Bida Manda Restaurant and Bar
Our parents' recipes are the inspiration for our menu. Every dish on our menu is exactly what we grew up eating. They are the kind of dishes you might find on the street corners of Luang Prabang and at a Laotian home.

Excellent, as always. Thank you for helping is celebrate our engagement. ❤ You made us feel special.
Wonderful as always. The staff is courteous and attentive, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. And of course, the food is delicious.
I enjoyed everything, my wife does not like spicy or curry so she found it more of a challenge. The place was not quiet at all, I could barely here my wife talking 1/2 the time. The food was very hot temp wise which is unusual for most restaurants. Flavor profiles were awesome, the pork belly soup was just great. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
The pork belly soup is now a family favorite! The flavors are phenomenal together!! We come here for special occasions but wished we lived closer. The service is always top notch and loved our waitress Sat evening 9/8. She really made our daughters 19th birthday special with the dessert trio!! The only recommendation is for the noise level to be reduced so conversations are easier. That won't keep us from coming back though!!
The wait was too long without proper waiting space and the seating was very uncomfortable. Food was averagely palatable and way too pricey. Not worth it
Service and food were awesome as usual, we will be back soon. Bida Manda doesn’t miss
Second time I’ve been and it was amazing. Had the chicken curry! So freaking good! Also the spring rolls are super good. Will definitely be going back!
Amazing as always
I was meaning to go to this place for a long time and finally got a chance to visit. The ambiance was good, the drinks were awesome ( we ordered two shaved ice drinks and it was strong but good). My husband ordered see bass wok which was delicious and I ordered whole baked fish which came with ton of yummy vegetables and rice, but the fish was not seasoned properly, no salt no pepper and the sauce it came with was super sweet. I always prefer tangy and spicy sauce with my fish, so I hope if they read this review, in the future they have more than one option for sauce to choose.
Awesome experience. Our server , Jess, was fantastic and made us feel at home. The entire staff and overall experience greatly exceeded our expectations!
Always wonderful food and fantastic wait staff. The experience is consistently special and the atmosphere is lovely. We took out of town guests for my husbands 50th birthday. Perfect choice.
Food was delicious and service was good. Would definitely recommend and eat again!
Excellent service and the food was outstanding. Everything we ordered was delicious.
Always a favorite! We tried the crepe this time and it did not disappoint. I do think their desserts could be improved - not a fan of eating more rice-based desserts after rice with dinner. Sorbet would be a nice addition. (hint hint)
The food was amazing great flavors and prepared well. The restaurant was a bit noisey for me but not to bad and the portions were a little to small, thats really the only if you can say negative. Overall excellent would come again.
Southern asian good with western twist. Very interesting though it is bit salty to my taste.
Dinner for three. My birthday although I didn't expect any considerations they brought to the table a sampling of desserts that each was very good. I had asked for cilantro considerations for a party member who has a allergy/genetic aversion to - that was well addressed. The experience was great. The menu calls me to come back because there are so many good items. I could see coming at lunch being a good experience as well.
It’s our favorite restaurant in Raleigh! We’ve had everything on the menu! Favorites are, of course the Crispy Porkbelly Soup and the Whole Fish! Wow!
Food was delicious! We had a late seating (9:15pm) and the waiter, while wonderful while he was present, seemed a little scarce towards the end. Example, empty plates sat on the table a little longer than expected. That said, I recommend eating here.
We were not impressed with the food or service. Appetizers were ok but entrees were too spicy and too salty. Chicken was poor quality
I love everything about this beautiful oasis.
We have lunch meetings here frequently....and the food is always great!
This was a fun place with good food and a fun vibe. However the acoustics are very poor. We were in probably the quietest corner of the restaurant on a Tuesday evening and sitting next to each other and it was really hard to hear each other. Loud raucous laughter and shouting to be heard over the din, came from all of the tables.
The server was great and personable and the food was good, albeit pricey for Thai/Laotian.
First, the good news... the food was wonderful! No complaints at all about the service. If you don’t mind a noise level that is so loud you can’t hear yourself think, then you may enjoy Bida Manda. Too bad that Open Table’s highest level for a noise rating is “energetic” because that does not describe the roar here. It saps ones energy. Eating here is the opposite of relaxing—it’s nerve wracking! Come on, Bida Manda! Surely you can do better!! The decor is shabby, with the dry wall behind the row of chairs showing a literal trench where the chairs have banged against it... any contractor could suggest an easy fix for that! After touching the menus, I had to wash my hands, as it looks like the same paper has been used for years. And, again (from my previous reviews), either do not wear dark clothes here or bring your own napkin!
The meal was amazing! This place never lets us down.
Everything was amazing!!
The atmosphere was lovely and the food was to die for. My husband and I will be back for sure.
This is a favorite of my wife and I. We usually explore different places. We avoid franchises and going to places more than once but we cant stay away from here. Everything we have ever tried is great. The Curry, Green Papaya Salad with filet, coconut soup, summer rolls, sausage, pad thai, sea bass, larb, and ginger ribs. This place is amazing.
Great service and delicious food! We will definitely be back again
Had a great anniversary dinner. The service wasn't super attentive, but this was the first time we've experienced slow service. We had 2 appetizers, beer, entrees and a celebration dessert provided by BM. The food was amazing as always!
Always my favorite. Brought guest from out of town because the food is just super. Fresh, delicious, unique
My favorite restaurant in Raleigh! Great food and great service.
The food is always very flavorful and enjoyable. The service was also great. We enjoy dining at Bida Manda and will be back. It’s a great that it’s in Raleigh!!
I heard great things about this restaurant and it lived up to those expectations and more. I had the pork soup (forget actual name) and it blew me away with how good it was.
I'd recommend this place to anyone who comes by Raleigh, but just make a reservation a day or so prior to be on the safe side.
This restaurant is very over-rated, I see it on top 5 restaurants in Raleigh lists all the time and hear the buzz about it. So maybe I had really high expectations? The food was average and overpriced, the drinks were poorly made. The best part of our experience was the service provided by our server. For us it was our first and last visit unfortunately.
Service was excellent & food was delicious. Lettuce wraps are delicious. Summer rolls we're really good. The pork belly soup was great, just be prepared for a sodium overload. A little on the pricy side for a casual dinner but great for a date or special occasion.
Second visit here and it was just as outstanding as the first. This is one of the best restaurants in Raleigh. Service was impeccable. Food was delicious. Reservation needed!
I was introduced to Bida Manda during a blind date. The date didn’t last, but my love for Bida Manda did. When family and friends visit, Bida Manda is a must stop. Always exceptional!
Fabulous! Cliff was amazing as was the food. The saffron crepe was spectacular.
Awesome authentic food! Really interesting! Appretzers should not be skipped!
