I was here before when it was Bistro Milano. I thought it would be the same because the hostess assured me that it was when I confirmed my reservation. It is not. I was very disappointed. Not only did I not enjoy the little bit of food that was on my plate but the price is just not worth going here.
The staff and our waiter Vito was very pleasant and food was perfectly prepared
Usually, we are seated and a table for dinner. This time we decided to sit at the bar. Excellent experience as always!
The pricefixe menu that was shown on the open table website when we made our reservations and when they sent me a reminder a few days before had not been available for a year or more according to the staff. The food portions were adequate but bland.
Very kind waiter. The food is also very good.
The service is fine, the food is just okay. Not worthwhile for ladies to dress up, even the makeups. BUT I do like the decors of the restaurant.
First time customers and we will be back! The pinsa (Roman pizza) was absolutely wonderful!
Incredible service, delicious food and excellent location. Ben Hur - yep that's his name- was an amazing server! You can't go wrong if you are looking for an authentic Italian meal in a cozy and inviting restaurant.
Had to a wait an hr. Reservations here don’t mean anything.
A fabulous meal in a very warm, friendly environment. Food, service and atmosphere were second to none!
Food wasn’t as good as use to be and the service was a little under the expectation, not very friendly.
The Bice Orlando is much much better in all senses
Just as always, ALWAYS WONDERFUL!!
Always a fabulous neal! Must try the Veal Milanese! The best! The crab salad was to die for
Our regular go to restaurant pre theater. ❤
Amazing meal, incredible service, wines with a fair price and excellent quality, I eat a ossobuco with a risotto, one of the best of my life. For me one of the best Italians in the city!
Food and service was excellent. Kitchen able to accommodate requested changes.
Go see Ben-Hur. Great NYC waiter. Excellent meal.
go for the roman style pizzas and grilled cornish hen....really excellently prepared. Branzino is only mediocre, sorry to say. Wine list is limited but well selected and fairly priced.
Good food. But less chouces. Use to have a better menu before
I liked it so much, l are there twice in one week. Delicious! And the servers were lovely.
Our server made the experience. Great energy and made wonderful recommendations. Would go back.
I used to go the the other BICE before it moved. This was no where near the quality of food or service. Me u was limited and far from the same quality. I won’t go back.
Well, first of all, I made a reservation on Open Table for Bistro Milano. On the evening of my reservation, I walked from my hotel to where the restaurant was with the address in my phone. I had gone there last year, so I had a vague recollection of where it was located. My son, who was meeting me called just as I was looking for the restaurant, as he couldn't find it either. I was sure I was in the right location, based on the address, but there was no Bistro Milano! There was Bice in its spot! When I mentioned this to the outside attendant who would be seating us, he assured me that this was the spot where Bistro Milano had been but was now under the ownership of Bice and that everything remained the same. We were seated and were pleased to have the same waiter we had last year, Mr. Ben-Hur Ranieri. He was actually the reason I wanted to return there. Such a character! When our bill arrived, the receipt said Bistro Milano, but the card Mr. Ranieri gave me with his name on it, said Bice Cucina. I think it would have been helpful if Open Table would have made the name change on their website. It caused a few moments of confusion, but we had a pleasant dinner and the food and wine were quite good.
New owners; new name (BICE Cucina) newly renovated (very nice) same wait staff (excellent, especially Ben Hur). New, more expensive menu, and we believe, a new chef. The food was disappointing - still good, just not as great as in the past. It has always been our go-to place whenever we are in NYC. We will likely give it a pass next time and try somewhere else for our "special" night.
The restaurant has a new name, I had a hard time finding it because of that. The menu was different and the food was terrible. The pasta sauce tasted like canned tomato sauce. Nice venue and decent service but overall it was a very bad experience.
The name of the restaurant has changed and now called BiCE Cucina
Excellent food and service. I had the caprese salad and orraciette bolognese while DaBoss had a Caesar salad and a Roman pizza. Delicious! The wine list is fairly priced and the location is superb, Midtown East.
The service was so poor, I couldn't possibly recommend a business lunch here. It seemed they didn't have enough servers on for a busy lunch, while there were lots of bus boys who could do nothing for you. Management was oblivious to the lack of attention to the tables. We had to ask for everything, with long waits in between getting the requested item if you got it at all. We had to ask for the dessert menus twice and took over 20 minutes to get them. They never checked on us to see how the meal was (which was mediocre) and the dessert came out without the ice cream as advertised. The server didn't particularly care that we were upset at any stage of the lunch. The young man should not have been a server. He was way too inexperienced for what I considered a higher-end restaurant. I'm not particularly pleased with the level of professional service, although it has potential, and there appeared to be a few seasoned servers taking care of their tables. It is disappointing because I had a dinner there this week and I was very happy with the meal and service, but now after this, it is clear they need lots of work on proper service and attention to customers, particularly at lunch time. As a restaurant with a new name, I would have expected more.
Most of the food was fabulous but the service was very poor. In short, the server forgot about us a number of times.
The name of this restaurant now is BICE. The food was excellent. I asked for whole anchovies on my Caesar salad and was charged for that. I have not had a charge for that request in other restaurants.
Waiter service was inattentive at best. Greek salad was boring and outrageously priced. Croutons in it were soggy. Pizza was good. Wine was ok. Had a pecan/walnut tart for dessert. Mostly crust enu said vanilla ie cream. They served coconut - which my dinner companion was allergic to. All in all - neer going back
Changed names and ownership. Very sleazy to pretend it’s the same restaurant. Completely different menu which is limited. Bartender was terrible. Wine by the glass super overpriced. William Hill Chardonnay $14 per glass. Really!?!? C’mon?!?!
Great place will definitely go again
Good location for pre-theater at City Center. Italian food quite tasty— lasagna with House-made pasta, good pasta with clams. Gnocchi disappointed, but otherwise everything was fine.
We had to eat outside due to renovation but it was great. Ben-Hur our server was great.
Had dinner outside on a cool evening. No interior seating available due to rennovation. Staff was accommodating but limited heating elements were available. Still, they made us comfortable and were very attentive. Food was excellent. We enjoyed soups, pasta and rack of lamb.
Will return after renovations are complete.
A person from the restaurant left a message on my voice mail three hours before our reservation on Sunday saying that the restaurant was closed for renovation and that they had not notified Open Table. This does not sit well with me. We had to then find another reservation for our party of nine at the 11th hour. We were very disappointed - someone dropped the ball. My rating of the restaurant is based on my prior visits. We have always enjoyed our meals at Bistro Milano.
We’ve been coming here for years and always have a great meal. The management has changed and the menu is smaller, remodeling almost completed. Ben and Gonzalo are still there and are excellent servers, always having great recommendations for wine and meals. Gloria is a fabulous and friendly hostess. The carbonara is spot on as is also the Bolognese pasta. I had the caprice salad with tomatoes full of flavor. We’ve never walked away unhappy.
