What Insiders Are Saying
For Italian in Los Angeles, it doesn't get any better than the Arts District's Bestia, This isn't dinner, it's an experience.
Disappointing. Not as flavorful or well-executed as expected. Great wine list. Knowledgeable staff. Gets many rave reviews - we’ll try it again.
One of the top 10 restaurants of any style in LA. One of the top three Italian Restaurants in LA. Always fresh, unique seasonal dishes, delicious, expertly prepared and plated. Consistent every time, 5:30pm or 11pm, Tue or Sat. We eat here every chance we get a rez.
From start to finish, our dinner experience was amazing. Everyone was friendly and made sure we had a great time. Not pretentious at all, and the food was phenomenal. 10/10 would go back.
The food was exceptional. Service was ok. Very loud in there, can't really hear your parties' conversations when the restaurant is full. They don't do anything special when it's your birthday.
Perfect for our small family celebrating mom’s birthday!
The food was very good and the service was outstanding. We started with the meat plate which was so good, then got a pizza which was better than other upscale pizza we have had in Los Angeles, ricotta dumplings and the crab pasta. The crab I felt was only ok, the dish lacked flavor in our opinion. We ended with the tomahawk pork chop which I’ve never seen before but was delicious. We were dining with our 11 month old at the 5pm seating and everyone was so accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be back. My only complaint was, and I know this is more of an adult restaurant, but there was no changing table in either restroom.
Amazing service since arrival. Hostess was quick to get us to our table. Food was out of this world. Bone marrow is a must have.
Great date spot. Came with my girlfriend for her birthday and we were so thrilled with the whole experience. Even though we had a late reservation, we didn't feel rushed to get pushed out of there. Great wine selection and the food was amazing.
Incredible! Must have the bone marrow, and the crostino's!!
Overall great experience. Our waiter provided great suggestions with timely service. This is a busy location, with good reason to be. If you don't like a crowded atmosphere, this place may not be for you, but if delicious food is what you're craving, this is an opportunity you do not want to miss. The meals here speak loud words, "simple ingredients, complex taste". Our choices for the night were provided by our waiter. In my opinion, nobody should know the menu better, as well as crowd favorites more so. He didn't disappoint. Service is what you would expect from a place with the price point, which was overall good. All in all, this is a top pick for foodies out there. Indulge your palate to the great taste of a very mindful menu.
- Pazzy out.
Food was good but steak was expensive for the value steak was just ok. it was too busy. And 4%on health insurance fee.
There are well made wines using great but not so well known grape varietals at lower prices which should be on offer. Charging $70+ for all wines is getting more common but it is not appreciated.
Everything was good. Service was mediocre. Not too much attention. Forgot drinks many times.
AMAZING BIRTHDAY DINNER from start to finish! The food is so thoughtfully and artistically done!
Probably one of the best meals I’ve had during my whole trip to LA (and I travel for the food). Service was excellent and always attentive, and food was fresh, original, and just made you want seconds. One of the best things we had was the mussels and clams dish; I really want to find out how to make that sauce—it was to die for! Overall, highly recommend it for anyone who wants good food and see a great group of talent at work in the kitchen and serving!
Love Bestia! Just a little too loud for my guests.
This was our second visit to Bestia and the food continues to impress! We had great food and wine but unfortunately the service kept getting in the way of the food and drink experience (basic server protocol like repeating back the order - due tot he loud environment) and saying what was about to be poured, could have avoided all of the issues we had while dining).
Awesome food and service! Cocktails were delicious.
Great ambience, great service
It was just whatevs. Food was mediocre, nothing stood out. I wouldn't go back.
Everyone was very attentive and our waiter made great suggestions. Food was fresh and it was quite an enjoyable meal. Would go back again! Whatever was in that sauce with the clams was amazing!!! It paired so well with the bread...we could not let that dish go without finishing up every last drop of the sauce. They were nice to give extra bread when we asked for some too. My stomach and heart are happy!
Food is always amazing!
Amazing every single time
Amazing meal! Great service and great food. I was really impressed with everything. Something that stood out to me was how the service team really worked as a team to make sure we were taken care of. Hats off to them and can't wait to dine here again at some point in the future.
Phenomenal ambience, food and service. We had the veal tartare, calamari, gnocchi and fagiolini. Order a bit of everything! If you're stuck between 2 things, get both. Looking forward to going back.
We had a fantastic experience. Our waiter was great and the food was phenomenal
I definitely recommend getting a reservation as they were packed. The hosts will accommodate any seating requests if you’re patient and there’s a full bar to wait at where the bar staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and fast. Once seated, I advise skipping the underwhelming appetizers and go straight for the pasta which may change your life. The cavatelli and the agnolotti were to die for. Finish it off with the chocolate tart! All of the server suggestions were 10/10 A+. I thought something was on fire when someone came sprinting at me during my meal but it was just the sommelier tending to me upon my last sip - I really appreciated his enthusiasm and agility! Overall amazing and perfect for pasta lovers, date nights, and catchups with friends. If you hate crowds and are claustrophobic, then order their takeout instead, Bestia is not to be missed. :)
Bestia is still my favorite restaurant in la. From consistent quality of delicious food to efficient service, it always delivers. My boyfriend enjoyed his birthday dinner. Thanks as always!
The food and experience were amazing!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!
It took us six months to get a reservation that worked for us; 9:15 on a Sunday evening. The only flaw in the evening was that they had run out of three of the four entrees by that time. Very frustrating. The service was flawless, the staff was attentive without being overbearing and the food was delicious.
I love going to Bestia but this time I was really disappointed in the menu which was just ok. They were out of Branzino and the charred broccoli which we wanted which was not good. The Ragu was just ok!
The worst was they charge for normal still filtered water - a dollar a glass - absolutely ridiculous.
Secondly it irritated me to pay the surcharge for their employee health plans. Can’t the restaurant pay this charge? It’s not as if it’s not expensive to dine there.
Really put us off.
Between the charge for glasses of water and the contribution to the Bestia health plan it’s like being nickled and dimed to death!
it was great
Great service front of the house and amazing talent at the Kitchen and Bar
This place was great! The food was delicious & the staff was friendly & helpful! Great spot for a date night.
Great food and excellent service
Great vibe.. perfect service and delicious cuisine. We loved it! Everything about it.
We had a really great meal. A few cautions: there's a pretty high noise volume. Many of the chairs are of the not-too-comfortable variety. It was cold the night we were there and it was chilly inside the restaurant so dress accordingly. Now, the good stuff! Our waiter was outstanding, relaxed, friendly and really knew the menu. We enjoyed every dish from appetizers to dessert. The plates are small, a good thing IMO, because it allowed for lots of variety. Oh, and the coctails, excellent! Salumi plate, marrow bones w gnocci, pizza, wonderful paste plates. You can't go wrong.
Great vibes and tasty food
Excellent food, service and vibes. Pasta was the best we’ve ever had but pizza wasn’t. We eat a lot of pizza and it was just alright. I wouldn’t say it’s the best but still tasty! Pasta though on the other hand, def one of the best dishes I’ve ever had was the fagiolini with pork.
It was my first worse experience. I went to celebrate my birthday with my friends. The server come nicely to our table and we were already to order food, so he took our order mean while we were drinking beers. After 15 minutes we got our first dish: a salad, then, after 40 minutes our server told us that the kitchen had a problem and they had to shout down the restaurant, so at the end we didn’t eat at all, I couldn’t celebrate my birthday as I planned but at least they got a desser from the house, which wasn’t good enough.
