The food was good, but everything could have been a bit better. The pasta was overcooked by about 30 seconds. The meatballs were a bit too dense. The staff was attentive and kind, and most of the food was enjoyable, but I felt like some of the dishes could’ve been just a bit better. The Porchetta Did not have enough crispy skin and was a bit overcooked, but the flavor was good. The escarole was tasty, but perhaps a bit over salted. The meatballs were tasty but a bit too dense. Again, many of the dishes were tasty, but probably could’ve been a bit better.

I say this from experience, eating at Bettola is just like eating in Italy. The ingredients are fresh and the plates are delicious, unlike many so called “Italian” restaurants in the Bay Area. Can’t wait to return to Bettola for another delicious authentic Italian meal!

It was our second time at Bettola, and we were excited to attend the 1-year anniversary party, but it was a very different experience from our first time having dinner there. We made a reservation, but once seated, we were forgotten about and had to ask for water cups and for a server (to order our food). Everything took a realllllly long time to come out, again ... perhaps due to the celebration, but the meatballs were cold and they had "small bites" for people, but wouldn't give them out to the folks who made an effort to make a reservation (us!) Super weird. Seemed like tons of workers but they were wandering and seemed to give attention to friends and family of the owners. We'll try again and see if it was a one-off.

Lovely spot with a great vibe. The ambience is cozy and welcoming, and the service was outstanding—Carolina, our waitress, was especially kind and attentive. The highlight? Caponata di melanzane—hands down the best I’ve had in California. Highly recommended!

The food was good but I didn't appreciate the $14.00 arancini as it is called on one place one their menu and croquette on another. Just being back from a food tour of Roma and Trestevere, the arancini and suppli are about 1 €or 2€? They are not that expensive at Flour & Water or Fiorello. The orecchiette was good but not al dente. The porchetta and greens were good but could've used a drizzling of jous or olive oil over the top. The presentation of the dish was a bit weak. The rose was tasty and worth $14. The fruit "crostata" was a slice of tart, not a crostata. A bit confused? Yes. The crust was overly dry and filling too sweet and it looked store bought. A dollop of whipped cream would've brightened the presentation. John our server was really pleasant. I'd sit in his station anytime! Love the concept of this place but it really needs leadership and strong direction. The owners need to visit Roscoli in Rome for deep inspiration.
