What Insiders Are Saying
For Italian in Los Angeles, it doesn't get any better than the Arts District's Bestia, This isn't dinner, it's an experience.
Every dish was a unique culinary experience, so much so that after eating 6 dishes we felt like we had been eating for hours when in reality it was only 1. We got the Salumi board, Genevieve's salad, Calamari, pork pizza, gnocchi, and agnolotti. Every dish was delicious with our favorites being the calamari, and gnocchi. For dessert we got the Maple fritters, and coffee. Our waiter was amazing as well and helped welcome the first timers and guide us through the menu. Loved it will be back.
Loved every dish
We were able to get a patio table at 6pm on a Tuesday. Food was great, the alla ‘nduja pizza, spaghetti rustichella and Meyer lemon tart were all delicious. Service was impeccable, and the ambiance nice if more casual than I expected. Overall great experience. None of the dishes blew my mind but I think we also played it safe with our choices. Nice place for a date or dinner with friends, parking on the street was a breeze at that time of day. Just wish it wasn’t so impossible to get reservations here!
Stunningly delicious food! We especially loved the starters, pizza and the branzino we had for our main course. Desserts were also amazing!
It was a birthday dinner! We had the chicken liver on toast, kohlrabi and apple salad (with Persian cucumber) and charred broccoli as antipasti. We also had the Trofe all’Amatriciana and the cavatelli alla Norcina. For dessert we had the Butterscotch coconut tart with fresh coconut sorbet.
Everything was amazing!
Second time there and the place did not failed me and my friends. Food is incredibly good as always.
Amazing food, staff and location. I had a salad, pasta and pizza. Can’t forget about the cocktails and dessert.
Muy bueno y no muy caro. Tiene muy buena comida y la calidad es espectacular.
Great vibes, delicious drinks and food. Excellent service from Yunia ! Would definitely go back.
The hostess was rude but the manager (don’t recall her name) was extremely accommodating and beyond exceptional. She redefined what customer service should truly be...
Amazing food and service. Deserves that Michelin Star when the guide comes back.
The food was fine. I recommend the gizzards and beef tartar. I personally think Osteria Mozza is a little bit better. The only thing negative was that the experience felt rushed. We were in and out in an hour and fifteen. I’m sure they needed to make more room given the long line. Maybe I was expecting more given the hype. It was good, but not the best Italian in LA.
It’s a great restaurant to go to appreciate the art of cooking. Tasty dishes in small portions. Great, healthy portions. Not meant to fill you up but rather make you appreciate what we as humans can create with our taste and cooking skills.
Sadly this place didn’t live up to the hype I’ve heard over the years.
Not many vegetarian options or permitted modifications allowed to accommodate a vegetarian diet.
Gorgonzola pizza came out a bit burned so it tasted mostly of burnt kale.
Amazing clams and mussels, and the pork was to die for.
Service was a little slower than I expected but it was a busy service so no big deal.
I always love bestia but took a gluten free friend here who requested a simple accommodation (side of cucumbers other than bread) to enjoy pate with and the kitchen wouldn’t accommodate. Disappointing given prevalence of gluten allergies and price of pate dish.
Every single dish was delicious, no complaints! Service was quick and helpful with any questions. Would definitely come back again.
Wonderful service and food!
Best in LA!... the food, flavors and feel and best in class... should be in Vegas too!...
i always love going to bestia i always have a great time vibes are always great and food is always amazing !
Unbelievable experience at Bestia. Food and service are out of this world. Highly recommend visiting with a party of 4-6, so you can order multiple dishes and enjoy the meal family style. I am still dreaming about the lamb neck with anchovy creme fraiche.
I LOVE BESTIA!!! It’s where my fiancé took me on our first date & we’ve been regulars since. We recently got engaged at Bestia! & we come from Orange County just to have dinner. Rachel, the hostess is always very welcoming and helpful during every visit! Thank you Bestia Team, we appreciate your amazing food & customer services. -Monique
Although Bestia has high ratings (which drew me to the restaurant), my expectations were not met.
The quality of the food is not worth the price!
It’s definitely not just dining but also an exceptional dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious but the manner in which the food is served is what makes this restaurant special. All dishes are meant to be shared and the restaurant decides the order in which food is served. It’s a tasting experience that is positively unsurpassed. A definite winner!
Quite disappointing. The food is average at best. Beef tartare was bland and mediocre, calamari didn’t taste right and had a weird texture. Radicchio salad was bland as well. Burrata pizza was highly recommended; however, wasn’t anything special.
We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was exquisite and the service excellent. The appetizer with the octopus was really amazing. We will be back for sure.
Fantastic! Everything was uniquely creative and delicious. Excellent service.
Absolutely LOVE Bestia! Our server, Drew, was so lovely al- he really made the experience that much better and gave wonderful recommendations!! Must visit. And you MUST order the bone marrow when you do. Love this place and will always come back.
The bone marrow and the mussels & clams were delicious. I also loved the panna cotta. My friend liked the coconut tart. Cocktails and the three pasta dishes we had were just okay. Here is the pasta dishes we had: Pici al Sugo di Agnello (pasta with lamb), Spaghetti Rustichella (spaghetti with Dungeness crab), and a pasta dish with bacon, tomato sauce, and basil (this was the best among the three). It was very noisy inside the restaurant. Service was excellent.
it's absolutely perfect. Food is always so consistent and outstanding.
We visited Bestia for a business meeting and had high hopes because of the reviews we had read, but Bestia failed to impress. The place was too noisy to carry on a good conversation, our server was condescending and let us know if we ordered something she didn't think paired well or if we asked to leave an ingredient out in a dish, and the food was generally bland. The highlight was the 32 ounce Bone in Ribeye that three of us shared. It was cooked to perfection and had a tasty glaze on it. The pastas were bland and uninspiring and the margarita pizza had too much sauce and barely any mozzarella. Oddly enough, they don't even cut the pizza so you're left trying to get a steak knife to cut it without tearing it apart. The bill, at more than $400 for three guests was over the top expensive compared to other restaurants. We would have been happy to pay that much for a memorable meal, but this was not. So many better restaurants in LA. We won't be back.
Since it is very hard to make reservation restaurant and had to reserve one month ahead for the date & the time I wanted. It is def. worth to try place but not sure if it is worth to wait a month. Still food was very interesting and tasty. Most of dishes were like appetizer portion (except pizza) so had to order 4 dishes for two people but pretty satisfied.
The food way overpriced and just average (that's a problem). Neh not come back.
The Food is Too SALTY !!
Good service and a variety of excellent dishes.
Great atmosphere, amazing food and Excellent staff
Arrived early, but seated right away. Service was awesome and the dishes we ordered were equally fantastic. We will definitely come back. For those of you that are still contemplating to go to Bestia, I definitely recommend you to try. Absolutely worth spending your time and money. Many thanks again to all Bestia's great staff.
We had a 930 reservation, got seated at 10. When we sat and ordered 2 of the main courses ran out that we were ordering. Had we sat at 930 we would have been able to order those dishes. Their host a young lady at the check in was terrible. She said 5-10, when we arrived, then called 4 other couples who came in after us. When I complained I felt she was rude, insulting as i was complaining why i made a 930, to be sat at 10. She sent over the manager who fixed the situation apologized and sat us promptly and was excellent. Saved the day as I might have never come back tbh. Must say the food was way better first 2 times we came. The deserts were fantastic and 3-5 dishes were very good. 2 were average. We wanted to try something we have not tried and both those dishes ran out. Anyway first 2 times were great this time average in comparison. Hope they are not on the decline already
The food quality is good, and servers are good, except it is too noisy/loud inside.
