The Hotel Mac restaurant has definitely upgraded their menu! We all had pasta which was ver good. The service was very friendly if not the most professional. There is a loud energetic feel to the place.

The food was just okay and we feel manipulated when they put a small portion on plates with enormous rims to make the food look decent-sized. Also, the upselling was annoying--pitching appetizers, drinks, dessert. I know that's what the restaurant consultant tell restauranteurs to do to maximize profit--But it's likely a short-term profit booster and long-term loss. In addition, I'd guess that a restaurant owner would feel better about how s/he's living his/her life if they were more ethical. Also, I'd mention that the waitstaff was racing around, racing around. I'm guessing that's because the restaurant wanted to save money by hiring fewer people.

Loved my Manhattan. Lobster and crab ravioli delicious. Bread pudding could have used more sauce. Very noisy and difficult to hear conversation upstairs at our dining table.

We came early to have a drink but it was really cold in the lounge and our drink order sat on the bar for 15 minutes while our waiter disappeared. Out waiter was unfamiliar with the menu. He told us a special was pasta but when we ordered it was soup. Maybe he was new. Two of the dishes were way too salty. The veal piccata was delicious but a very small portion (too small for $30). The staff was friendly and the atmosphere nice. We had a fairly quiet table.

This was a reconnection lunch with a dear friend. The wait people were very much accommodating us. The lunch was perfect, as was the atmosphere. I would recommend the restaurant in a heart beat. Most of all, I can’t wait to return. Biancoverde at Hotel Mac should be on everyones bucket list.

We ordered speciality cocktails first, which were quite delicious. He had the Lasagne alle Melanzane and I had the Linquini Cozze. Though mussels in the LinquiniCozze were fantastic and I devoured them immediately, the linquine was actually _not_ linguine, bucatini - a different pasta than Linguini. It was still good though the sauce was a bit on the unseasonsed side, i.e., bland. Will continue to patronize Biancoverde as well as their other restaurant in Richmond, "Mi Casa Grill" which has best chile rellenos on the planet, imho :-)

Our drinks, entrees and dessert were outstanding! The bread basket fell behind. Either they limit carb intake for customers or they were out of good bread. We got two thin pieces that looked like foccacia but tasted stale. The salad also was on the dry side; it was good but it could have used more dressing. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We went on a Monday afternoon so I can't speak much about the ambiance in regards to noise level and busyness. I would definitely go back though.

Hotel Mac looks lovely and it’s great to have them back. Unfortunately the meal was mediocre. We had two beautifully made martinis to start. We love Fried Calamari and we ordered the Frito Misto. The assortment of deep fried items were topped with two freshly fried shrimp but the calamari was chewy and overcooked. My husband ordered chicken Parmesan and it had a side of mashed potatoes. Odd- since we expected linguine or spaghetti…I had the Lobster Ravioli which wasn’t very visually appealing but tasted good. I found some tortellini underneath my Ravioli! There was a tortellini dish on the menu which I assumed got mixed with my Ravioli. The meal totaled approximately $200. It felt more like a $100 meal. Not sure if we will return. Maybe for a drink at the bar but..probably not dinner.

We first visited a few weeks ago, and after that we knew we had to come back as soon as possible. The restaurant is such a beautiful place and has a unique style to it. Thew food is absolutely delicious. The margaritas are some of the best around. There are very few places that make it so great and this is definitely one of them for sure. I had the Calzone and I have to say it is the best I've ever had for flavor. If anyone loves bread pudding, then you'll love this here. I highly recommend getting reservations and dining here.

Finally made a reservation to try out the restaurant at the newly reopened Hotel Mac in Point Richmond.It Is called Biencoverde and as you might guess Italian . The menu had a nice variety of appetizers,entrees,desserts and a good wine and cocktail list.We shared a delicious mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes with a side of balsamic dressing.I chose the risotto with scallops,shrimp and artichoke hearts in a light sauce that did not overwhelm the fish.My friend had the eggplant lasagna which was cheesy and good.We shared a tiramisu and coconut pie and particularly liked the coconut.A talented piano player added to a nice environment.Service was attentive and I look forward to going back…

We were 20 minutes late due to a traffic accident, but we called ahead to let them know. Perhaps because of that and it being a busy night, we were seated in a small area with two tables, staring at the kitchen with the waiters and waitresses coming in and out. Not very pleasant if one is distracted by the whirl of activity . However, the service was very good and the food was excellent. There was a pianist playing in the bar below which was not too intrusive, but would be way too loud if you were in the bar area. We drove over 30 miles to eat here, and we would do it again; it was that good. Just make sure you are seated in the area above the pianist, not near the kitchen and not in the back room. We walked back there and it was way too loud. It would be hard to have an intimate dinner there.

The service was awful and the staff had a kids party that was loud at 7:15 making the noise unbearable. We left and there was no interest in having us sit somewhere else in the restaurant. Poor management and customer service.

food and service were great!! there was a very loud birthday party happening so it was very difficult to enjoy my meal I wish they didn’t seat me so close to them. they kept popping balloons and yelling i wish they would have told them to be a little less loud in a shared space.

I love this local gem (and have become a regular), which has become a gorgeous hub for lovely Italian food in Point Richmond (while drawing many people from around the area/it is so unusual). Why? It is an authentically Italian, Italian restaurant (a beautifully renovated make-over of the Old Mac restaurant) ..wonderful food and ambiance...lively without being a cacophony as in many trendy places..the service is overall very good/sometimes a little patchy...but a lot better than MOST places these days..staff ALWAYS courteous Last night, we ate very lightly -- just salads and a drink...but fresh and well presented.

The linguine with seafood was cloying and tasted like the sauce came out of a can. The veal pica-ta was tough. Unimpressive wine list. Great atmosphere but from a gastronomic experience, a complete disaster.

We had a very nice dinner. We liked the ambiance, glad to see the old hotel looking so pretty. Service was good, attentive. The piano music was a nice touch. Food was very good, but my only request is that the chef not use so much salt on the fish.
