Bustling restaurant, great food and service
It takes forever to get a reservation; once you have one you have to wait forever to get seated; and while you're waiting to get seated you have to wait forever to get a drink at the bar. Moreover, the place is so ridiculously loud and the service is just a notch above dutiful. But somehow the vibe feels inviting rather than irritating, and man oh man! the food is just beyond! Every single thing we ate! I'd go through it all again tomorrow and the next day and the next, if only I could get a reservation.
Wonderful staff, very good food, but way too loud with throbbing music and lots of people in one room shouting to be heard
The food is always outstanding with the marrow bone an absolute treat. We always wait a long, long time to get a reservation. This time, the service was particularly slow and waiting a too long to receive our food. Also, the beverages did not come in a timely manner--I got my drink almost 3/4 done with my meal. When I asked for it, which of course I shouldn't have to, there was some kind of " made up" answer. We don't expect this of Bestia.
Spent an amazing birthday night with great food! Recommend!
Bestia has some unbelievably tasty fare. Really--it's hard to come down from this. That said, even with reservations, the seating process was graceless and chaotic. The venue is extremely loud, making conversation with your party almost impossible. And while the food is reasonably priced considering its extraordinary quality, the wine list doesn't provide options for those who aren't among the 1%.
Everything was phenomenal. The food was incredible but the service was spectacular. The entire experience was fantastic.
Everything is good. Some items are great. My personal opinion is that the appetizers way outperform the entrees. And listen. Olives, grilled bread and tomato salads are nice, but it’s like watching a good trailer. If the actual movie isn’t good, then the trailer being good doesn’t matter that much.
Great food, great service, and amazing cocktails. Had a lot of fun there. Sat by the open kitchen and enjoyed watching the team do their thing!
A typical energetic (loud) hip LA restaurant. The service was amazing and our waitress made great recommendations. The only disappointing thing to us was the food. Was it good? Yes. Was it great? No. We had a great time but for the price I wanted the food to be better than it really was.
Our table was just next to the kitchen, so we where able to experience the extreme organization awesome communication they have to make magic happen!
Cant wait to come back soon!!
Almost forgot... desserts are to DIE also 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
MELANIE IS THE BEST EVERRRRRR so good I came back two days in a row
It was awesome. Dishes were good, The Ambiance was nice. I highly recommend to order Marrow Bone!! but Amount of each dishes was quite small. That's it. I really want to go again If I have a chance
Ambiance and service are excellent. The staff came around and cleared the plates like clockwork. The party I attended with were split on the different dishes we tried —
Tomato Salad: 5/5
Bone Marrow: 4/5
Squid Ink Salad: 5/5
Margarita Pizza: 4/5
Lobster Pasta: 5/5 (everyone’s fave!)
Rigatoni Pasta: 3/5 (too spicy for most of us)
Lamb Neck: 5/5 taste; 2/5 gastric effect (this unfortunately upset someone’s stomach)
All of the desserts were amazing. Worth trying at least once. Would I go back? Probably only for an event/party, especially because my feeling of putting the cost of employees’ health insurance on a customer just leaves a bad taste.
Awesome place. Everything was great, and the service was attentive and helpful.
Best ambience and FOOD at Bestia. I have never tasted any Italian food like this! I can't wait to go back an try their desserts. We were so full that did not have space for dessert.
Arrived 30 before reservation and was told that we’d be seated closer to our reservation time (10:30p). Was seated past 11. Food was mediocre.
The most overrated, overpriced meal.
The portions were tiny for the price. Which I wouldn’t mind if it tasted good.
The food is too oily and extremely salty. The quality does not reflect the price.
We both left feeling very ill.
This place is all hype for no reason.
Would not recommend.
The wait staff is absolutely amazing and very attentive to our needs.
Amazing in all the lines (black cod, rigatoni, pork)
We came from UK for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and had booked this weeks in advance and were still only given a table in a courtyard overlooking a warehouse wall. My wife was told there was no cheese in her dish yet it was mega cheesy. The positives were our waiter was super helpful and the food was very good.
I was so excited to finally get a reservation here, only to feel as though the restaurant was “fine,” and no more than that. Very loud and smelly from the open kitchen. (Have To have my clothes dry cleaned.” The shishito peppers, pizza and pasta were quite average. The dessert was a real highlight. The waiter was friendly but once our order was taken, we never saw him.
always a delicious meal at Bestia! allways perfect.
Phenomenal overall experience. Only constructive criticism would be to better facilitate waiting for a table (bar get some crowded and there isn’t anywhere to properly wait).
Design, decor, food, drink, service are all gold standards for LA.
Sat at a small table by windows to outside patio. Noisy, active dining room. Took a while for waiter to approach table. Dishes came out too quickly, serving utensils not included. Wines extremely over priced. Food was good but, over ra
The mussels and clams were extremely small and not good quality. The pizza was tasteless. The pastas were good, especially the pasta in the amatriciano and the gnocchi. A simple salad was the hit of the evening. On the positive side, we ate 5 dishes and were ready to go in just under an hour. Guess that’s good for them as they can move people through faster. Totally don’t get the fuss . Don’t buy into the hype and wait a month to get in on a Tuesday night. There are better Italian restaurants in LA.
I come to Bestia anytime Im in the Los Angeles area. Why? Bc the food is just THAT good and the service is always on point
I love Bestia’s food but when we arrived we tried to order drinks at the bar. The bar had 4 open seats, so it wasn’t full. We didn’t try to sit, we just tried to get one of the servers attention. They totally ignored us for five minutes despite several Excuse me and hello call outs. They talked to people seated next to me and to someone else at the end of the bar. I understand they are busy but an acknowledgment would have been really appreciated. We ended up with drinks at our table. Our waiter was very nice but they missed a dish we ordered.
Over priced. If you want bread, they charge $6 for four slices.
Bestia is very loud and lively in a way you want it to be. It is a hot spot with professional people enjoying themselves. The food is eclectic the best way, not fancy or contrived to be unique and then just ending up being too rich or salty. I absolutely recommend this restaurant for anyone with an appetite that is with people they are close to and want to have spirited conversation. First dates may have a little cool factor, but tough to be intimate or get to know each other.
We dine out every night and do not mind paying more for quality. The food was good not great, nor reflective of the prices. I don’t get the hoopla over this restaurant. We will not be going back. Mozza and North both provide a much better dining experience at a fair price. Lastly these owners add a 4% wellness fee for their employees which Is fine had they not already over charged for average food.
Very good food overall except the desserts which were all pretty blah...
Had a memorable birthday dinner here! The food was outstanding. Really liked the crostino and bone marrow although every dish was amazing.
One of the best restaurants I have ever been
Definitely became one of our new LA favorites! Food was delicious, recommend going with people who like to share, because you will want to taste everything. We especially liked the tomato salad, the mussels and clams (save the broth/sauce to dip your pizza crust in), the pizza and the chocolate dessert. Service was amazing and their sommelier was incredibly nice and knowledgeable.
I love when a restaurant lives up to the hype, and Bestia sure does! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was exciting. It was very very busy, but we had a reservation so they sat us right away. Our server explained the menu to us and helped us plan out the courses for our meal. She was a little pushy, for example she tried to up-sell us on a sherry shooter for the bone marrow we ordered. It was a little strange, but she was pleasant for the most part. The food was truly incredible and some of the best pasta I have ever had. Save room for dessert, because with a dedicated pastry chef their desserts are definitely worth a try!
Everything was great. We had an amazing foodie experience for our wedding anniversary. Small plates to share but we’re just enough. I would definitely go back just for the chicken lover pate. We were very pleased with the bone in rib-eye, it was cooked a perfect medium rare (the only way they cook it) and the flavor was delicious. The service was great, I forgot our servers name but she had great recommendations, as it was our first time dining there, and we were not disappointed.
Bestia was absolutely incredible. I made a reservation at 10:45 at night, 15 minutes until last call and the food was still amazing. I’ve been to so many places where that’s not the case, so I was really impressed. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Me and my family ordered four different ones and we had no complaints about either. And the service was great too, my glass never went empty. I’m from New York, but I’d definitely be here again.
