For over 100 years Bettys has been devoted to lifting spirits with life’s little pleasures; handmade cakes, unique freshly baked products, beautiful Café Tea Rooms, rare and exclusive coffees and teas and continental-inspired menus.

There are five Bettys Café Tea Rooms in Yorkshire, each with its own shop where you can walk in and enjoy breakfast, lunch and an afternoon treat.

Bettys is famous for afternoon tea, and if you want to experience the finest we offer, you can book a table for our Belmont Room in York or our Imperial Room in Harrogate. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones.
Join us for evening dining Thursday to Saturday, where we bring together elegant surroundings, a refined food and drinks menu. Also, for that extra dash of after-hours elegance, a pianist performs live classical covers of popular contemporary music.

    We had a fabulous evening. At least 4 members of staff, one in training, all excellent and engaging. Delicious food, excellent house wine from Switzerland.

    A thoroughly enjoyable experience - highly recommended. The food was excellent and the tearoom was beautiful, spacious and peaceful, with a pianist gently playing in the background. The staff were attentive but not intrusive at all. Thank you Betty’s.

    Lovely afternoon in Bettys Harrogate. Beautiful relaxing afternoon in the piano room with friends. Staff very attentive & the sandwiches and scones were a delight.

    The experience was quite perfect. Such a lovely ambiance. Light and airy. A full dining room but still peaceful dining. The service was fabulous with special mention of Olivia who served us most of the time and was delightful. Very professional, courteous and friendly. The wine was exceptional and the 3 course evening meal I chose was amazing. I can’t wait to visit again when I come back to Harrogate. Bettys definitely deserves a full 5 stars plus.

    Nice experience in lovely surroundings including a pianist playing. Food was very nice and beautifully presented. The staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive, but not continually ‘hovering’, so balance just right. Our only criticism is that we felt it was a bit too expensive.

    The overall experience was amazing. The food was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. The service was without doubt perfect. The lady was cheerful and talkative with excellent table service. The ambience was lovely with the pianist in the background

    I came with my daughter today to celebrate my birthday and we had a perfect afternoon tea. The waitress was very attentive and polite and the cakes etc were superb. We will certtailny come again.
