   The food was good but I didn't appreciate the $14.00 arancini as it is called on one place one their menu and croquette on another. Just being back from a food tour of Roma and Trestevere, the arancini and suppli are about 1 €or 2€? They are not that expensive at Flour & Water or Fiorello. The orecchiette was good but not al dente. The porchetta and greens were good but could've used a drizzling of jous or olive oil over the top. The presentation of the dish was a bit weak. The rose was tasty and worth $14. The fruit "crostata" was a slice of tart, not a crostata. A bit confused? Yes. The crust was overly dry and filling too sweet and it looked store bought. A dollop of whipped cream would've brightened the presentation. John our server was really pleasant. I'd sit in his station anytime! Love the concept of this place but it really needs leadership and strong direction. The owners need to visit Roscoli in Rome for deep inspiration.

   Food was delicious! We got the porchetta, orecchiette, asparagus and bread w/ prosciutto - perfect amount for two people. Great wine list and overall good vibes. We will be back!

   What a great local, neighborhood restaurant. It has that old-time Clement St charm, reminiscent of bygone days. Authentic Italian. We started with bread with dipping oil, which was very tasty - peppery and garlicky. We literally asked for seconds on the dipping oil. For dinner we had roasted chicken with roasted potatoes, which both were crispy (just the way I like them) and flavorful. The other dish was Porchetta with escarole salad (with pine nuts!) - was wonderful. The pork belly was sliced, crackling, very juicy and rich. The roasted potatoes were so good we had a side dish, and for dessert we finished with chocolate mousse. It was light, smooth and creamy, very good. We had red and white sparkling wine which were both very good. And best of all, it was reasonably priced. A definite return visit will be in our future.

   Everything was great - ambience, service and food. Only issue was all the meals were served except for one dis, which came out 15-20 minutes after everything else. We weren’t in a hurry, I wish they had waited and just served everything at the same time.

   The waitress who checked us in was extremely rude who I saw talking about us behind our back as I was leaving the restaurant. Our waiter was nice but the food took so long we didn’t leave the restaurant until 10pm. The pasta was hard, the wine was bad and despite having reservations we were not served properly. The prices are outrageous considering the rude and inconsiderate staff and sad excuse for Italian food.

   A base of pasta. A few simple ingredients, perfectly prepared. Excellent bread to sop up the sauce. A glass or two of good wine. Neighbors running into each other. Everything at very reasonable prices given the quality. Bettola is the perfect San Francisco neighborhood restaurant. Go there.

    Everything about our dinner was fabulous: the food was perfectly prepared, the ambience relaxing and our waiter was attentive and personable. Can’t wait to go back!!
