily accommodated on the phone when I requested the larger party size.
On the day of my actual reservation, I had a terrible experience. The restaurant got us a table for around 10 people, forcing us all the squish together uncomfortably. This would have been fine of the service was good but unfortunately it was not. Our server seemed overwhelmed and visibly upset from the get go. We were not a rowdy group, everyone was sitting and socializing appropriately. We were kind and understanding to the server knowing it's always tough when you have a large group.
We were there for 2 hours and in that time the restaurant was only able to get us all 2 rounds of drinks. They kept claiming the bar and kitchen were backed up. Only a couple people even wanted food, most were just there for drinks. We all had to nurse our drinks for almost an hour before the server got around to placing additional orders.
Experiences like this matter. I trusted the restaurant to be able to provide a good experience for me as I planned and celebrated my birthday but I got the opposite. We all prematurely closed out our bills and had to find another place to celebrate. In the process we wasted hours.
I will most certainly not be going back to Bier Markt.
It was fine.
