"Betts" is a tribute to Elizabeth Schofield, wife of Captain Levi Schofield and our namesake. The space is cozy yet airy and feels like a mix between a restaurant and a very cool home that you’d happily want to reside in all day. Betts is inspired by American dishes we all know and love but reinvented with a thoughtful approach. The menu focuses on freshness, quality and whole foods put out from a predominantly scratch kitchen. It's easy to eat healthy here and it's just as easy to indulge- the menu has something for everyone.

The restaurant looked more luxurious online. It was actually more industrial and sorta cold with the cement floor. The fireplace area was very nice however! The food wasn’t bad however 3 of the 4 of us ordered the papadelle pasta which was not papadelle noodles but some sort of rotini shape. We were all disappointed. The 4th ordered a salmon salad which was fine. Service was very good.

We sat at the bar. The bartenders, Daud (sp?), Jaren, and Arianna were so friendly and had great food suggestions. We had some delicious appetizers and sides. All things considered, a very nice place to stop before a game or show.

We drive in from Columbus and were delayed due to rain and heavy traffic. We were running about 30 minutes late for our 4:30 reservation. The staff was very accommodating and understanding. The food was very good and the atmosphere is cozy.

We had cocktails and appetizers before a show, service was very polite but slow as they were fully booked on a Friday, to be expected. We had the beet hummus and whipped feta herb dips, grilled pita, crudite. Everything was tasty except the whipped feta tasted like Cool Whip mixed with fennel, not good as it was sweet not savory as expected. We asked the server about it and she said it whipping cream. Not sure how they made it that sweet but feta is a savory cheese. Cocktails were awesome!

A little gem for nice, casual dining prior to a show in Playhouse Square. After a short was from the theater we had a lovely 1st experience here. Our server, Emily, was friendly and seemed to know just when to stop by to let us dine at our pace and still be on time to walk back to the theater for our show. We shared pretzels as an appetizer. Enjoyed the 2 sauces. My husband had the burger which was good but a bit over cooked. My Bolognese was very good with a kick. After dining we had a quick 10 minute walk back to the theater. A nice change from the typical theater district restaurants. We will definitely be back.

Phenomenal food! So fresh. You can tell they care about quality food and service. I highly recommend Betts! We had a fantastic lunch. First time there and will not be out last! So good!

Delicious brunch food with plenty of options. Prices are reasonable, mimosas are nothing fancy but delicious. Our server, Cash, was polite, attentive, and didn't rush us.

This was our second visit for dinner before shows at Playhouse Square and we loved it. Lily was a fantastic server and everyone we interacted with was so pleasant. Great wine, excellent food and atmosphere. We weren’t rushed but still had plenty of time to get to the show early. This will be our go for dinner before events. Much better than most of the restaurants downtown (even the high end ones).

So disappointed. Incredibly slow service, unbelievably slow. Dining companion was brought food that was not what they ordered. It should not take that long to get the correct order out while I'm waiting to eat my food. Actually ridiculous. Food was quite mediocre. No need to ever return. So many better places to try.

I ordered the roasted garlic mashed potatoes but they brought me macaroni. They had run out of the potatoes and hadn't asked if I wanted macaroni instead. I didn't; I rejected that, so they brought me garlic fries, again without asking. But I ate those. I also ordered the grilled asparagus, which was so salty I couldn't eat it. The food that WAS edible was very good. It is with reservation that I'd recommend Betts.

The food was delicious, so we ate there twice. The wait staff were efficient and cheerful. If we ever go back to Cleveland, we’ll be sure to eat at Betts again. Five stars (except for the noise level).

We decided to try Betts again after a miserable experience before a concert a year ago. This time we had 6:00 reservations for a 7:30 show, we almost didn't make it, it was close to an hour to get a salad and a bowl, no appetizers no dessert. They can't seem to figure out the service piece still, food was okay, nothing noteworthy.

The breakfast menu isn't huge, but what we got was very good. I got the Breakfast Sammi on an everything bagel. It was very good. My wife got scrambled eggs and toast, which was good. The staff was very attentive. The music was a bit load for the space and the 6 to 10 people in the restaurant that morning. I would go back again.

This review is based on 2 different visits. Saturday 8:30am breakfast we were told we couldn’t have a table without a reservation (literally not 1 table was in use), so we sat at the bar & it was fine. But, like really? Not 1 table available, when the restaurant is EMPTY? Monday morning they were out of certain items (at 8am). This place is poorly managed and the reviews are exactly true. Don’t bother and just step out of the hotel and go somewhere local.

The wait staff was very polite and nice, and food was good, but cocktails were so so, and everything took forever to come out. Id say we waited 20 minutes for our drinks and then another 10 after that for the appetizers, but we ordered them together. No one checked on us in between the long waits either. We thought it would be a quick bite to eat before a show, but took 2 hours!

Sorry to tell, disappointment, service terrible, 2 times brought the wrong dish, the food not as expected, the only thing good was the coffee although i have to stand up to get the sugar and stirrer to the coffee station, the did not have enough waitress and they do need training, about the food I ordered avocado toast which was brolied egg cut into pieces and mash avocado over a bread with some cherry tomatoes diced in half and picked red onions, the egg wasn’t over the toast and it made it hard to eat, also not very tasty. I will not recommend it. Sorry there is a lot to improve. It was very busy day a lot of customers.

We were staying at the adjoining hotel and had 3 meals here. Each was the same— Great food, but terrible service. The staff are awkward at best, completely inattentive at worst— approaching the table and staring at us but not speaking, forgetting entire components of the order. After discussing our poor experiences with the hotel staff, we learned that the restaurant is completely unaffiliated with the hotel (which is Kimpton branded and fairly upscale) and is known to cause issues for its guests due to the poor service and rude staff. A few strange things to note: 1. The breakfast “hash” is just roasted potatoes. No special seasoning, no veggies or peppers or onions. Just potatoes. 2. They don’t have any bottles of ketchup, just packets. When they were brought to us during breakfast the packets were sticky and covered in what I assume was syrup, as if we had dug them out of a bucket at a cafeteria. 3. They have an espresso machine and can churn out your typical lattes, etc. but be wary of this as your server is also your barista, and based on the quality of beverages served, it seems they have no training in this whatsoever. I would potentially pickup takeout from here or order room service at the Kimpton but would not go back to the dining room based on service alone.

We ate here for brunch on a Sunday. Sat outside cause it was a nice day, but that means you also have to deal with people revving vehicles on E9th and panhandlers coming up behind you. Most of the food was okay, except my wife's avocado toast that had little avocado and her poached egg that wasn't really done right and she said tasted like vinegar. Service was generally good, but the meal was not a good value. Almost $100 for four and nobody ordered drinks. I was upcharged for a gluten free "bun" with was just two slices of bread. Unlikely to return.

Stopped here before a show at the playhouse. I was a little disappointed in the beer selection, but still found something to order. Overall the food was good, but maybe a little overpriced. Staff was nice and attentive. All that being said, I would go back if I was in the area.
