Nice restaurant but they had a wedding going on the day we visited so it's likely not that noisy
Thank you for reviewing your experience. We're glad to hear you enjoyed it and apologize for the noise from the wedding. We hope to welcome you back again soon.
The food and wine were both excellent, but I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone with food allergies. We informed our server of dairy, wheat and soy allergies, and the plate arrived with a random vegetable substitution that included soy beans (the item normally included green beans, which would have been fine). We informed the sever of the error, and she then brought what was probably the same vegetable mixture with the edamame picked out. She was awkward and avoidant the rest of the meal. We waited forever to get our check, and there was never a check in from a manager or anything. While the meal was otherwise good tasting, we definitely won't be back.
I'm deeply sorry for your experience. Our team takes pride in catering to guests with allergies and they're always willing to make modifications to menu items as needed. I apologize this was not properly handled. Thank you for the compliments on the food and wine, despite your experience. We would be grateful if you would give us another try and I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly. Please contact me at 508-627-3910. Kind regards, Chris Bird General Manager
We thought the food was very good. A bit on the pricey side. The service for this type of restaurant could be better
Thank you for the compliments on our food and for your feedback on the service. We’ve just launched our new fall menus and hope we’ll have a chance to serve you soon.
Great anniversary dinner! They seated us at a nice window table and started our experience with complimentary glasses of champagne. Our server was attentive and enthusiastic about the occasion. Many interesting choices on the menu. Fresh oysters to start. We both opted for lobster. I had the best grilled lobster ever! Moist, fell out of the shell and tasty seasoned with garlic and olive oil. My wife of 37 years had the other option which was expertly battered and tempura fried. We will be back.
Happy anniversary! Thank you for joining us for such a special occasion. Glad to hear you enjoyed two of Chef Patrice’s lobster presentations.
We return to this restaurant every time we visit the Vineyard. Our evening got off to a rocky start, as our waiter seemed a bit inexperienced and our drinks took forever to arrive. We weren’t very bothered by it, but the very attentive hostess noticed us waiting and made sure to get our drinks over, and even comped them to apologize for the long wait. We really appreciated the gesture. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is beautiful, with an amazing view of the lighthouse and beach. Our waiter even did a really incredible magic trick for our children at the end! Truly a lovely restaurant in every way.
Thank you for joining us. We’re glad to hear our hostess was attentive to your dining experience and that you enjoyed the view of Edgartown’s Lighthouse Beach, our food, and the magic trick.
Our first time there. Will def be back. Had the B’s Lobster. Outstanding!!!
Wonderful! The B’s Lobster is one of the most popular entrées this summer. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Good food, but very pricey. Good service at beginning, but disappeared toward the end. Hotel renovation was very well done, however the restaurant has lost its extraordinary Vineyard feel. Overly dark and clubby for a summer spot, but cozy for a winter getaway. Odd choice given the superb harbor and light house views.
We are pleased you enjoyed our food and are sorry to hear the service was not consistently good throughout your dining experience. Thank you for the compliments on our renovation. The nocturnal gray paint on the walls was selected to mimic the color of the harbor and enhance to view. Bettini is open year-round and we’re now serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. We hope to welcome you back again in the future.
The drinks, appetizer and meals were great. The view was truly spectacular with great view of Edgartown harbor from the dining room. The service was attentive but not intrusive. A truly enjoyable experience!
Thank you for the review! We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed your experience dining with us.
I thought the restaurant had great food and service. The views from the porch are beautiful. My wife and I enjoyed our meal, we both had the Black Ink pasta which was unique and tasty. My starter, however, was not served at the proper temp but the Lobster Bisque was good. The room was chilly.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and to let us know you enjoyed the food, service and views. We apologize for the temperature issues you experienced both with your starter and with the room.
Sampled 3 appetizers and 3 mains. For apps, chowder was very good, foie gras good but basic and hamachi, again fresh but basic. For mains, striped bass special was way over cooked and paired poorly, squid ink pasta with seafood was good but store bought pasta, duck confit was the best of the entries, quite good. Cocktails and wines by the glass very expensive but wine list reasonable with good selection.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the food, cocktails, and wine list.
What was not to like? From the moment we arrived and had a drink on the front porch of the Harborview Hotel with incredible views to being seated in a magnificent restaurant where the service food and wines were A+! I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a top notch experience at a surprising affordable price point.
Thank you for the A+! We’re pleased to hear your experience was top notch and appreciate you taking the time to let us know.
We had a wonderful dinner at Bettini. Our food was expertly prepared. One member of our party had an allergy and the chef was very accommodating. Jake, our server was very tuned in and provided excellent service.
Thank you for the lovely review. We take food allergies and dietary restrictions very seriously and are always happy to accommodate. Glad to hear Jake provided excellent service.
Nice place great view of the water and lighthouse.
Thank you! We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
overall experience was good and I would go back. The wait staff was very inexperienced but trying to be attentive
Thank you for sharing. We’re constantly striving to make improvements in our service and are glad to hear you will return.
The food was very good and the prices were quite reasonable for brunch at a very pricey restaurant and the view - if you have a window table - is spectacular. However, the service left a lot to be desired. When we checked in with the hostess, she said “ Whose birthday is it?” ( I had checked that on my Open Table reservation). I told her it was my brother’s. Nothing came of that. I also told her I had requested a window table, yet she takes us to a booth where only one person of the group would have had a view. There was a table for four by a window right there. I asked if we could have that and she said ok. Our waitress was very pleasant and took our orders promptly. Another person came by and asked if we wanted coffee ( we had ordered bubbly) and we said not then, so as he proceeded to pick up the cups, we said we might want some later, but he took them anyway. No one came by to refill water until we were about to leave. Someone did finally ask if we wanted coffee and two of us did. So new cups and saucers were brought. But, the most shocking bit of service was that our waitress brought the check while we were still eating, never having asked if we wanted anything else. Really surprising for a high end restaurant.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry about the service you experienced while joining us to celebrate your brother’s birthday. This is not to our standard of service and would like to invite you back to give us another try for brunch. Please contact our General Manager, Chris Bird directly at 508-627-3910.
Beautiful view, EXCELLENT service by Vlady our waiter. Food was very good but price was high.
Thank you! We’re glad to hear Vlady provided you with excellent service.
We celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary and had a wonderful experience! Service, quality and ambience were all superb! We’ll be back.
Happy anniversary! Thank you for celebrating such an important milestone with us!
Great, front of the house enthusiasm, hit or miss from the back. Stale bread, two fish dishes were woefully bland.Decent wine list which will mostly appeal to CA wine drinkers, the Burg list is fairly pedestrian, but some nice things outside of the NW.
PRICEY. Average food,, preferred the former HV restaurant and ambience . This was more NYC!
We hope you will give us another try. Bettini has just launched an exciting new fall menu and is now serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We had a beautiful table with a great view. Service was prompt in getting us started. We orders foie gras, which only came with two pieces of grilled sourdough so we asked for more. It took about 15 min to get two more pieces. After we finished that, we waited an hour to get our entrees. The entrees themselves were enjoyable, but the sides (mushrooms and spinach) lacked flavor and were luke warm at best. We left happy to have had a nice date night, but over all disappointed.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We recognize the importance of a good date night and are sorry to hear you left feeling disappointed. We would like to invite you back to give us another try. Please contact our General Manager, Chris Bird at 508-627-3910.
The service was spotty---took awhile to get our drinks order in, extra's did not come at the same time as main course, ...
We’re sorry to hear about the service you experienced. We’re continuously working to deliver exceptional service and this is below our standard.
Attitude from the kitchen had us out the door before dessert.
Bettini failed to prepare a $50 filet at a medium well temperature...three times. It arrived twice at medium rare and the third time, the waitress presented it as “well done.” Our twelve year old son had patiently waited for his steak to arrive again and again only to be delivered a final time both charred and inedible. The “take that, I’ll show them!” message sent from the kitchen with the well done fillet made us feel terrible. Steak (especially a $50 fillet that included no sides) should be cooked to the liking of the guest and medium well is not a hard request.
We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. But then literally couldn’t because our waitress was occupied with another table and the manager that we finally flagged to process our check put it down somewhere and forgot about it. We were stuck feeling uncomfortable for an extra twenty minutes.
The front of the house tried very hard. They were polite and wanted to please but were so severely understaffed that they couldn’t manage their tables. It didn’t matter that we liked the dishes that arrived before the fillet, because our lasting impression of the night was a really expensive disaster.
We’re very sorry to hear about your experience dining with us. We would like to make this up to you and invite you back to give us another try. Please contact our General Manager, Chris Bird at 508-627-3910.
Challenging menu that satisfies.
Thank you! We have an incredibly talented Executive Chef and Culinary Team!
Food was great, the service was not good at all. Needed a spoon for soup, knife for steak, and no salt/pepper on the table. Also, needed to pour our own wine and the pre-dinner cocktail didn’t come until after dinner was served. Ladies room not attended to, no TP on ladies room, and no lock on the stall.
Thank you for the compliments on the food. The service you experienced is not to the standard we strive for and we would like to apologize for that.
Over priced, very disappointed in food quality. For what they charge it should have been outstanding.
We are sorry to hear you were disappointed in our food. We’ve just launched a new fall menu and hope you will consider giving us another try.
Beautiful spot, great views of lighthouse and water. Halibut was amazing! Good for dates, family meals, friends getting together!
Thank you for the lovely review. We agree Bettini is great for all gatherings! We hope to see you again soon.
One of the most charming and elegant dinner experiences we’ve ever had ..... it was 10 in every way!!
Thank you for the 10! We’re so pleased you enjoyed your dining experience at Bettini.
Amazing food!! Service was sub-par. Forgot plates and silverware. Took long time to get drinks and other things that were requested. Might have just been our server. Overall great place, just need to be a little more attentive.
Thank you for the compliments on our food. We have an incredible Culinary Team! We apologize the service was not to our standards and appreciate you taking the time to let us know.
Very expensive restaurant with poor service. Too bad because it is well decorated and pretty inside. Some of our food was awful— like the bread you pay for!— but most was fresh and nicely turned out. Hopefully the owners will tweak and get right soon.
Thank you for the compliments on our newly renovated dining room. We are sorry to hear your experience with the food was mixed and that the service was not good. We’ve made many tweaks this first season and are excited to introduce our new fall menu. We hope you will return and give us another try.
I do not think we should pay for bread which was $6. My husband and I split a salad and an $8 food charge was applied to an $ 18 salad
We value feedback from our guests and would like to let you know that we changed our bread program and now offer it complimentary during our dinner service.
Waitstaff is not well trained. Yogurt dip for bread is horrible. Decor is mediocre. I hate the curtains separating the two dining rooms. Looks tacky
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you did not enjoy the yogurt for the bread. We made a change there and are now offering a more traditional bread service with butter.
Bettini is brand new and is trying to make a big statement. Hopefully it will have all the pieces in place by the busy summer rush, so that it gets straight 5’s. . The ingredients are there -- a talented executive chef and wonderfully fresh ingredients from Chilmark's celebrated Grey Barn and Farm. The bibb romaine salad with green beans, heirloom tomatoes, crispy shallot, and French dressing just dazzled. The garden herb and fontina ravioli with mushroom fricassee was delicate, light and fresh. Grey Barn even created a special champagne-washed version of their award-winning Prufrock organic cheese just for Bettini. The renovated dining room with windows on two sides overlooking the iconic Edgartown Lighthouse cannot be beat.
Thank you for the review and for being one of the first to visit when we opened earlier this season. We’ve had a great summer season and have just launched our new fall menus. We hope you will return soon and try some of our new menu items.
Food is not bad but just not worth the price. There are better options available on island at this price and even cheaper. The place looks great after renovations.
Thank you for the compliments on our renovation. We have just launched our new fall menus and are now serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The buffet excelled because of the raw fish bar. I didn’t make it to many other stations, but there was a crepe, egg, hot sliced charcuterie, surf and turf, salad and desert stations. All very good. Pricing was good but how 2 mimosas and a glass of wine was $58 extra surprised me (granted I tip well, but still)
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed our raw bar and buffet. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
Went for the Mother’s Day brunch. The buffet was absolutely gorgeous with some many unique and delicious options - totally exceeding my expectations. The hotel and restaurant renovations are beautiful. Made for a very special day and will definitely be returning!
Thank you for joining us for our first holiday brunch on Mother’s Day! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the renovations and food.
If you have money to burn, this might be for you. Thinking we were going to the restaurant, we found that it was not open and we were seated in the bar area. Dark wood, dark tables, dark chairs, dark lighting, dark everything. The menu is only tapas, small goodies to share. An individual can select six items for a $50 fee but these cannot be shared. The pricing is simply crazy and costly. The wine starts at $14 for a short pour. A house white wine was served at $20. This whole evening was a challenge and totally the opposite of what we expected. We are local folks that will leave this to those who visit our island and do not care what they spend on food. The food was quite good but just working through the darkness and the crazy pricing was enough to make our group decide this was a one time visit. There are other restaurants in town that serve very good food at reasonable prices.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear you were not able to dine with us in Bettini as we opened for dinner service in mid-June. Bettini is now open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner and we’ve just launched our fall menus. We hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back.
