BeyondBurma was created with passion for food and inspiration to share Burmese culture in the most diverse city, San Francisco. When the founders came to US 18 years ago, they had only one thing in mind. It was to live American dream by running their own business and introducing delicious Burmese cuisine. Little did they know, Burmese food was already popular and well liked by everyone who had tried. However, they found that there is more demand than the supply when it comes to Burmese food establishment and most restaurants keep it very traditional. That is why the founders decided to come up with something more authentic but also being creative by adding a few twists to their fun menu. Now, BeyondBurma is open for dinner during the week and open for brunch and dinner on weekends.

The pictures was nothing like the restaurant. The food was nasty and believe that’s what made me sick later on.

This is a fantastic restaurant and a great value for the money. Ginger salad and curries were excellent. Faced with a 5:30 pre-theater rush, the server made sure everybody got served in time to make curtain call. Great concept on space sharing in a breakfast-lunch place. Appears to be family run. Highly recommended.

The food was uneven but some of our dishes were great. Service was okay — they are clearly too stretched.

The food was just okay. The servers were very nice, and they food didn't take long to come. But for the price, the amount of food is so small. It would be acceptable if the taste was amazing, but it was just okay for me. I'd go again if I was in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit.

Authentic and delicious food. Felt like servent was new and wasn't really on point. Atmosphere is simple and very low key. Overall would definitely go back!

Give them 5 stars for effort but only 3 stars for the food quality.
We went pre theater; they had just one waitress initially and then a second person joined her. They tried very hard, especially after we told them that we had a show at 8pm, but were really short staffed.
We ordered tha tea leaf salad: mediocre, have had much better ones. Typically it is mixed st the table but here they just brought out a mixed portion that tasted just ok.
Samosa soup: this was good
Parents ( appetizer): was under cooked and the dipping sauce with it was totally watery. We could not eat it, that bad

This is a pop up and I was excited to try it after reading reviews. If the food had been wonderful, I would have forgiven the well-meaning but very spotty and slow service. Unfortunately, the food was not wonderful. The overall bill was low, so that was a plus, but because the food was not great, it didn't feel like a value. I do feel that the staff were very earnest and want to do well.

Found this pop up last minute for dinner and it was very very good. Really good value, super friendly staff and excellent food. We had 2 curries, samosas, salt and pepper chicken and fried rice. All great. Got a bit busy as we
we were leaving and it was a little slow to clear plates and get the check - but it's a pop up and it went from quiet to full in about 15 minutes which is always tough. Needless to say the food came out really quick so all good, we were in and out in under an hour. I really hope this becomes a permanent fixture!

Delicious Burmese food at an affordable price. Highly recommend the tea leaf salad (spicy) and the Malaysian beer.

Really tasty!! Tea leaf salad and salt and pepper calamari were amazing! Super fresh and flavorful. Very friendly waiters and eager to make sure you were enjoying everything. Great experience I’d go back in a heartbeat.
