About BEVO Bar + Pizzeria
BEVO Bar + Pizzeria is a lively Old Montreal eatery and bar, which captures the bustling spirit of the neighbourhood and offers a convivial meeting spot for locals and visitors alike. Chef Giovanni Vella mans the kitchen, serving antipasti, insalate, pizze, and pasta, meat and fish dishes. The pizze are baked in a wood-burning oven, which gives them their crisp-yet-chewy crust. A well-selected list of global wines, beer and refreshing cocktails complements BEVO's menu, which is capped by a great assortment of traditional Italian desserts.

BEVO Bar + Pizzeria Ratings and Reviews
Had a lovely and speedy experience at Bevo. For starters we ordered the calamari and the burrata as well as a glass of white wine! The calamari were delicious and the burrata was to die for! Crositinis were a great consistency! For the mains I got the Margherita and my date got the Salame, both of which were very good! We couldn't finish them all and brought the rest home for lunch the next day. We also took a Nutella pizza as desert but asked to wrap it up to take home. Safe to say it smelt so good it barely made it home! We ate most of it in the car. Our waitress Rebecca was speedy and very attentive with all our questions! Would definitely come back when in the Old Port area!
Got there early and was seated by the kitchen. We saw there were several empty tables and asked to be moved. They were not willing to accommodate us. Service was sub par. We ordered calimari for the appetizer, barely edible so we hardly touched it. Entrees were good, but not memorable.
Experience started off strong. We were given the option of two different tables, one with more seclusion which we took due to the high noise levels from the patrons and the music.
After being sat, we waited 25 minutes before we got to speak with a server. Upon speaking with someone we were told they would be there in a couple of minutes. We waited patiently as we watched every other table around get served in a timely matter.
A separate server came to take our order and proceeded to get our drink order wrong but fixed it once he had realized he did not remember the order correctly. Write it down.
Third, we finally received our food. It was amazing! We each got a pizza, they were cooked perfectly and we wouldn't have them any other way. That is what good pizza tastes like. We were thrilled and we seemed to be seeing the server slightly more frequently. Don't let that fool you.
Once we were finished our food our plates were taken away a while after and our waters were refilled. After that we sat there for approximately 45 minutes with empty drink cups, both water and alternative beverages. We had to flag down one of the there's waiters who had been assisting us in order to get our bill. It was as if we were being discarded as we could still see every other table being served while we sat there patiently waiting.
We finally got the cheque and when we asked where the rest rooms were we were told 'go around there past the door and on your right', firstly; where is there?! She was looking at the handheld credit machine screen. Not helpful at all we wandered around and found it ourselves. Fine.
Overall, don't go if you aren't looking to spend at least two hours at the restaurant. This seems to be a fast place for some tables and slow for others but not sure why. We only tried the pizzas and they were to die for so I would highly recommend getting a pizza. They make it clearly known that they specialize in pizzas so they veer you away from ordering other items.
Came with my family of 8 from out of town. They were not very busy at the time but still the server was not attentive. Ordered things that were never brought to us. There was an issue with one of the meals, it was not cooked to someone's liking but instead of not charging for it since it was not eaten they charged me half. Would not recommend due to poor customer service.
Brick oven pizza was awesome. We're pretty selective about our pizza and BEVO really stands out. Service was attentive and friendly. Only complaint was that seating in the cool-looking section you see on the website was not open--more like a traditional pizza bar where we sat.
I was there to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday (2 people)- We ordered a bottle of wine to start and the waitress opened it before she verified what we asked for(requested a Cabernet and got a Shiraz). The appetizer came fairly quickly, but our main course didn't arrive for over 1 hour. The Waitress apologized and confessed that she forgot to put our order in. We finally got our food, but no bread was offered with my husbands pasta. We finally got another waitress walking by to give us a few pieces of bread at the end of our meal. The food was good, and may give this place another chance as long as we have a more experienced server.
The location is great being at the heart of old port, however, as you would expect the quality of the food is not on par with the value. That being said, items my party chose such as pizza, pasta, and risotto were varying in quality with the only consistency being price. Service was moderate and the atmosphere gave a vibrant spin to the restaurant.
We made a reservation for our anniversary and it was a beautiful evening however when we arrived a very rude hostess refused to seat us outside even though there was an empty table for 4. She told us you could only sit inside if you had a reservation! Luckily a much friendlier, more professional hostess met us inside and fixed the problem- the rest of the evening was lovely!
Friendly welcome, reservation confirmed, seated immediately. Our server arrived quickly and welcomed us. We ordered our food and wine and everything was delicious, the service always polite and friendly. The only slight "problem" was that our main courses arrived just a little too quickly. I am looking forward to my next visit to sample more of the menu.
