Bestia is one of my favorite restaurants. The place is so chic, cool, and most of all tasty. We always eat one of the pizzas, a pasta (bc they don’t give you a super large portion) and then a salad or antipaste. Then we had 3 drinks total and a dessert. Paid $115 so not bad for the quality of food you will receive. The servers are knowledgeable, the food is high quality, tasty, and will leave you wanting more.
You must eat the Farro salad!!! All of their pizzas are beyond fantastic. And ALL OF THE PASTAS are amazing amazing amazing.

Have been in love with Bestia since I first went. The only thing that's changed about it is the menu, which is no problem as it's seasonal anyway and keeps every dining experience fresh every time. My friends and I had a blast, drank some very interesting wine, and had a good laugh over some amazing food. Get the bone marrow to start.

The cocktails were well-balanced and delish. They were strong enough but still had flavor. The manzanita was my favorite.
The service I would rate highly. The bartender (we arrived a bit ahead of our reservation so we grabbed a drink) and waitress was very knowledgable and able to make educated recommendations. The speed of the service and amount of times we were checked up on was perfect. The kept our drinks filled, changing plates/silverware efficiently and kept our areas cleaned without disrupting our conversation.
The food was hit or miss but when it was a hit it was really delish and I would definitely order them again. The misses were okay but when you compared to the better dishes they lacked a bit. To start we ordered the mussels and clams, it did have a spicy kick but not overwhelming to disguise the other flavors. The cauliflower was okay nothing amazing. The two pasta dishes we ordered was the tortellini di mortadella which the pasta was cooked well but the dish overall was salty and mediocre. I feel like if there were mushroom and a little more sauce it could really take that dish to the next level. It definitely had potential and a few changes could make it breakout. The second pasta I absolutely recommend - which was the cavatelli alla norcina. Everything about this dish pleased my palate. The dumplings were cooked perfectly, the sausage had the right seasoning and the black truffles were well balanced and didn't overwhelm the dish as each element was able to shine through on their own and provide its distinct flavor that all complemented one another.
Overall a great experience !

Love Bestia. Been there many times. Just had a weird experience with our server who was too forceful on our expanding our palates to NOT order the margherita pizza AND pasta pomodoro because the flavor profiles were so similar. The issue is we had 3 people at the table who don't eat pork/shellfish. Not a problem - we know they don't accommodate. It limits offerings a bit, but PLENTY to choose from and always delicious. She just would NOT let up and it got awkward and uncomfortable at the table when we kept having to say, "REALLY, we're good with the margherita....". I'm a chef myself and own a food business so I get they want to represent their food well....but 4 adults are pretty highly qualified to pick their food. Was really aggressive and odd. We just weren't being heard.

Got a table after hearing all about the hype, and Bestia definitely met the hype! The pasta was imaginative and delicious and rich without being heavy. The bone marrow appetizer with the spinach pasta was so delicious that we had to order it again ... for dessert! Service was smooth and friendly, and the wine recommendation (Greek wine) was tart and perfect with the creamy pastas we chose. Wonderful experience, we'll be sure to be back again!

Bestia is the most hyped up restaurant in LA right now, and for good reason. I would say it wasn't my absolute favorite dining experience ever. The food was great, service was good, ambience was cool, but nothing over the top extraordinary. I think Republique is still better. Can't beat it

The pasta dishes are way too small for the price, it’s not even sharing size but all plates here are meant to be shared. Porterhouse perfectly cooked perfectly seasoned. Fresh arugula salad is a perfect pairing. Roasted cauliflower delish would have loved more here it’s a veggie load it up.

Always a favorite it did not disappoint. We had our usuals - chopped salad, bone marrow, burrata pizza -and the cavatelli, topped off with a great bottle of Hungarian wine recommended by the sommelier. Persimmon rice pudding for dessert. It was perfection.

The food was exceptional. Our waitress Jenny was very professional, and excellent service. However, the noise level of the restaurant is not suitable for anyone over 40. Good place to take guests you do not like or want to converse with.

We dined on:
Genevieve's Little Gems. walnut vinaigrette. ricotta salata. soft herbs. radish. shallots.
Casarecce al Pomodoro. twisted semolina pasta. tomato sugo. housemade buttermilk ricotta. basil oil
Cavatelli alla Norcina. ricotta dumplings. housemade pork sausage. black truffles. grana padano
Grilled Whole Branzino. pea tendrils. fried herbs. grilled lemon
Bar au Chocolat Bittersweet Chocolate Budino Tart. salted caramel. cacao crust. olive oil. sea salt

The food was exceptional. It was a happening LA scene and we spotted a movie star: Ron Perlman!

Amazing food, great service (both our server and the sommelier gave us great advice).
The restaurant was very crowded (as usual apparently) therefore the noise level was a bit high if you wanna have an intimate or quiet diner.
Nevertheless, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our first time at Bestia. We'll definitely go back.

This was my 5th visit to Bestia over last 12 months. The menu is interesting and somewhat creative for first timers but has not changed much. This is a very hip restaurant in the Toy/Arts District of Los Angeles. They do have a substantial off menu wine selection. Service is pleasant. Noise level is loud and the tables are crammed.

Bestia is a beautiful space, but the service and food both leave a bit to be desired. It seems to get by on a reputation fueled by too-cool-for-school scenesters who don't mind spending considerable dollars on food and drinks that they barely touch, just so that they can say (and instagram) that they were there. I'm not sure why getting a reservation is such a big deal; I saw several available tables, at least on the patio, which offers enough ambience to make me think that their reservation scarcity is a bit contrived. Overall, there are plenty of other options with better food nearby, but I'm glad I got to check Bestia off the list. With such undeserved hype, I have a feeling it will remain off the list, as I will probably not be going back.

Although the food was good, portions were very tiny in relation to the price and you can't charge that in this loud and uncomfortable setting. We were recently at Osteria Mozza where dining is an EXPERIENCE. There was complimentary bread, complimentary appetizers courtesy of the chef. Not to mention that we went for a birthday to OM and were given champagne on the house.
We went to Bestia for our anniversary and other than a candle (?) on the dessert, and a couple of "happy anniversary!" shout outs, there was nothing.
I think it's overrated and the type of place that is full due to word of mouth. I doubt people find it SO good, I think they don't want to admit it's actually mediocre once they are there.

This place contrinues to be outstanding. It was when it opened and it remains so. The variety of flavors and the excellent preparation are unique in the city. You crave a steak? a branzino? Pasta? Pizza? Salads? Everything!
Order anything and you will not be disappointed. Branch out-this is the place to try new foods and flavors.
The som is superior and the wine list well selected and not the usual offerings. Note the tall German wine carafes. Great style!
The wait staff is professional. They know how to pace your order so follow their advice and order all your courses at one time (except for dessert). You will receive them in good order.
Enjoy!

It only took one trip to Bestia to blow me away! Parking was easy since there's not only valet, but also plenty of street parking. We got a last minute reservation and were seated on the patio right away. It's nice out there because it's slightly quieter...but as it go later, it definitely got louder! The service was great. Our server was super helpful and attentive. Food was AMAZING! The chicken liver pate was to die for! I was also really impressed with the bone marrow pasta dish! Their bone marrow was one of the best I've had. Loved that they paired the al dente spinach gnochetti with it too! The Spaghetti Rustichella was delicious! I loved how much crab they put! Everything was so flavorful! I will definitely be coming back!

One of the best places in LA to dine but one of the most difficult reservations to score. The food is out of this world but the portions seem to favor the smaller size.

Overall the experience was good. My only complain is that our server was rude and intentionally didn’t bring a surprise birthday cake to the table.
I called the restaurant in advance to let them know that we were celebrating my husbands birthday, they confirmed they knew. Once our friends and us were sitting, I called the server, showed him who my husband was and asked if they could do something special, he said that of course.
When it was time for dessert, no one ordered anything since we had eaten so much. So as soon as our server picked up the dessert menus he threw the bill on the table and left. So rude.
I friend who knew that I had asked for a b-day cake had to pretend something was wrong with the bill, went back and talked to him and a couple of minutes later we had our bday cake on the table. Making everyone very uncomfortable.
I will recommend the restaurant but not for aoecial ocassions as they did everything except make us feel special and taken care of.

I had heard of Bestia for a while so I was curious. After waiting 11/2 months for my reservation I finally went. I'll be honest, I wasn't impressed at all by the food. I'm vegetarian, there were two pasta options (including the chef's off the menu option). They don't allow for any changes or substitutions which I think is so passe. And it was expensive, which I expected. But it wasn't worth it. You get a much better meal at Baldi's, the son's or the father's. At much higher end places such as The Royce, aren't so uppity about making a change to a dish to make it vegetarian. Probably the last time I'll be going there.
