Bestia Ratings and Reviews
Bestia was an interesting experience. I felt that I may have came in with too high of expectations but the ambiance left me feeling slightly exhausted. The close quarters was a little hard to maneuver around as the venue got busier.
Food wise I enjoyed most of our selections. We had the bone marrow, yogurt salad, dungeoness crab pasta and sausage pasta. My personal favorite was the dungeoness crab pasta. Some may complain that the pasta may Be undercooked, but I feel like it’s near perfect for al dente. I really enjoyed the citrus notes that cut the fishyness of the crab. The coveted bone marrow was quite pleasant served on top of a spinach pasta.
For dessert we had the persimmon Pana cotta and the ricotto. We both agreed that the pana cotta was delicious. The ricotto was nothing special it was just a nice ricotto but nothing really stuck out as I had to have to it.
Overall, Bestia was a delicious endeavor.
This place came recommended but I was somewhat disappointed. The food was generally tasty but uneven and a bit overpriced. The seating is a mixed bag - felt like we were jammed in with next tables. Still, the vibe was fun and energetic. I would give it another try.
Traveling alone and was able to put in a reservation last minute. Showed up early and had a wonderful set of cocktails that they invented on the fly. Super impressed with the service and especially the food. Each dish is thoughtfully put together, usually one or two ingredients stand out as a surprise that gives it a little extra. Wine suggestions were on point and the knowledge the somm carries with him is evident. Thank you!!
Bestia always has great service and delicious, flavorful food. The dishes are a bit small, considering they encourage you to share, but the quality is top notch. The only thing I would say is that the music is quite loud, my partner and I always had to repeat ourselves and raise our voices to have a conversation. But overall, this place is a good time.
My European friends visited us in LA so we searched for restaurants with good reviews online. We found Bestia and reserved. It's quite tough finding words right now, as Bestia has been our joke of the week! We honestly don't know how they bought the internet, or if people just have no idea what gastronomy means. Tasteless charcuterie and cocktails, gross soggy pizza with too much dough, super salty pasta (and when it's too salty...) I could care less about the rude waitress and the insanely loud atmosphere (club-level sound). That comes second to food, but hey here it is. The desert menu was uncreative so after our disappointing meal we decided to pass and go elsewhere. We were truly disappointed after bragging about LA's amazing multi-cultural food scene to my foreign friends.
Was recommended by a colleague so I decided to try. Only table I could get was a counter table. Surprisingly it was a good spot to check out all the action. The place was vibrant at 5:30 pm. Service was outstanding and wait staff was very attentive. We had lobster tostini and salad to start and piazza for main course which was very good. The cocktails were also very well done. I would definitely return
Absolutely one of the best meals ever!!!I️ surprised my husband w a flight to La from SF just for 24 hours. We had a blast at Bestia bc of the food, music, ambience and cocktails/wine. The tomahawk pork chop was so bomb and I️m glad we were there on a Monday to get it. Since tickets aren’t that expensive to fly to La I️ will for sure go back just to eat there!!! Good job Bestia!! Our server Harrison was the best and very knowledgeable.
Loved the food and ambiance at Bestia, however, our server wasn't the greatest. It was my birthday and he hardly said happy birthday. He literally just said in the most non-chalant voice "oh happy birthday". That was it. The server was even a UCF grad, and everyone at the table was also a UCF grad so we were trying to make conversation with him, and be like "hey UCF grad!" and connect. He was not the least bit interested in talking with us. Felt like we were more of a nuisance to him. When you are spending good money at a restaurant that you had booked two months in advance, you expect great service. That was definitely not the case in my opinion.
However, the food and ambiance and music was incredible. The host was also very wonderful and sweet which I appreciated.
We had a reservation for 6 at 8:30pm. Showed up early and waited until 9:30pm to be seated. They made a make shift table for us outside on the patio which wasn't ideal. The waiter pushed family style plates on us, but when the plates came out the portions were tiny and barely enough for 2 people. We left leaving hungry and somewhat frustrated at 12:30am!
I was expecting so much more... to loud... uncomfortable seating, cramped.... the pate was tasteless.... pastas were ok,but needed more spices... pretty bland... the meat selection was nice ,but some cheese paring would be nice.... desserts were nice, great service..... thanks
Great service, atmosphere and all the dishes we ordered were amazing! It was my second time visiting and both times I was so satisfied with food & services as well :) Higly recommended! (Favorite dishes: Grilled octopus and calamari, bone marrow, lamb neck)
Bestia is perfection. Our table was ready and waiting when we arrived. All of the staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Our server helped us choose the right amount of entrees/apps for the 6 of us, aware of our tastes, making great suggestions. Everything was delicious. The Bone Marrow is amazing! Best we've ever had. All of the food is fresh, unique and just plain delicious. The little gems salad and the citrus yogurt salad were full of amazing flavors...more than you'd expect from salad. The venue is also great. It's not a quiet place, but I'm not young any more, and I could still hear everyone at our table. I love the brick. We were inside at a high top table, but either inside or outside would be a great place for a group of friends or a date night. Highly recommend Bestia.
I had an excellent time at Bestia. Our waitress and sommelier were excellent and had perfect suggestions. We tried the veal tartare and the amazing mussels for starters. The mussels are fantastic and our waitress was right...all you want to do is mop up the sauce with bread. I would highly recommend the pork chop as an entree to share as that was fantastic - she let us know they also have a smaller portion than what is on the menu and that was perfect for just two. We finished it off with some amaro and panna cotta. It was probably one of the highest quality dessert dishes I’ve tasted in a while. Highly impressed and I would recommend it although keep in mind it’s noisy if it is a special occasion.
Bestia never disappoints. Have been here a couple of times and the food is just as good as I remember it every time. This time around we had a persimmon and panchetta salad which was good, the lamb neck which was cooked perfectly to fall off bone-ness. But the highlight, as always, is the pasta. We had the lamb pasta and it was amazing. The noodles themselves are just made and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended!
Had a bit of a service break on Saturday night. Apparently, tickets weren't printing in the kitchen and several of our appetizers never materialized. Long breaks between food, our server was awol most of the evening and we eventually had to flag someone down to find out what was going on. Bestia is one of my favorite restaurants and this was an unusual occurrence. Once staff was informed, they did their best to make up for the issues we identified. I've made a return reservation in late January with the same group that was with me on Saturday because I want to exorcise this last visit from our collective memory.
