Bice Cucina FKA Bistro Milano
Food was at best very average and place very crowded. Seemed like was really a place for people living in the neighborhood who don’t cook rather than a dining experience
Great. Good service. Manager spent plenty of time with us.
When the restaurant was Bistro Milano, we often went for their pizza, salad and wine. It was an outstanding value.
Now it's totally changed. The pizza was horrible. No longer a thin crust wood fired pizza. It was a flat bread, slightly under cooked, thick, and the cheese topping was thick and uninteresting.
I sent the salad back because I ordered one with no onions. Of course it had onions and the lettuce was soggy. They apologized, remade the salad efficiently, without onion, but the same soggy lettuce.
I will never return which makes us sad. We loved Bistro Milano.
We were a large group and no one liked their main dish. The salmon was not fresh and was pungent. The service was virtually nonexistent. An embarrassing experience for my business guests which will not be repeated.
We really enjoyed our meal and experience. Our server was attentive and the food was excellent! We will visit again next time we are in the city.
The pasta dishes are outstanding!!! Our waiter, Ben, was superb! Highly recommend!
Best bartender who came out to tell of his pairing. Service was the best I’ve had since traveling to Italy!
Keep this way - perfect.
We've been here many times before and Bice never disappoints us❤
Loved the pasta with lobster fish! Delicious! Service was wonderful! Would definitely come again.
Very comfortable setting, delicious food, from flat bread to pasta to chicken parmesan, all terrific. Or waiter, Ben-Hur made for the perfect dining experience, he's NYC treasure.
Authentic and delicious!! Will be back. Grazie ~
Pre-theater dinner. Sat outside. A very courteous server. Had the seafood risotto, good, not great.
Colonel for dessert, refreshing lemon sorbet with a shot of vodka poured over, delightful!
Menu on Open Table does not reflect current menu at restaurant.
Our waiter was fantastic, food was great, ambiance was perfect. Great meal. Great value.
It was a disappointing meal that was very distinctively average. The beauty of Italian food is it’s simplicity. It is it’s simplicity though that means the produce needs to be top notch and the execution faultless. I was expecting a meal like the good old Bice days but this was a poor pretender. I wouldn’t recommend it especially as it was not particularly cheap nor a good deal.
Bistro Milano used to be so much better. Now that’s all rebranded the food isn’t as good. Service was ok
Crabandavocafo salad very good and wine reasonably priced.
I would have given this a higher rating based on past experiences. But, we experienced the following this time:
1. Poor table location. Waitress gave us the worst table available though other better tables were open.
2. The A/C was not strong and it was a very hot day, so the air temperature was uncomfortable.
3. We told the waiter that we had theatre that evening and so we needed to pace ourselves accordingly. This seemed to have the opposite effect as people who arrived after us received their meals before we received ours, and our meals were simple salads and pasta dishes.
Wait staff not as sharp as at the old Bice.
The appetizer was good which was a bruschetta. The pastas took almost 45 minutes to arrive and they were nothing special. The price was above average based on what we ate. Service was ok!
Service was outstanding. The recommended tuna tartare was delectable as well as the entree options and dessert. And the bottle of Rosé we had was icing on the cake. 5/5
THEY CHARGED for ICE!!!
This is our 4th time dining at Bice. It a good post theater restaurant.
I ordered vodka on the rocks and when the bill came, they charged $2 fir ice for each drink!
Are you kidding me? There is no drought in NYC ... what an obnoxious charge at a fine dining restaurant. They removed the charge and said it automatically shows up in the computer for certain drinks.
I will call the manager today and if this is not remediate, this was our last time eating at Bice.
Ordered an American Chardonnay by the glass. When I tasted it I said to the waiter it wasn’t a chard. He said it was and would bring me the bottle, which he did. The wine was from Chile!!! When I said that it is not the same he said no problem he would get me a glass from the American chard. He then came back and said they can’t open a bottle of American chard for a glass! What???? U have it on the wine by the glass menu. They obviously try and fool the public, esp since the rest gets mostly tourists. The food is fair at best! Will not come back
The bathroom needed a deep cleaning
This was our first visit to Bice Cucina since its name change. The waiters are the same wonderful people and the food is still worth a visit.
The restaurant was lovely, and my salmon was excellent! The service is friendly, and I can't wait to return and have my salmon again.
We walked over 14 blocks to get there! It was a nostalgic visit for me as I frequented the old Bice at 54th and Madison for years when I lived in NYC. I ordered 2 of my favorite and their specialty ‘pasta with lobster’ for myself and my sister, after bragging about this meal for 15 minutes. What a disappointment, they forgot to put any lobster in the dish (see the ad on their website). The server was visibly angry when I mentioned this and insisted that he take the dishes away and have the chef address. Mentioned that the kitchen were very busy and that could be why; big mistake, I let him take both bowls. Well, mine came back with more sauce that I would ever need and short pieces of pasta! Very disappointed in the meal and the service! Guess I should have tipped the server 5% but did not have the heart and gave him 17%. Such a downer for me and a waste of time and money!!
The food and ambiance was fantastic; my only issue with the place is the service. Not sure if it was the cooks just preparing the food late or the servers not getting the orders out but a two person business lunch shouldn’t take 1.5 hours (especially when we ordered off of the pre-fix menu). It seemed it took forever to get the apps and main course. The servers are very nice, that’s not the issue. Outside of that, very solid place and would go again.
We had loved Bistro Milano and were afraid it wouldn't be the same under the new format. However, with a slightly different menu, it remains as warm and welcoming as always. The food is excellent, as is the service.
Will get you to your show on time!
We had dinner at Bice based on their participation in Elevated Rewards through Hilton while staying in NYC over the weekend and did we luck out! Cute neighborhood restaurant near the Hilton Club and MoMA we had the place almost to ourselves due to our early reservation. Fantastic service - very attentive, warm and personable and asked that we return on our next trip! We started with the fried calamari and shrimp which was wonderful with two types of dipping sauce. My wife went with osso bucco and I had the spaghetti with tomato, Italian sausage and broccoli rabe for entrees - both were phenomenal. The interior is relatively small but they also have a fairly large patio dining area that is covered and sectioned off from foot traffic. Definitely recommend!
Got into midtown late and discovered this gem across from the Hilton Midtown. We went w/ the prix fixe menu. The food was great. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. Great way to begin our birthday weekend in the city!
It was a warm evening and we got a chance to sit outside. The seating is on the side street of 55th Street and its pretty enjoyable.
3 out 4 guests were very pleased with food, service and ambiance. The 4th guest did not finish her main course and appeared more reserved in her praised.
We enjoyed every aspect of Bice Cucina from the pleasant staff who greeted us upon entering to the owner asking how everything was as we were leaving. Our waiter Ramon was very pleasant and helpful. The food was delicious. This is a restaurant we would most definitely return to.
A fabulous classic French menu backed up with terrific food perfectly seasoned.
One of my favorites in the City!
New name, interior updated, same staff, as usual one of NY NY best dinning experiences!
Very pleasant and they went out of their way to make it comfortable.
Great food and great attentive service. However. I asked bartender whats the difference between the $12 Affogato under the menu's Ice Cream section and the $10 Affogato under the Coffee section. "Is the difference really ice cream vs gelato?" "No, they are both gelato." "Oh, so is the $12 one just a bigger portion?" "Yes, they are both the same." (Huh?) "Ok, I'd like the $10 one please". I got a delicious double scoop of creamy gelato with a shot of espresso, exactly what the menu described, for $10. Still curious about the difference in the $12 vs the $10, I asked the manager. He said the $10 one has liqueur added. (I can viuch that mine did NOT have liqueur). "Oh, I, see thank you." Left the restaurant satisfied but SMH.
Outstanding, authentic cuisine served with style in a relaxed, classy atmosphere.
