For over 100 years Bettys has been devoted to lifting spirits with life’s little pleasures; handmade cakes, unique freshly baked products, beautiful Café Tea Rooms, rare and exclusive coffees and teas and continental-inspired menus.
There are five Bettys Café Tea Rooms in Yorkshire, each with its own shop where you can walk in and enjoy breakfast, lunch and an afternoon treat.

Bettys is famous for afternoon tea, and if you want to experience the finest we offer, you can book a table for our Belmont Room in York or our Imperial Room in Harrogate. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones.
Join us for evening dining Thursday to Saturday, where we bring together elegant surroundings, a refined food and drinks menu. Also, for that extra dash of after-hours elegance, a pianist performs live classical covers of popular contemporary music.

    You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a lavish selection of dainty savouries, sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible miniature cakes and scones. Please note: For any dietary requests (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, children) please use the 'Special requests' box during the booking process. For any allergies or intolerances please call 0800 456 1919. Set menu: A selection of savouries, Sandwiches; Egg mayonnaise with crispy onion on a milk roll, Salami and mozzarella on tomato bread and Flaked salmon, horseradish, celery and caper on malted grain. Patisserie; Salted Caramel and Chocolate Rose, Yuzu and Raspberry slice and a Strawberry and Almond macaroon.

    The charcuterie board was excellent and no problem to adapt to GF for my husband. Service was, as ever in Betty’s, superb. Would also recommend the haddock rosti. Nice to be able to enjoy dinner in such lovely surroundings.

    What a lovely experience, 10/10! It was beautiful,a great place for a special occasion or even just because! We had a most delicious afternoon tea, and each tier was tantalising in its flavours, and a visual delight too. Wonderful service, and when we got so full that we couldn't do justice to the cakes and macarons on the top tier of the exquisite cake stand, along came a box and bag to pack the goodies in to take away. The salmon and horseradish sandwiches were my favourite, and the lemon and poppy seed scones most unusual and popping with flavour. The Piano player added to the occasion, playing gentle and melodic tunes. Thanks to the waiting staff, we had a most memorable experience.

    Amazing afternoon at Betty’s tearoom, we were on the imperial room and the experience was perfect. The pianist was a lovely touch, they played happy birthday for my grandma - she was thrilled. The food was delicious, the best afternoon tea we’ve ever had! Our server, Eva was fantastic and couldn’t have been more helpful. Thankyou!

    Highly recommend pre booking the afternoon tea in the Belmont Room. Such a beautiful place and the ambience is just perfect. We had champagne afternoon tea and it was well worth the money. Staff are professional and friendly. The food was great and there was a lovely selection of teas to suit everyone.

    Beautiful, directions to get there, even making reservations. The customer service team helpful even overseas correspondence. The link they provide to help you get to them. All the signage very helpful to find. The staff helpful from the moment I arrived thru my whole teatime experience, food outstanding, ambiance beautiful including decorations, the pianist (live pianist), and the staff uniforms. I am so glad I was informed of this place and so sorry I don’t live close to do this annually!

    We fully enjoyed our afternoon tea. Our only small item to note is that our server only asked half of our table if they required additional sandwiches/cakes.

    Great experience, fab food and lovely service.. they even had the same desserts for gluten free menu which I was happy about as it meant I didn’t miss out on any lovely desserts with being gluten free.
