Bice - Naples Ratings and Reviews
Bice was an afternoon excellent choice for a business celebration dinner at our conference . They were very flexible with our reservation changing from 8 to 9 to 11 without issue .
Due to the cold the patio was enclosed and heated and the service was warm and friendly . Even smiling as they divided the check !
Excellent choices for accompanying red and white Italian wines . We had Monsanto Classic Chianti Reserve and a Zenato Ripasso both delicious.
Calamari appetizer was perfect and built to share along with the burrata with apple .
Homemade pastas were the top choice but the winning dish was the Ossie bucco with risotto.
We are familiar with BICE restaurants having gone to one in NYC and Chicago. Marcello was our waiter and he was efficient and a delight. We had the Bolognese which was delicious and then shared a delicious veal chop. For dessert we had gelato. The atmosphere was wonderful. It was a little chilly out so we sat inside but right near the outdoor seating. Can't wait to go back.
A great disappointment. We had to send back no less than 4 dishes because rhey were either cold or had different ingredients to the menu. This is factory food - no more. The ambience was that of a noisy canteen. 28 dollars for a simple plate of spaghetti is unreasonable. As Europeans who regularly eat in Italy this was our first - and last - experience of BiCE.
There is live music during brunch. We wanted to talk, so we moved to a table outdoors where we could hear each other. The waiter was very nice, had a little difficulty with English, but otherwise all went well. My salmon and bagel were good. Someone had the steak and eggs perfectly prepared. And the $ 5 Prosecco was very drinkable.
Have been to Bice’s many times with good service and food. This visit the service was very poor, slow and no attention to our table and our needs. The food arrived cold and 1 hour late. Our server was nowhere to be found. We will try them again in hopes that they will get back to the good service we have had in the past.
Everything was lovely and delicious, but the noise level was so loud that at a small table for 2 we could hardly hear one another! I would never eat inside there again, but only outside on a nice weather evening . My ears were ringing and I couldn't wait to get outside. I would only recommend outside dining.
Every year when we come to Naples, FL we have to go to Bice. The Service here is excellent and the food is outstanding. I have the lasagna and my wife likes the chicken piccata. Their location is at the west end of 5th ave. so it is a lot less crowded than the other restaurants. So if you are looking for a quieter dinner where you can actually talk to someone with raising your voice, this is the place. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
Returned to give one more try to Bice for dinner. It was not worth the trip. The outdoor table was fine and it was nice to see people walking by but that was about it. We all had different entrees and all of our meals were mediocre at best. The service was spotty. Sometimes they appeared but more often than not they were not there when you needed them. Overall it is quite expensive for what you get. We don’t mind paying a lot for a good meal and frequently dine at establishments that are pricey, but this was expensive for average food and inattentive service. We will not be returning.
Bice has been in Naples for many years but it is a recent find for us.
They have early bird special and 2 for 1 wines until 5pm.
I had the fettuccine in oil an oyster sauce. Delicious. My husband is hooke on their pasta with meat sauce. He thinks it is the best he has ever tasted.
Servers are in tuxedos and attentive.
Definitely a new favorite for us.
I have been to this restaurant before and was disappointed with it last night. I was with friends who frequent the restaurant often and they were not happy with it either. We were seated at 6:30 and the restaurant had some diners there. The waiter came to our table and didn’t seem to know the wines by the glass very well. He brought my daughter club soda and ice instead of ginger ale twice. We were a table of nine and we had two small bread baskets and one butter to share. We asked for more of both and received one more bread basket but not any butter. We were constantly out of water and looking for our server to fill our glasses.
Dinner was decent if you ordered their pasta dishes. However, I ordered the chicken Milanese which the waiter recommended but it lacked any flavor whatsoever. The arugula and tomatoes on top had really no balsamic on them and it was a dry, flavorless entree. My husband had the same but with veal. He complained about how it was a fatty piece and lacked any flavor.
Then our waiter brought us the dessert menu at 7:45 mind you, and told us three of the items were already sold out. I don’t buy that story for a minute. Did the patisserie not bring the desserts or did their in house dessert maker not show up? We had tiramisu, gelato and panacotta as options. We were all looking forward to the meringue cake, profiteroles or chocolate soufflé cake. We left without having any dessert, coffee or after dinner drinks.
We will not be returning any time soon.
We went with bonus gift cards given to us when we bought $100 gift cards. We bought $500 worth of cards so received $125 of bonus cards. We were told we could use the bonus cards all at one time during the month of January. We booked Bice 1/2 as we were leaving for the rest of January. Unfortunately we were informed only one bonus card per table despite the fact that it was not written on the bonus card. A big disappointment for sure. The branzino was mediocre. Pasta dishes were good.
Even taking into account the holiday this was the very worst meal I have had maybe ever. My friend had linguini volgole which had very few clams in it and wasn't linguini. I had eggplant parmigiana which was inedible...tough and gummy. The waiter was the only good part. NEVER AGAIN.
