Amazing food..AMAZING SERVICE..BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT! Definitely will be back :)
Still hands down the best restaurant in LA!
What a Disappointment.
Someone Please explain the hype about this restaurant. I just DON'T GET IT !
Pastas were barely just ok and ridiculously small portions. Even the waiter warned us about the portion of the pasta. At $21, $28 who expect to get a decent portion. Ok so when the portion is small the taste should be fantastic right? Wrong. Absolutely nothing special or great. Same with the pizzas. Spent $240 for 4 , no alcohol and the experience was completely NOT WORTH IT.
The hype took me to the middle of nowhere and we all left confused. Still am.
Delicious food, great service. Will definitely be returning!
Great food, service and experience. Definitely will be coming back again!
Love the food, but the noise level is way too loud for any decent conversation. Can be very annoying.
From the food to the service to the interior design...I can’t wait to go again!
Great quality of food. Portions and pricing could be more fair, but the meal itself was great. Poor and limited selections for wines just by the glass. Very energetic and trendy environment. Good ambience but very loud to be considered intimate. Some of the waitstaff were very friendly while others were impatient. Overall the food was great, and I would recommend the cuisine for friends but that was the only real shining aspect.
Bestia does not lack consistency. Every time we dine here we have amazing food and outstanding service. Each and every pasta dish was unique and equally satisfying. We enjoyed the pasta so much that we skipped desert and ordered a 4th dish. As always, Bestia left us full and happy.
I used to love Bestia. It was our Go To hot spot for visiting friends and special occasions. However, our last visits have really gone downhill. Each dish has been just ok. No new dishes and no wow factor. On this last visit, we spend about $400 between food and drinks for 3 of us. More if you count parking haha. It was definitely not worth the price tag. Sad, because I used to LOVE it and I'm not sure I would recommend it anymore. The hostesses have also always been super rude but that's typical I suppose. Bring back the old Bestia!
I took my Twins for their 19th Birthday & it was worth it. For appetizers we had Squid, chicken pate, & pork belly( l recommend all) agnolotti & cavatelle, & the bone in aged steak. The steak was done right! Definitely going back!
The food was delicious and inventive, the service was fantastic and the wine list was varied and well matched with the food. We had a fantastic experience celebrating our new jobs and I will
certainly be going again, though likely for a special occasion again since the menu is on the pricier side, but totally worth it. If I earned twice as much I would be eating here often!
Extremely popular...very energetic. Loved the options. Everything tasted pretty good.
We had an amazing dinner thanks to everyone from the hostess to our waiter. Service was great. The food was amazing. You can really tell the amount of time ans detail put into every dish. Snag a counter spot and watch them prepare food in front of you!
Good. Dessert was disappointing.
Darla our server was so awesome! Made great recommendations and made my friends birthday a fabulous dining experience! We look forward to going back and definitely recommend dining here! Loved the agnolotti and the coffee and donuts for dessert!
We came from Brooklyn to try this place!Amazing experience. The food and service were phenomenal. Every dish was different and mind blowing in its own way. Make a reservation, we went on a Monday and it was super busy! The wine rep made us feel so special pairing different glasses with each course! Thank you Bestia. We will be back soon :)
Everything was great except the music that was soo loud. We were seated outdoor which was a bit quieter but indoors the sound level was just unbearable.
Always great consistent and delicious food. Food is cooked well and is of high quality and always fresh. Service is outstanding, ambiance is casual and hip, energetic and fun. Great experience!
Poor service. Overpriced food and small portions. All hype and not much in delivery. Too noisy. Had to wait ten minutes to be greeted. Music was awful hip hop. Had to ask where our drinks were after 15 minutes. Spent 200 bucks on a pizza shop dining experience. I’ll never go back.
It was very enjoyable
Bestia is the gold star for Italian in LA. Great food and ambiance, but very loud!
We were late to our reservation but they held our table, which was incredibly nice. The food was good - intricate flavor pairings and great textures. We ordered the Lobster Crostino and Roasted Marrow Bone pasta, both were small in portion but had great tastes.
Bestie was worth the wait. Food was delicious. Lots and f innovative options. Wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive. Pizza leftovers great even next day. Mussels plump and tende. Chocolate dessert a stand out. Only dish in need of tweaking was spaghetti with Dungeness crab which was only room temperature. Would definitely return!
Amazing place. A must try.
Everyone was so sweet and attentive. We mentioned it was my best friends birthday and they brought her dessert with a candle . It was adorable . The food was amazing. Wishing we had more room to keep eating. Overall it’s always great when I come to bestia . Definitely will keep bringing my friends here
Our server Melanie was a bit odd. She seemed like she wasn't happy with our choices in the menu and kept suggesting to order something else. I had specific dishes I had in mind to order and she suggested other dishes instead. This made me kind of annoyed. We told her we wanted to start with the roasted marrow bone and cavatelli and she said "Just to make sure you guys are here for dinner dinner right?" That kind of question seemed a little rude.
This was my second time being here and my wife's first time. We love the food and the people. We arrived when it opened up and the vibe was so cool and loved the enthusiasm.
We were seated a little later than our reservation time. The food was ok but not worth the hype.
I was so excited to try this place and after weeks of waiting and making an appointment, I finally had a chance this past weekend. I was so thoroughly disappointed and I honestly believe this place might be the most overrated restaurant in LA. The place is packed to the brim and you have to wait even if you make an appointment and check in on time. The area to wait for your booked tables is not a very large area and you are basically stuck dodging impatient waiters and diners trying their hardest to eat the bar. When we finally get seated, we had the tiniest table sitting almost right next to the next table. All that would have been forgiven if the food was exceptional, unfortunately this was not the case. The waitress D seemed stressed and unhappy to be there tbh. She recommended 2-3 items per person to share which we honestly thought was too much for 2 people. When we ordered 2 items she seemed visibly annoyed and proceeded to pay no attention to us after that. On top of this, the noise level was so loud, the waitress D mis-heard our order and brought us the wrong item. We were brought the right item at no cost thankfully but both pasta items were underwhelming and doughy. After having truly exceptional italian food in NYC, chicago and even in other parts of LA, I was sorely disappointed. We didn't even want to take the leftovers home. The only saving grace of this meal was the lobster crostini. Even the cocktails were like mini-cocktails - was not sure why since they charged as much every other bar in the area and are half the size. I will definitely not be going to this spot again.
Great food for a great price. The drinks were well made. The waitresses didn’t offer much information about the menu but thankfully the busser Juan was very knowledgeable of the food and offer a more authentic, friendly and comfortable experience. Overall I recommend this place and I can’t wait to try more dishes on the menu.
I think my first pre-9:30PM meal at Bestia was one of my best. Pastas are still to die and kill for. Love this place.
Loved the service. Our waiter Jason was the best! He gave excellent recommendations and quick service. We were even able to change our table without much hassle!
Food: The lobster crostino was delish. The bone marrow a tad disappointing. The steak and oxtail pasta were divine. The chocolate tart was a bit too bitter for my taste.
Will definitely come back soon!
Every once in a while you come across a place that makes you forget that you have to eat 3 times a day and Bestia is one of those places.
This is my review after 3 visits. We went on a Tuesday night at 5:30 pm. Yes, it’s true that they accept reservations 60 days in advance.
The place itself is kind of small and can feel cramped but they do an amazing job of working as a team to be attentive. Our water glasses were never empty. We had an amazing server who was actually new (but you’d never notice) that seemed knowledgeable about the menu, alcohol list and gave us confidence that he could make good recommendations.
The food is an experience in of itself. Be open to trying things you might not otherwise. Favorites included: bone marrow under the appetizer menu and the oxtail and saffron pasta dish. Everything was fantastic, though!
The value is actually quite fair; it’s about 100$ for two appetizers, two pastas and a dessert (average prices). If you had 4 shots of their finest liquor and a cocktail, it can add up, though! It was worth it, since they’re the only place that has the jewel of Russia ultra (a bottle I can’t find anywhere for purchase) that I’m aware of.
We will definitely be coming back in the future - this place never disappoints!
A big dissapointment.
All started with the lovely hostess asking her colleague "Could you please take these two to table #?" (Is that seriously how the staff refers to the costumers?) After that, the service at the table improved and was helpful.
From the kitchen:
- Lobster Crostino: Good
- Roasted Marrow Bone: Flavour was plain, nothing remarkable
- Farro Salad: Flavour was really plain, texture was decent
- Ox tail Agniolotti: Poor animal did not deserve to die for such mistreatment of its meat
- Pink Lady Apple Crostata: Meh... nothing absolutely special.
The food is standard (at best). In my opinion does not compete with other top quality restaurants in LA or other cities.
Service is as the experience over rated, pretentious and mediocre overall.
Amazing food, great atmosphere. the staff was very helpful and welcoming.
Your food was fabulous and the servers were excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone.
The food was, and always is, fantastic. The only issue was that they were out, or no longer carried, a few of the items that we were looking forward to. Other than that, everything else that we tried was great. Service was also excellent.
Another issue was that the valet seemed somewhat lazy. The valet did not retrieve our vehicle for us, but instead gave us the keys for us to walk to our parked car. I understand having to pay $8 for parking, but I wouldn't really consider it a full-on valet service.
Everything was really good. Our waitress was super informative and never rushed us. Went through the menu with us and asked about any allergies. I would definitely come back. Next time I would like to be seated inside.
