Bier Markt - Don Mills (Toronto)
Great service, awesome beer selection. Good variety of seasonal beer.
We usually enjoy our visits to Bier Markt - so decided yo go for our daughters birthday.
The server did not acknowledge the birthday - despite the reminder :(
Food was mediocre - schnitzels were over cooked, spaetzle was cold (obviously left under the warming lights too long).
Average dinner at best. With so many options at Shops at Don Mills, it will be a long while before we return to BM.
Good environment for a nice dinner with friends. Food was great, and had an excellent wait staff. Would highly recommend
Nobody asked for my scene it card and when I asked they said too late
Also what is with processed cheese slices on a burger?😢
Came here as the Jack Astors is being renovated. Been here once before and food is really good and consistent. Our server was very good. The food took quite a bit longer than expected after we ordered. All in all we liked it and will return.
Everything was very good, menu for food items was limited....but good.
Not a great experience. Ordered sharing board to start. Very small portions and choice of food items for sharing board has become limited to cheese or meat. More choices offered in the past. Came with one slice of bread cut in two for whole plate but server did offer to bring more bread if needed (was needed). Not many vegetarian options (ie a veggie burger would be a welcome addition). Portions small for the price. Wouldn't rush back.
Incredible beer selection and my Caesar came with charcuterie on a stick. We got a sharing platter to start and the duck wings which were incredible. I had the markt burger which was so perfect in succulent but very hard to eat because it's large and was falling apart because they use full leaf lettuce which makes everything slide. My boyfriend had the beef dip which was outstanding! We had a bunch of drinks and I would definitely recommend this place. They are really lacking on dessert though so you may want to go somewheres else in the plaza fpr that. There is a creme brulee and the flourless chocolate cake with gelato, and I had a hard root beer which also came with a little bit of cake and ice cream.
I always enjoyed Bier Markt, I had been to a few before but when I met my fiance our first date was here and it became "our place" and 5 years later we are still going and this time on valentines.
I am a beer lover which attracted to bier market in the first place. The food is great for what it is, they try to be a little upscale but it is a german bistro.
They do a decent job on the schnitzel, a large portion as it should be.
Had the Vday prix fixe menu and loved it! Thanks to our server Roxy
The Chicken Schnitzel was delicious and the portion was enormous ! Good value for your money!
After an hour, we had only been served appetizers and drinks. Over an hour wait for main course. The person beside us (who came after us) were served before us. Everything was a bit salty. I would not recommend unless you enjoy seeing waitresses with their skirts barely covering their behinds. On the up side... the beer was good!
wish there were many veg option in winterlisicious
Lunch was great, a very laid back atmosphere with a great server who made great suggestions. The menu and descriptions are so enticing you want to try everything. Will definitely be back to try something new. Beer selection is outstanding.
Excellent food and good service. The staff was friendly and helpful.
A bit too dark - could barely see the menu, even using the candle that was on the table.
Food was excellent, value for your money. Location is good except parking was a bit of a challenge if you are not familiar with the area. Definitely will come back to eat.
Lunch with Co Workers for Winterlicious. It was great, everyone enjoyed the food and service was great.
Hubby and I had a date night at Bier market trying out their Winterlicious dinner menu! Our server Michelle is excellent and attentive. However, the food was only so so!
We tried drunken duck wings (good), market salad (good) as appetizer. We had chicken schnitzel (only ok.. little disappointed) and Portifino Mussels (my hubby said it was tasteless) as our main course.
Flourless chocolate cake and crepe brûlée was tasty! My fav of the night was the cider Mojoto which was perfecto.
Might give it another try if we happen to be in the area in the future as service was awesome!
Interesting appetizers, yummy main courses, and very decent desserts.
Server was helpful, efficient, and friendly.
I came to Bier Markt- Don Mills to celebrate my birthday with a group of 10 friends. We had a great time. Our server was kind and attentive. The bar at one point was a bit slow and we had to wait for our drinks but not a big deal. Food was good and so was dessert. It gets very loud on a Saturday night after 9 or 10pm if there is a live band, so keep that in mind if you are looking for a place to sit down and chat.
We had a horrible experience. Our server did not come to our table after 15 minutes upon arrival, when asked if we can get the bill she rolled her eyes and showed attitude. Will not be returning. Will be going to Joey from now on.
Took more than 30 minutes for the appetizer to come and they were small.
The pizza is not pizza, it’s flatbread. The bacon on the ‘pizza’ is not bacon, it’s jiggly little cubes of flavourless fat.
One server for the while restaurant so service was obviously slow but he was doing his best and was friendly
Food overpriced and subpar
Great food and big selection of beverages. Bar area has some big screens to watch sports.
We experienced top notch service as usual. The food was hot and delicious, even though we found the batter on the fish and chips was much too salty to eat (the server apologized sincerely and comped is for half the entree without us asking for it). We were expecting a loud atmosphere, but on this particular night one of our table neighbours was probably the loudest man on the earth! I would still come back for the service, the beers, and the food.
Pizza and server were amazing. Huge pretzel was over cooked and chewy.
Great food. The dessert was really good. The server was great always checking on us
This was my sixth visit to Bier Markt - reliably excellent - come hungry!
We have been several times. Our server, Kat, was excellent. She spaced the courses as we asked and made it easy for us to share. The calamari appetizer was very good and the pork schnitzel is always tasty especially the gravy. The only disappointment was we asked in our Open table reservation for a booth table in a specific area of the restaurant but was told by the hostess none available. Finally we were given a booth table on the other side. The mystery was for the whole time we were there, just over 2 hours, there was a table that remained empty where we originally requested. Fortunately, Kat's positive customer service approach made our visit enjoyable.
Friendly waiter. Lots to choose from the menu. Good food. I love coming here.
Tina the server was amazing and it was a big group - she did amazing
Our server was very personable. She remembered most of our names which was a nice touch for a large group
Food quality has gone way down and the prices have gone up
Service was great
The waitress was unorganized, she forget our drinks so we had to remind her multiple times to bring those. After ordering food, she kept asking if we wanted to wait on other friends to order or if she should process our order, and I told her to process my order at 9 pm and she didn’t do that until 9:40 pm. And I ordered the battered fish and fries, the batter was so thick on the fish, the fish slipped out and was not edible and bland – I didn’t even finish my food.
Terrible service, very slow, non attentive.
Too loud with live band to have a conversation
The service was very good and friendly. Our server Roxy was excellent. The food was very tasty. Although its pizza is not Neapolitan wood burning style it was very good. We also had the pork schnitzel - again not the traditional breading but excellent - the gravy was great. We will go again. Make sure to check the daily specials.
