About Biagio's Osteria
Rustic Southern Italian kitchen with strong influence from Tuscany. All professional staff with over 30 years experience.
"It is most certainly a gourmet establishment with a menu from top to bottom that is exquisitely creative with tastes and flavors and choices that make selections so joyously difficult--and with a wine list to match food and pocketbook. Consider this the now best Italian restaurant in the state. Three cheers for Biagio the chef."
"Concealed jewel, but easily accessible off the parkway. Esteemed staff that goes about taking care of your every need, especially the maitre d'. Exceptional menu with meals that make you crave for more. The homemade pasta dishes are unequaled to any place in the state. This is an elite restaurant that I will entertain my family and my business clients at. Head chef will go above and beyond his means for satisfaction of customer."

Biagio's Osteria Ratings and Reviews
Very noisy and staff pre-occupied with large party - felt like they were looking to turn tables over when we were out for relaxing dinner — we were in and out in an hour; felt more like a diner than the high end experience we expected— the great food and it’s presentation were as advertised
I will go back in the hopes that maybe we were just there on an off night -
We had a party of 7 for the meal, that could have been a problem, but we had a very good table with privacy, minimal noise, and had a wait staff that was on their A game. As usual the food and presentation was first rate. Their specials of the night are always recommended, I have never been disappointed. An overall very pleasant experience.
We were seated next to a large party with ill-behaved children. My 87-year old mother was having trouble hearing anything, so we asked to move. We were located 3 tables away—not ideal.
Our waiter seemed inexperienced but friendly.
An appetizer of fried calamari arrived after one diner had finished his salad. Seemed to me that someone had forgotten it as it was undercooked, soggy, and had no flavor. I barely touched it. First time I’ve ever been grossed out at Biagio’s.
The pasta entree was fine but after the loudness of the room and the terrible app, I wasn’t so hungry.
Very disappointing evening.
Absolutely LOVED this place!! Food was Excellent...very tasty. Nice atmosphere, with outside dining. Easy to get to, right off the Merritt Parkway. The staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. If you want a really good place to eat this is IT...and its not expensive! I HIGHLY recommend it !!!
The basket of bread was warm and delightful. However, the calamari was soggy and we like them crisp. The rib-eye steak should be fatty for taste but not solid fat-- half of the fat could have been trimmed off. Canoli's were perfect-- lightly crisp shell with fresh filling.
Tried Biaggio to compare with Il Palio and Aribella for lunch. Service was ok. However my wine glass was sticky. Either the waiter hands were dirty or the glass was not clean. Either way the thrill is gone after that. Eggplant was good pasta underneath was way overcooked. Some lunch items were not available.
Cesar salad, had no zip, shrimp overly salty and I like salt. Overall lunch was ok but dissapointing.
My wife and I went on a Saturday night. The service was poor - I was handed a menu of specials with food on it along with grease stains. The manager was arguing with the wait staff and bus boys who argued with the bar staff. We had to wait a very long time for food to arrive. The salads were swimming in dressing and should have sent them back. The lobster souffle was watery without any lobster meat in it. The bronzino oreganata was luke warm and tasteless.
The restaurant was extremely noisy and we had trouble hearing each other.
Over all a very disappointing poor, expensive experience
Very creative menu - authentic Italian cuisine. Delicious, beautiful salads, several very good choices for main course. Desserts are scrumptious and presented beautifully. Had Joey's wine cooler/ pomegranate flavor that was cold, crisp and perfect for warm summer night. Excellent service!
My husband and I have been here more times than I can count and usually I can count on it to be superlative. Not last night. Although the service was spot on, the food was less than stellar, which is unusual for this place. Granted, I haven't been there for a few months, but has it really declined? Let me explain. My husband ordered the lobster bisque en croute, which although it tasted great and was very creamy and rich, instead of lobster, it was artificial crab. Really? Do you actually believe New Englanders can't tell? The price of lobsters is not high right now. Couldn't you have a least made an effort? Secondly, we both ordered the evening's special, which was advertised as Branzino. For those who have never had it, Branzino is a firm, white, European sea-bass which has become very popular here in the states. What was served was definitely NOT Branzino, but could be compared more to an over-cooked, mushy filet of sole or even tilapia. It was so overcooked it was almost unrecognizable as fish and had completely turned to mush. Very disappointing. We each did enjoy a lovely $10 glass of wine each, but didn't stick around to have coffee or dessert. I would rather go home and ensure that it's edible. Sorry Biagio. Don't know who was cooking last night or who bought the food. If you're going to advertise something as lobster or Branzino, make sure you're selling the real deal not some phone imitation.
My children gave my wife and I two $50 gift cards for our anniversary. We went to Biagio's to celebrate because we were never disappointed with their food, always excellent. When we were finished with our meal we gave the server our gift cards and a credit card. When he returned we were only allowed to use one gift card. The server said it was their policy to only accept one card at a time. The gift card did not state such a policy.
I asked my children if they were made a wear of this gift card policy when they purchased the gift cards and they were not. So just be fore warned when purchasing gift cards that assuming they are like cash and can be used anytime, that this is not the case at Biagio's. Disappointed!
Service was super slow. Our table was shoehorned in between two others and the chairs were tightly packed so one could not easily exit without disturbing other guests. Calamari Fritti was undercooked not crispy. Ceasar Tower salad had a funky taste. Frutti de Mare dish had overcooked pasta. We were next to the noisy kitchen, so we could not hear ourselves talk. Service did not come back to our table often enough. The restaurant needs a makeover.
We were looking for a good restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Two people recommended this restaurant. When I made the reservation on Open Table, it asked if this was for a special occasion. It was our wedding anniversary and I asked for a special table if possible. We had never been there before and were not familiar with the seating. We were sat in a dark room, table for four. The food was very good, very original. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Service was very attentive. We were impressed by the number of people they had on to assist the waiters. But, no one talked. There was no atmosphere going on, no happiness, no excitement. Just quiet. It was like they were not allowed to speak. When we were leaving, we noticed there was seating available in sun-room and outside.
I would prefer to make a reservation over the phone from now on.
