As a native Italian, Navone’s passion for the culinary arts and Italian cuisine started at a young age. Growing up in both Switzerland and Italy, he would assist with his mother and grandmother in the kitchen creating dishes for the family. Navone returned to the USA in 2006, to join Casa Tua in Miami where he was appointed sous chef. He went on to establish himself as a prominent chef in Miami holding positions at popular Italian restaurants such as IL BOLOGNESE on Lincoln Road/Ocean Drive, and the Dolce Italian at the Gale Hotel, which was chosen as winner of BRAVO’S Best New Restaurant under his leadership. Bibiana is delighted to welcome Chaf Navone to Washington, DC.

We've enjoyed Bibiana in the past, but the Feast of the Seven Fishes we had on Christmas Eve was surprisingly bad. First course of eel had a very strong fishy taste. Second course of frito misto was overcooked, overly salty, and only had calamari (so we actually just had a Feast of the Four Fishes). Third course of pasta with sea urchin was tasty but the pasta was undercooked, not just al dente. Fourth course of cod looked and tasted as though it had been under a heat lamp for ages. I'm giving two stars instead of one because our cocktails were great, dessert was very good, and our waiter was excellent. Perhaps ordering this special 5-course holiday meal was the problem, but really, that was the whole point of going.

We went to the feast of the seven fishes. We waited 30 mins for the table, the service was very slow, the wine pairing was advertised but when we asked about it the waiter said it was off, although he would ask his manager, he came back and said we could have it but at $10 higher than the advertised price. The food was good so it saved the evening, but overall disappointing.

My wife and I went to this restaurant Christmas Eve to sample their feast of seven fishes. I was surprised at how poorly the seafood was prepared. In general the seafood was overcooked-tough and chewy. Even low end restaurants prepare fried calamai better than Bibiana served on Christmas eve. The baked goods were outstanding though including the bread served before the meal, the dessert, and a bread they generously gave us for Christmas morning.

Every dish we enjoyed had an unexpected flavor twist that made it that much more enjoyable, particularly considering the reasonableness of the pricing.

Bibiana served a traditional Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes. It was the best Christmas Eve fish dinner I've ever had. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Great place. Nothing over the top, nothing beneath the mark -- all good. I had the pheasant, even with the warning about the buckshot (found one small shot -- a little souvenir). The waiter picked for us a couple of nice wines. Portions are not too small, not too big. Seasoning is neither too little nor too much. Everything is just right. We've been before; Chef Nick Stefanelli mixes each seasonal menu with variations on previous themes and new favorites. Excellent place. An easy decision for a go-to place for just a very nice, enjoyable evening. Great food, smart, easy atmosphere.

We tried the canelloni, the risotto and the tortellini and they were all fantastic. For chocolate lovers, the crespelle is recommended as a dessert.

The waiter nicely orchestrated our early dinner prior to a 7:00 pm theater. The food was delicious the service excellent and the ambience bright and sophisticated. There was a bit of a wait for the main course; but in the end, we still had time for dessert and even made the curtain in a hasty yet timely fashion!
All in all, an excellent experience which added to the enjoyment of the entire evening.

A friend took us to dinner at Bibiana and we were so impressed that we returned with other friends the next weekend. The food is absolutely wonderful. The service is quite nice and friendly (but not overly so) and you could actually hear your dinner partner speak. I highly recommend Bibiana and feel I've discovered a new favorite in DC.

Cozy and friendly with top-shelf service!!! Food was exceptional including appetizers! Extensive wine list with something for everyone although most offerings on the high end. Location is close to metro and key venues. A must-see if in the DC area in search of quality Italian fare.

Unfortunately we went to Bibiana when we had only an hour for our meal. Big mistake. It deserves a much more leisurely approach. Even so, the food was marvelous and the wine list staggering and the service wonderful until the end. We had made a big deal about our having to leave in an hour which our server remarked on quite a bit. He was great about getting all our food/drinks to us quickly but then left us sitting for quite a while after the dishes had been cleared without bringing us our bil--making the end of the meal much more harried and stressful than it needed to be. Even so, we'll be back.

I'm not quite sure which was more impressive - the outstanding service, impressive wine list, or the delightful menu! We were originally seated at a less than ideal table; not only did they move us, we were doted on for the rest of our experience. The cuisine is served in smaller portions; a welcome change.

Food was good but not worth the prices charged. Wine was definitely overpriced - charged 80 for a 15 dollar bottle. The Service was good. Would not go again.

Unfortunately, the food was not up to par. We suspect the real chef had the day off. One entree was inedible. When the waiter asked why we hadn't eaten it, we told him it was inedible. Yet, no apologies were offered. We had been looking forward to the meal, but we won't be back.

The restaurant was eerily quiet for thanksgiving. Only 4 tables were being used so I think we all felt a little self conscious. Good food, polite but indifferent service.

Late night dinner with a friend. Bar and dining area were beautiful. Service was really great and presentation of food was excellent! I do feel the food could have been better for the price though. Pasta was a little tough in two separate dishes and there was nothing across the four courses that was to die for... For a place that's been on my must visit list for years- I was hoping to be wowed, but wasn't.

My boyfriend and I took some family members out here for a special occasion meal, and we had a lovely time. Delicious food, romantic ambience, and excellent, thoughtful, attentive service. The service really made the experience for me -- I felt very well taken care of, and I would happily come back here any time.

Met a co-worker for dinner at Bibiana, and my expectations were exceeded as usual. Every course of the tasting menu was thoughtfully conceived and prepared with great care to faithfully represent the cuisine of Emilia-Romagna, the spotlighted region of Italy. Wine pairings suggested were impressive and well-priced, cocktails were bold, and the coffee strong and soothing. Service was attentive and punctual without being overly effusive.

First time and pretty excited as we celebrating a friend's birthday. Service for 8:30 reservation on a Saturday night was poor. Our server served our wine after 30 minutes and messed up my friend's beverage. He was quite unfriendly. He failed to place our entree order correctly--brought out one entree and said "well that worked out well," instead of apologizing when he brought the second entree 15 mins late. I love Rasika and 701 for their service--I always appreciate it when they make it right if there is delay or a mix-up. Bibiana did not exhibit the same service standard. There appeared ti be several managers, but no one stopped by to check on us. As dining guests, we are polite, engaged and also tip well. I will not return.

The food was outstanding, definitely not your run of the mill Italian cuisine, and a very robust wine list. The entrees varied from pasta to their superb Chilean sea bass. The only issue at the restaurant is the service, if people are spending easily $100+ for a meal per person i'd expect the servers to be more attentive as you see at Capital Grille. All in all a great experience and a gem for DC thats worth checking out for a night out.
