Perfect in every respect.
Exceeded our expectations. Each course was presented by the server with a detailed explanation. The food was exquisite with very unique combinations. Interesting to learn the menu changes every week.
Will definitely be back !!
Bibou is not just a place to go to eat dinner. It is am experience. From the first course to the last course a lot of time, thought, effort and imagination has gone into every single step of the meal.
It is a fixed menu, fixed price meal. The staff is amazing about helping to make your meal special even if you have dietary restrictions, as long as you inform them ahead of time.
Bibou is perfect for a special occasion, some might thing it is rather expensive, but considering what they create for you it really isn't. I highly recommend everyone try it.
There is no point in my describing the dishes we ate because the menu changes weekly. There was only once course that I didn't love, but that was just my personal preference. Of the five people all of us simply loved the meal and we will definitely go back.
My husband and I are graduates of the Culinary Institute of America so we do know good food. Not singe Le Bec Fin closed have we found a restaurant anywhere near as good. until now.
Best soufflé in Philadelphia!
I absolutely love Bibou. I've been a few times now and have never been disappointed. I have Celiac disease and they are so accommodating which makes the whole experience that much better. I had my own special gluten free bread and butter, one or two of the dishes were adjusted so they were safe for me. Each dish was fantastic and the service is phenomenal :)
Great food, exceptional service!
Great experience , 7 course meal but surprisingly very well paced, so don’t feel stuffed after dinner. Every course is a piece of art, just beautiful. Fish was my favorite as well as veal chops. We’ll be back.
Perfect evening! Food is outstanding as well as service. The staff are able to read when patrons are more serious or more relaxed and adjust the service to individualize it to each group. Description of food and technique used to cook it was perfect for my husband ( he loves to cook and appreciates when the technique is explained to him)
We love Pierre and his team! Best in the business.
We celebrated our 39th anniversary at Bibou Friday night. It was superb from beginning to end!
Everything about our experience was exceptional! The food was amazing in both presentation and taste. The ambience was lovely. It was quiet and we were able to hear each other speak which was wonderful. The staff was kind and exceptionally helpful. We simply had an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have a particularly nice meal in a nice quiet restaurant.
Everyone should experience Bibou. Everything about Bibou is perfection. The Chef, the staff,
the ambiance, the food. Nothing you have had before and nothing you will experience after can compare
to Bibou. Make that reservation and all your questions about dining will be answered. Thank you Bibou!
Extraordinary in all ways! Creative perfectly cooked food with the best sauces in Philadelphia.
Bibou is a consistent favorite of ours. The service is impeccable but not pretentious and the menu was outstanding!
It’s always awesome!!!
This is a true neighborhood gem and an experience that is a must! The food is thoughtful, creative, and exquisite, and the service is unmatched. Treat yourself!
I mentioned it was for a birthday and they made it special but intimate.
Very small and charming. Staff was top-notch - attentive, great explanations of the interesting dishes, completely professional without being the least bit snooty. Food was absolutely wonderful, creative, well prepared, and presented.
As always, impeccable! Easily my favorite restaurant’
We’ve been going here for a few years now and just love this place. We usually go for special occasions like Birthday and Anniversary. Love that it is s BYOB. The chef is From France and he comes out and talks to everyone. They make you feel so special
Excellent staff and service!!! Will come back to eat here every chance I get:)
Wonderful venue to celebrate very special occasions. The staff is exceptional. Menu is memorable and changes daily
Simply amazing. Again. Chef Pierre Calmels brings the excellence of his native Lyon to an intimate setting. What a wonderful experience!
Absolutely, positively AMAZING! A must for a special occasion with that someone special.
Outstanding as always!!! Highly recommended for a wonderful experience and excellent food and service.
Superb, imaginative and fun to be there. Michelin inspectors, guess what: it’s worth the detour! Chef Calmels has taken his amazing cuisine to a whole new level.
Bibou is a real gem, hidden in a small space on 8th Street in South Philadelphia. The prix fixe menu was varied and creative. Chef Calmels’ food was delicious and beautifully presented. His sauces were amazing. The service was exceptional, and the ambience was tranquil and inviting. Needless to say we plan to return soon!
We thought the service was great. A restaurant that feels like you're in a personal home, the food was unique and wonderful. My boyfriend and I enjoyed trying new things and the atmosphere.
For food lovers - this is the place to go to. The menu was creative and beautifully executed, the flavour palette was very exciting and we had the most lovely dinner. Best tasting menu I’ve had. And it’s different every week! Bonus points!
Great venture, so commendable, great for people that really get excited about different combinations and flavours.
A gem: small and brilliant. Pleasingly quiet and beautifully orchestrated, unhurried and well-paced. Numerous small plates with a delight of tastes. I found the cheese course (Langres from Champagne-Ardenne with marvelous accompaniments) memorable; also the soufflé. Bring your own wine, usually more than one bottle, maybe even three, in order to complement the food properly; but the clientele are used to that and the servers manage the carry-in wines faultlessly. Chef Pierre comes from Lyon, the home of Paul Bocuse and renowned even before that: he has brought with him a worthy portion of the excellence which made Lyon famous. Their loss is our gain. Definitely worth a journey.
Great food ambience and service. Price was well worth it and I consider it a bargain
We took our son, real foodie - his favorite restaurant in the city of so many wonderful restaurants. We see why- ooo la la - what a meal! Portions, taste sensations, service - French cuisine in lovely setting for reasonable price. Bought along wines recommended to pair and that too was perfect. Highly highly recommend Bibou!
Bibou continues to be the best French food in town. The wey poached halibut was amazing! Everything is outstanding from food, to service to ambiance. Always a hit!
The tasting menu was innovative, varied and delicious. The staff and chef were gracious, flexible and welcoming. I just wish I had another stomach to have room to eat more of the dishes I loved most. Bibou is quite far from where we live so unfortunately we cannot go as often as I would like. Dinner there is a lovely experience in all ways.
Everything was delicious and quite perfect. Service was friendly and professional. Bringing own wine was a plus. Will go back and recommend to friends and family.
Wonderful and special place. Went for our anniversary and was treated like a Queen. Loved the food - chef is an artist. Service was outstanding. Won’t wait until our next anniversary to return!!! Thanks for our culinary experience !!
Thank you for a memorable meal! The food was excellent; we enjoyed the service and anything about the evening.
This restaurant is a little gastronomy jewel in Philadelphia.
Celebrated mine and my twin’s birthday there with our mom. 5 stars all around the only “problem” which you have anytime you go to south philly
Portions were way too tiny for $230/couple!
