What Insiders Are Saying
For Italian in Los Angeles, it doesn't get any better than the Arts District's Bestia, This isn't dinner, it's an experience.
Overall food and vibe was great. Delicious Italian with amazing flavors and well prepared. Unfortunately, one in our group has food allergies and our server was unapologetically nonchalant about the policy of inability to alter even simple dishes.
the food is absolutely amazing. You will be impressed with everything on the menu. The staff is phenomenal and helpful and friendly. Great place to eat. But plan ahead it's reservation only and they're booked far out.
Amazing food and excellent service
Overpriced for mediocre food - don't know why it's so hard to get resy's or why it's so busy. Majordomo, Dama, Manuela all are much better and inventive.
The food didn’t live up to the hype — reservations were very difficult to get. The worst part of the experience was the outrageously uncomfortable seats. They were hard, small and made us want to leave after 1/2 hour. I imagine that they were designed to discourage lingering, as many trendy new restaurants are doing. Success on that. We won’t be back
Bestia is the best. Always has been and always will be.
Bestia does not disappoint on any level. It's quite noisy, but all restaurants with ceilings open to the rafters and concrete floors, are really noisy these days. Everything we ordered, even the little gem salad which looked like the only boring thing on the menu was so good! We had the muscles and clams to share, very spicy, but my husband loved it. Then the agnolliti and the lamb's neck, which was so tender and flavorful we were both swooning. Our server and the bus staff were so friendly, helpful, and all seemed engaged with their customers. Not a stuffy bone in their bodies. It is rare to feel so welcome in a hot spot in LA, but we did, and it made the night extra special for us. I highly recommend it.
Great food, service and ambiance. Decadent and delicious!
Bestia is one of the best restaurants if you are looking to enjoy a handmade cocktail with friends or dinner with your partner. The service is amazing and the ambiance is spectacular. Hidden in the arts district, Bestia offers great value by being one of LA’s newest hot spot for Italian cuisine.
Amazing food. Amazing service.
This has been our favorite restaurant since the first time we came here in 2015. Big thanks to Evan and the rest of the bartenders tonight for another great experience!!!
Outstanding pork chops and gnocchi! The rest of the food and wine was good too. Love the vibe of this place- and the excellent service
Amazing as always!
It was the most horrible dining experience. I booked well in advance and was very much looking forward to dining at bestia, however, I was gravely disappointed. The food was plainly disgusting and the way that the manager reacted to the criticism was even more disappointing.
We have been going to Bestia for years, and never have we been disappointed by our experience there. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is always amazing.
The reputation is well deserved. However, the noise level is deafening. I will return making sure I request patio seating.
Ive been to Bestia several times and the latest time was the worst experience. The service was not good and they were out of 5 items on the menu (all of which we would have liked to order).
Impeccable service from knowledgeable staff.
Tomato salad - small but bursting with flavor and freshness. The acidity balanced the rest of the meal well.
Potato leek ravioli - beautifully prepared and good but underwhelming. I suppose leeks are not super favorful to begin with.
32oz bone in rib eye - exceptional. Charred on the outside, pink and so tender and juicy on the inside.
Chocolate budino tart - light and yet rich in flavor. The sweetness from the chocolate pudding was offset perfectly by the salt and olive oil. The brittle crust also provided a nice contrasting texture to the creamy chocolate.
Last but not least, the timing of dishes was perfect.
The food was very good and we were all surprisingly relieved when we saw the bill and realized it wasn’t as expensive as we thought it would be. It is VERY loud and difficult to talk but we didn’t really mind that vibe. The only hiccup was finishing 5 out of our 6 dishes and then waiting 45 minutes for them to bring out a pasta dish. It seemed rather odd, great pasta though!
awesome food and very good service ... highly recommended !
this was clearly a top five establishments in socal. The food was great. try the lamb neck, it was out of this world. the service was great also.they made recommendations and each was very good
Amazing place amazing food very creative menu very speacial place
This is my new favorite restaurant. Unbelievable and unique creations, a genuine sense of pride to work them amongst culinary and service staff, excellent value for a superb meal. Thank you!
Awesome experience! Took my wife out for a fun new dinner spot. Our server was great and walked us through the entire dining experience. He was very knowledgeable about the wine list and had some great recommendations. The quality of the food was excellent, flavors, quality, execution and presentation.
Looking forward to coming back
best meal I've ever had. celebrated my son's 18th there and when we arrived, hostess had read my note in my OT reservation and wished him a happy birthday. then the food started coming. our waiter was so helpful with suggestions as was the sommelier (sp?). tomahawk pork chop was the star of the night. just the best ever. if ever given the chance, go there and eat LOTS.
I loved everything about Bestia! The food was outstanding, the service impeccable, the ambiance and decor lovely! The only thing that will prohibit me from coming back for anything other than a rare special occasion is the exorbitant price and tiny portions! It's the first and only time I have ever left an Italian restaurant still hungry. It saddens me to say anything negative about this place but it's just too expensive.
Service is good
Waited 40 minutes even with reservation
Super noisy can’t have a conversation
It is vastly overhyped. All talks about how wonderful of a place it is, or how tasty the food is. It is mediocre, especially for the price point.
Me and my boyfriend celebrated his birthday here. I booked 2 months ahead in order to get a table and our reservation was at 9:45pm. Since my boyfriend wanted to try this place for a long time and I had to take this reservation even it’s late. It’s my second time here.
The food was good and very creative not like other traditional Italian restaurants. However, the their famous bone marrow didn’t taste as Good as before. Kinda disappointed. But other dishes were really good.
Atmosphere was really bad, very crowded and table was small, very loud music, full of noise in the restaurant.
Staffs were very attentive and service was great.
Overall it’s ok. I don’t think I will go back again in the near future.
Really good place to go if your out with friends and if one likes a busy environment. Service could be better, I had to wave down my waitress to get a second cocktail instead of her checking up on our table. She also didn’t check on our table throughout each course to see how everything was tasting.
Best restaurant in LA!
I read reviews of Bestia before making reservations and was excited to dine here. The overall experience was okay but I honestly thought the menu was not priced correctly (too expensive). Everything was good but the value wasn't there.
Please note, if you're gluten intolerant or a vegetarian, the menu is limited for people with allergies.
Excellent food. Simple and great tasting. Not covered up with condiments like garlic, pepper or other typical Italian spices.
Food was not amazing as expected, but ambiance was on point
Hip, trendy, loud, in a remote location, but worth the trip and excellent food. Has a fun, celebratory vibe.
Reserved a table same day through open table for 9:15pm on a Tuesday. Stopped by around 6pm to see if any seats were available for my date and I, and they seated us right away at the bar! Ordered the braised oxtail pasta dish, the dungenness crab spaghetti, and the spicy sausage pizza. Everything was DELICIOUS and the portion was perfect for 2 people. I also ordered their seasonal cucumber cocktail. The bartender gave great recommendations for food and drinks. Definitely need to come back to try the other dishes!!
Only dislikes were that they charged $1 pp for TAP water and $13 to open a bottle of THEIR OWN wine.
Everything I put into my mouth was the best thing ever.
Favorite restaurant! I highly recommend Bestia, they have never let me down!!
Fantastic food! Fantastic ambiance! And fantastic service!
