Bida Manda Restaurant and Bar
Our parents' recipes are the inspiration for our menu. Every dish on our menu is exactly what we grew up eating. They are the kind of dishes you might find on the street corners of Luang Prabang and at a Laotian home.

Awesome authentic food! Really interesting! Appretzers should not be skipped!
Bida Manda is 100% worth the hype. Can’t wait to go back!
Loved the in house made sausage and the pork belly soup!
Delicious, complex flavors. Fascinating presentation. Superb service.
Really Yummy!! We love the papaya noodles. Complimentary desert was very tasty.
The food and atmosphere were perfect for a nice date night. Everyone was smiling, nice, and helpful with great suggestions. Every bite was delicious. The noise level was comfortable. Didn’t have to yell across the table as we have with some of the other popular restaurants around. Had a great time with amazing food. Will definitely go back!
I think the food was excellent however the price was a little too steep, compared to other similar restaurants. Friendly staff and it was a great experience overall!
Food was unreal!
Delicious, as always. We enjoyed the wonderful sangria, tom ka gai soup, and green papaya salad with filet mignon. Great light summer dining. I didn’t have it tonight, but I always recommend the larb. I dream about the tom ka gai!
Terrific meal (per usual). Great flavor, fantastic service.
Bida Manda looked large in my mind based on friends’ recommendations, and the owners touching story which was beautifully captured in a podcast. My wife and I are foodies but due to many circumstances had not been out together in a very long time. We had a very new waitress who could barely explain the menu past what was already written. For instance, her explanation of the “Larb,” a humble Laotian dish, was not clear at all. The restaurant was also very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. That said, the food was tasty. I wish we could have had a drink at their own bar before our table was ready but they use the bar for additional seating. So we went next door for a drink at their sister bar/restaurant. Our table was ready a bit early but we were not allowed to bring our drink next door. Overall, the food was good, but the experience did not live up to the hype.
Certainly lives up to its reputation as one of Raleigh's finest dining venues. Service was attentive and courteous. The appetizers were perfecy balanced to prepare you for the yum yum to come. Loved the delicious curry and the papaya salad with Sea Bass. Great vibe, tad loud but the food buzz certainly added to the energy. Looking forward to bringing friends and clients here soon. Well done. Thank you.
Repeat diner. Delicious, authentic food. Friendly service every time. Couldn't ask for a better dining experience! Can get a little loud during peak dining hours.
Food and drinks were inventive, high quality and downright delicious. Wait staffed was wonderful.
The staff was amazing ! We let the manager pick our 4 courses and he did a wonderful job.
Let's just day I will definitely be going back. The place is well designed and the food is amazing. The shrimp chips they offer you are soooo good. They are light and crispy. Absolutely in live. Service by Jess was great and we were very satisfied.
Birthday dinner with my family. The service was excellent, the food was delicious. There was a wait between appetizers and dinner but it's always a busy place.
Brought my partner here for his birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Excellent service, awesome food, and a really good ambience. The staff was truly above par, lots of bright personalities. Thanks for the birthday macarons! We’ll be back.
It was a wonderful birthday meal for my husband. We love Bida Manda and always have since our first experience when they first opened!
Best place in Raleigh. Food and drinks were delicious. Went above and beyond service wise.
The food was amazing and staff was great and had great recommendations
We went with out of town guests who had heard the restaurant featured on a podcast. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. I'd highly recommend making a reservation and coming to the restaurant for a special occassion.
Great service! Very attentive! Our server Christina asked if I liked or loved my cocktail and I told her I just liked it. She wanted me to love it, so she ordered another cocktail for 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 their sister restaurant next door just to please me. She went above and beyond!!!
Every time I go to Bida Manda, it's great food, but more than that, it's always a great dining experience. I would detail every dish but they were all magically delicious down to the chocolate creme brulee for dessert.
I love the green papaya salad! I had it with trout and was over the moon happy. The service was efficient and friendly without being intrusive.
The food ans service was great. My only complaint was they did not celebrate my dates birthday after I was asked and told two people that it was her birthday.
We really enjoyed our meal although the restaurant was very busy (always seems to be!) and so service was a little slow. Due to the number of people it did get pretty hot and noisy in there (it was a mid-week evening). We had mentioned on our reservation we were there for a birthday and this was acknowledged and we were made to feel very welcome with a little treat. The food is very good and the Laotian lager went down very well.
This is my favourite restaurant in the triangle! It’s flavoursome, delicious and fresh! This place is always awesome!!
Wonderful experience, waitstaff, and food. Will be back
The food here is fantastic and there is no other place like it. You have to make reservations way out and even then, you won’t get the time you’d like. We settled for a 5 pm reservation and I liked that we never felt rushed. What I did not like was the arrival process. We arrived and were told that we would be checked in. We could not be seated because there were no menus. A bunch of us just stood around and waited 15 minutes to be seated. I presumed they were printing new menus with some daily specials but they were not. When we were finally seated, the menus were old and had food on them. It was not a great start to the night at all. If I have to make a reservation, I expect to be seated at the time I have booked.
This was my experience at Bida Manda. I’m looking forward to eating there again.
Fantastic cocktails and quality service. Large portions, unique flavors, incredible menu.
We love the food and appreciate the service provided. The attention to detail All the staff provide create a wonderful dining experience.
Never been disappointed, everything we tried was beyond reproach in taste and execution. Highly recommend trying this place.
Never, ever fails to deliver in every manner possible. There's a reason it's tops in Raleigh and hard to get a table - perfect scores in every category which sets it apart from everyone else. Food = Fantastic. Service = Perfection. Ambiance = "Are we sure we're still in Raleigh?" Every eatery in the world should follow Bida Manda's lead.
I have eaten at this restaurant around 5-6 times and it is always great!! We tried a bottle of wine from Solvenia and it was really nice. Server was very professional, upbeat and efficient. Only thing that would make it better , this time the Pad Thai was a little bland and the tofu was way overdone. Overall still a great experience.
My friend was a bit late to dinner due to horrible traffic, and the server was so kind and understanding throughout the time waiting. The food was fantastic and the service was phenomenal.
Met a friend for lunch and had a great one. The Manda's Herb Salad was filled w/ fresh leaves of a variety of herbs from Blue Sky Farms, plus fresh noodles, shrimp, peanuts, tempura eggplant, spring rolls with a sweet chili sauce. It was a large portion; so very fresh and delicious. My friend had the Manda Amphone's chicken curry with coconut broth & local root veggies. Excellent! Wish we'd known about the specialty cocktails, but they weren't on the menu & we were so busy catching up we forgot to ask!! But do ask, b/c they make wonderful ones!!
This was my choice for my birthday dinner:) the food was fantastic!!!
The BEST meal my family has had out -ever! We had the pork belly soup, papaya salad with lemongrass chicken, spring rolls and chicken fried rice. The Soup was the winner for sure, but everything else came in a very close second! They gave our kids little sticky rice bowls to keep them busy -those were a big hit as well!
