Our third time back. We love the cozy warm atmosphere.
The main attraction is the delicious food. Lots of choices and wonderful specials.
Dinner was very good as always - we had our same waiter, and we had a nice evening.
The food and beverages were great and the service was top notch. I would definitely dine here, again.
Service, food were great. Very nice evening will return.
extraordinary as always!!! love this place!
We left behind many great restaurants since moving from Manhattan last year . What a pleasure to find this little Osteria that reminds us so much of the great food we had back home. Cheers to Biagios. Grazie Mille
Couldn't get the table we wanted restaurant was jam packed, they should take less reservations. Totally worth it, best Italian IMO. Been coming here for years, has been challenging recently to get a table but the bar usually has seating.
Very crowded, waited a few minutes with reservations. Was all worth it, food was amazing as well as the service. The Ossobucco was off the charts amazing and an my husband said the bone in rib-eye was the best he ever had.
Food and menu was very good!
Service was slow and below average!
Was looking for a nice adult restaurant with good atmosphere. Had reservations and were seated promptly on a very busy night. If you are looking for intimate dining this is not the place. Noise level was ridiculous. On the positive side staff was very friendly and attentive. Now to the food. Ordered the lamb ribs. What I received were two cocktail sized riblets encased in ground gyro lamb meatballs. Not at all what I was expecting or wanted. My wife ordered the carbonara. Instead of pancetta it was served with soy infused bacon strips. Made the whole dish taste like an Asian noodle dish and not carbonara. Saw great looking dishes pass by, guess we ordered the wrong entrees. While the staff was great the execution of the food was not. Not sure if we’ll give it a second chance.
Went for first time with high expectations after reading other reviews. Went for my bday, I’m 8 months pregnant and we have a 14 month old so going out alone was a big deal. This was literally our 3rd date night in a year. We were seated in a VERY LOUD greenhouse type room with numerous big parties. My husband and I couldn’t hear each other speak so we texted each other instead. I thought I would get an intimate evening..not so. Why would you have 2 tables for two in a room with such loud parties? The couple next to us were not happy either with their experience. Service was fair, waited too long for drinks as the big parties took precedent over us, the water/bus boy was the sweetest though. They charge for soda refills which is a pet peeve of mine, so greedy. The bread might be the only thing that gets me to go back. Calamari was fresh, wish it had the tentacles, the marinara for dipping was literally water dripping everywhere. My husbands lobster ravioli was amazing, my penne vodka was a disappointment, had better at my local pizzeria for half the price. Was hoping to try a dessert but was so turned off and uncomfortable to continue to sit there. Ambiance really does set the mood for your meal, where we were sat really ruined it for me. Make sure if you are a party of two you don’t get seated in that room!!!! We also weren’t given a wine list at seating another pet peeve.
Having been multiple times in the past, this time was horrible !!
A combination of server error, chef error ... just not good
The staff is especially helpful and friendly. Going there for years, now having major health issues, they have been so kind. Not to mention food is always outstanding, carefully prepared paying attention to allergies.Presentation beautiful. Submitted by John s sister
To be clear, this is my favorite restaurant. I have never had a second-rate experience until this time. I visit so infrequently I expect the best when I go and make reservations early.
Firstly, they didn't have my reservation. They lost it or didn't receive it - I don't know, but I know they didn't have my name on the list. That meant I didn't get the server I wanted, or the location I wanted.
I sat in the room outside the open kitchen. It was loud and the silverware clinking in the buckets drove me nuts. The room wasn't full but they sat everyone together leaving half the tables empty and my wife and I feeling cramped. This room doesn't have light-protection from the parking lot, so all throughout the night cars kept pulling up to the restaurant shining their lights directly into my face. The lights in the room themselves were flickering and changing brightness often.
Two times people asked me if we had questions about the menu. Which is great. However, my reply was "No we're ready to order now." Each time the reply was, "Ok, I will give you a few minutes." This added 20 minutes before we even placed an order for an appetizer.
The Sangria was forgettable, but the food was intense, unique, and amazing as always. The food carried the night. Having so many good experiences here, I am choosing to chalk this one up to random-error. But it was a real downer - the one or two times a year I get the privilege to eat here and it ended up like this.
The food was delicious and presentation was beautiful. Service was very attentive.
Always great Italian food just like Italy!
One of my favs and live 40 mins away!
Food was great, always is. We have been there many times and it never disappoints.
Biagio's is a restaurant that I frequently visit
The food, ambiance, service are all top notch!
I got the impression that being a regular patron makes a difference in the attention and service. Our first time and it took over a half hour to be seated with a reservation. Once seated we were given a basket of bread but then after 20 or so minutes we had to ask two different people for menus. The second person was a waiter that was working in another room. He was kind enough to take our table. He also apologized and offered us a glass of wine each. The food was very good. I would go back to try again and hope service is better next time. That would determine any further visits.
Top shelf as always at Biagio's. Still talking about it !!! Your staff is top notch too.
The food was amazing - everything we ordered we loved. We had to get two appetizers, two meals and dessert. It was tough to stop ourselves from ordering more food to taste!
We have been very frequent patrons of this restaurant. We have always had a good experience except on holidays. We were there on Valentines' Day and it was very crowded. The food was good as usual, but the service was very poor. We finally left without ordering dessert because the waiter was gone for so long that we gave up. We had a similar experience on New Years' Eve. I think that they simply can't handle holidays. They get overwhelmed.
Truly enjoyed the food and atmosphere for our first visit.
Great food and service!
Biagio's is consistently amazing. From the food to the service they never disappoint. Can't wait to go back again!
I am not from the local area. This is the second time to the restaurant. The first time I was so impressed with the meal that I saved the name and address for future reference if I ever got back to the area. After several years, the opportunity to be back in the area came up.
When it was time for dinner I dug up the name I had saved and headed back. The restaurant was just I had remembered it. Great ambiance, outstanding service and excellent food.
I hope I get another opportunity come back soon.
Service was fair at best. I normally do not have to ask the waiter to check on our order ( it was getting beyond the point of just slow) One of the people at our table ordered a salad and an app and asked for the salad first, which didn't happen and we had to send it back.
We recommended this restaurant to friends whom went with us for an evening meal. We were very disappointed in the evenings experience. Noise levels were extremely high. Plates were clattering next to our ears constantly as we were placed near the kitchen counter were the plates were continually placed in stacks. Shaved brussel sprouts appetizer had absolutely no taste. I think the preparer forgot to put dressing on it. The waiter was very poor at serving us due to his lack of attention and always seemed rushed and disoriented. I had the shrimp and pineapple which I thought tasted good, but ended up becoming ill with upset stomach issues one half hour after eating and for the next two days. All of us were uncomfortable due to the heat coming from the kitchen. I was at the point of sweating most of the time there. Desert was lacking as the waiter forgot to add the hot caramel sauce.
We were sorry we recommended the Biagio's restaurant to our friends, and were completely disappointed, and will not recommend this restaurant again.
We were celebrating the retirement of one husband and the purchasing of a new small business in Connecticut by another husband. Had a wonderful time with great food and great friends!
This is my new favorite restaurant!! My husband and I ate here because a friend gave us a gift certificate. I had heard the restaurant was great, but I thought when quickly reviewing the menu that the dishes seemed a little pricey for Italian so we had never tried it on our own. Well, I wouldn't ever call their food traditional Italian! It was amazingly fresh Italian inspired dishes, with a huge twist of flavors and presentation that will amaze any foodie. The service was on top of everything from keeping water/wine glasses filled, to checking in to make sure we didn't need anything at just the right frequency, and then lastly didn't rush us out the door at all (we sat with our water just chatting when we finished dinner/drinks, and then asked for the check). It was a perfect experience. Can't wait to go back!
I liked this place. It was good but not great. Our waiter and his helpers were very attentive.
It was a little cold in the glass extension we sat in, my guess is hot in the summer.
The food was fresh and the sauces were good. I found the meatball app to be mushy.
I also have a problem with being charged for a refill on an Ice Tea. The glass was rather small, way too much ice so maybe 6oz of tea?
We will give it another shot as they sent us a gift for booking on open table.
We were in a pasta mood and split 3 pasta course. Lobster Ravioli, Truffle Porcini Ravioli, and the Cavatelli. All three were fantastic. Reminded us of some great restaurants we use to frequent in Manhattan. Its great to have Biagios close to home.
Biagio always out does himself. All four of us loved our meals. Osso bucco the best I've ever had, falls of the bone and so much flavor.
Great wine list with some unique find's. Dry aged bone in rib eye was perfect, nice char melted in my mouth. Wife loved her sea bass. Great great great meal.
I had heard about this restaurant for a long time and had never gone. I am in the catering industry and eat out a lot. Major Foodie here! The food was amazing here! There are so many great menu options I need to go back a few times to try them all! And I will !
Was given a gift certificate to eat at Biagios and decided to try it. I had a reservation and was seated at the bar to eat. Ordered a salda that was very good, the meatball could've used a little bit more flavor and the chicken dish was ok, I've had better. So been there done that and wasn't moved as to where I would say that I want to eat there again. Overall experience was ok.
We were seated just under the kitchen window where plates were being piled and were banging in our ears. It was very difficult to hear our dinner conversation with all the noise from the kitchen. Restaurant had plenty of open tables and I couldn't understand why we were seated there. Not pleased with our seating arrangement at all. Food was ok, portions on the small side. Not sure I would return.
Met a friend for dinner who was staying at the Trumbull Marriott. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent Italian food and the service was also very good
Excellent food. Great service. Menu choices were such that we didn’t know what to choose.
Every meal was presented beautifully and tasted great. Our fist time here and we will definitely return. Only negative for us was the noise level.
