BH STEAK Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I were looking for a good steak option near the casino so we looked online and found that BH Steak had good reviews. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation but were told to come back 'closer to the time of our reservation'. We could see over 10 open tables and the hostess knew that so she said they didn't have enough staff. We came back 10 minutes later. She said she wasn't sure she could seat us but she did . Our server was very good. He offered good advice and served us at a perfect pace. The bbq shrimp is out of this world. However the steak was just so-so. Not much flavor in the ribeye. The baked potato was seriously overcooked or had been sitting for a very long time. We should have asked for a replacement but just wanted to finish up and move on. Overall it was an ok experience but I wouldn't return if I was looking for a really good steak.
Steaks were good, but a bit pricey. Tenderloin was excellent,as was the strip steak. Service was exceptional. Wine was also good. If you’re at Harrahs and craving a steak, this is a good place to go if you’re winning or if you want to stay close to the casino.
We were unaware it was located inside the casino so my expectations were immediately lowered upon arrival. However, the food was pretty good and our server was wonderful! The hostesses and all other staff were incredibly friendly too. I'm glad we gave it a chance.
The visit to Besh steakhouse was very much an enjoyable experience. Our server Anthony was first class and had excellent knowledge of the menu and drinks to pair with the food. Our appetisers were delicious and we would recommend both the crab bisque and the apple salad. The to be steak entree was cooked perfectly and paired beautifully with the pinot noir recommended by Anthony. Avgreat meal.
I ordered the scallops which were done to perfection. We had a super server by the name of Tiffany who gave us the best service. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I also ordered the crab bisque which was overflowing with pieces of crab meat. Delicious!!
Ordered bottle of wine which had to be cooled, waited too long. Tried seafood gumbo but sausage in the gumbo was over powering. Wife tried crab and corn bisque, but tasted a little burnt. I had a filet which had a bordelaise sauce on it but the sauce was spread all over the steak and did not have a good taste to it. Overall the evening was a disaster.
Been wanting to check out Besh since planning my NO trip. It didn’t disappoint. Loved the BBQ shrimp appetizer. Was a little afraid it may be on the hot side but instead was delicious. We even ate all the bread that was served with it for dipping. Yummy! Then had the 14 oz Ribeye. Man cooked just right and didn’t need the steak knife as it could be cut with th butter knife. Last but not least we shared the creme brûlée. Wow what a way to end the meal. Go! You won’t be sorry.
We are from Chicago and have great steak houses here. We stayed in Nola for seven day's and ate at Besh twice. My steak was like butter soft and done medium well (Not Butterflied). Get the barbequed shrimp and save some bread for the sauce........We go to Besh at least twice every time that we are on New Orleans....JUST GO THERE... It is in Harrah's Casino...Eat well and have fun....enjoy
The best part of our visit was the friendly hostesses at the entrance. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed in the meals we received and the service was disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber. We do not anticipate ever going back to this restaurant.
The reviews I've read regarding this restaurant were not that great. Our experience was fantastic. Our waiter, Allen D, took very good care of us. I could cut the filet with my fork. The bread pudding was the best I've had. I have nothing bad to say about this place. My wife and I will be back next time we come to NOLA.
Came here with my bf and his mom to celebrate his and my belated birthday dinner since she lives in Lake Charles and she comes here once or twice a year. I've hear about Besh, but never came because I don't often come downtown or go to the casino. Decided to come here and it was a great experience. Eric, our server was very professional and checked up on us. The food was delicious and it left everyone happy. The whipped devil eggs with caviar was what was brought to the table. Then we ordered the corn and crab bisque, pork stuffed chicken wings and Brussel's sprouts to start with. For our entrees, we ordered the Ribeye, the pork chop and a fish dish. We finished up with the chocolate ganache with Hazelnut ice cream. Totally worth it! I would definitely come back and recommend this place.
The service was excellent. The food was good. The steak was tasty and tender. I was a little disappointed with the bread pudding. It seems like they changed the recipe for it since I was last there. I liked the old recipe.
We are visiting and staying at Harrah's New Orleans I went online booked reservations noted it was for my birthday we showed up early but the host seated us anyway the waitress was great recommended the ribeye my wife and I ordered it the server was great he delivered our dinner we started eating the steaks were very fatty with lots of gristle, but the meat you could eat was tender. The waitress checked up on us frequently then asked if we wanted anything else we said no thank you she handed us our check said thank you. No one mentioned my birthday even though it was noted on my reservation. Not my favorite steak house!
I cannot say enough about our dinner at Besh Steakhouse. Our waiter Todd was personable and professional- amazing service from start to finish. We also were visited by both GM and floor manager to ensure we were enjoying our meal. Now let's talk about the food! OMG - honestly some of the best food we have ever eaten! We started with the stuffed oysters and BBQ shrimp - stuffed oysters were plump beautiful and amazingly seasoned - my husband does not like oysters and he liked these. Now the BBQ shrimp - i could eat these every day and i am not a shrimp fan. The shrimp themselves were perfectly cooked but the sauce, oh the sauce, literally we were liking the plate - it was smokey and flavourful and just the right amount of heat. For our main course we had the filet and red fish as well as a side of the lump crab risotto. There was nothing left on our plates- sauces that should have been heavy were light and flavourful, all sides were devoured - each part of the meal complimented each other. I also cannot forget the amazing cocktails, wine and espresso- all delicious! Do yourself a favour go here and make sure that you order the BBQ shrimp!
I really liked going to Besh in the past but to me it's not what it once was. Food was just OK and I really wish chefs would stop playing with the menu. What was once a wonderful dish gets changed and not always for the better. I understand taking things off the menu if they don't sell well but I really feel it's more because they want to try something new. Wish they would keep in mind people come back to the same restaurant over & over again because they liked what they had before & look forward to having it again. Doubt my group will go back any time soon. We were really disappointed this time!!
I love John Besh restaurants but if I had realized it was in the middle of Harrah's I might have chosen another. The ambiance was somewhat non-existent and it's pretty small so you can't even pretend you're not in a casino. Not the restaurants fault and the food was still delicious, I just didn't want to stay there for any length of time.
The service was great, the food was great, the atmosphere was nice.
I was not happy about the table next to mine having a dog at the table. I was very upset about this . I would consider a John Besh restaurant to be an upscale place. If you are going to allow animals in an eating establishment you should alert your other guests that there is an animal in the restaurant. It does not matter if it has a special collar or not. My wife or I could have been allergic to animals. I would not have eaten there if I knew the dog was there. You have to consider all your guest not just the ones like that. Please advise your guest that an animal is present and let them decide if they want to be by it.
