My partner and I went to see a show in the Ace Theatre, so this was a natural choice. The restaurant space was lovely, and really captured the old-Hollywood look that is so fun in these old theaters. The food was fantastic -- it's not cheap, but you're not going there for an inexpensive meal. As a special-occasion restaurant, this was perfect. If you're seeing a show nearby, I would highly recommend it.

"Energetic" is being generous when describing the noise levels in this restaurant. Some efforts to figure out a damper situation in there should be made. We could barely hold a conversation at the dinner table because it was so loud in there, which was disappointing as we were there for a special occasion.

Service overall is very good for the restaurant. Our food was timed well, tasted great and was ultimately very satisfying although it would have been nice to know about the massive portions of the Pork Chop and also Steakfrites mains. A lot of food went to waste and we could have shared a main and had a few shared plates to offset this. I know the resto wants a higher per person item check but honestly, it was really disheartening to have to literally each throw away half our meals. We were sharing an Anniversary dinner at the restaurant and although the food was delicious, and the cocktails also wonderful and interesting, we did not receive our 10% off dining as guests of the hotel, and didn't have time to pursue it because we were trying to get to our show (Hannah Gadsby) at the ACE Hotel Theater.

Not sure if the coffee bar adjacent is part of the Best Girl family or not, but if it is, some efforts for more genial morning staff would be nice. Grumpy coffee barista at the register the next morning was a bummer.

Overall B+ rating. Kitchen staff are doing a great job, but the overall experience was a B+. Plan to spend around $200 for two adults who each have two adult beverages. We skipped dessert due to the time constraints. Would definitely return.

The food was just poorly cooked. I got steak frites, and the steak looked like it was boiled. It made me sick. But the good thing is that the server was great, and she took it off the bill with no problems. It was just a disappointing experience.

3 out of 4 entrees were fantastic, but the fourth was a pork Milanese without the sauce. Food delivery was erratic with a significant delay between the two appetizers and one salad was delivered about 10 minutes before the others. Manager did take the pork entree off of our bill.

Their smallish menu became downright meager since they didn't have 4 of the dishes available for us to choose from the night that we were there. The portions matched the menu in how small they were. Thankfully, we had some cold pizza available up in our room. Our server was great, so kudos to her.

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience recently. I believe that the night that you dined with us, we did have a few items that were off the menu but we had some specials in their place. We're transitioning into our summer menu right now. I'm going to send you my contact info privately, hopefully we can continue the dialogue and maybe have you back in at some point to give us another shot. Best, Brett General Manager

Sunday evening excellent time. $ 1 oysters a real treat. Burger was excellent...maybe a little thin...might have double next time. Sauce good and fries exceptional. Service from Michael excellent. He was able to advise regarding drinks and food. Brett very nice. He spent time and was very informative.
Even the parking attendants later in the evening were very nice and parking fee reasonsable.

Thank you.

Hands down one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Our waitress was rude and unhelpful. We were a group of 5 and ordered cocktails, and a bunch of food to share. The oysters we ordered were all old/had gone bad and sandy and we didn't finish them. The basked oysters were equally inedible. The gnocchi was severely overcooked and the steak was not prepared as ordered. The pork was the only really edible dish we had. Overall a HUGE disappointment.

However the decor is lovely.

Really not impressed. We had reservations for weeks, And we were seated at the worst table possible. Decent cocktails. The food was just not very good. Starting with $8 for bread and butter and they brought out burnt toast. We sent it back and it was replaced, but it had a freezer burned taste to it, which may be why they burned it in the first place. Steak frites was cooked correctly, but it didn’t taste like prime. Crab cake was a bit mushy, and the baked clams just tasted like bacon. Our server, when we saw her was lacking. Asked about the specials and she literally said “a salmon special.”

Thanks for the feedback, I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the crabcake. They are definitely on the pricier side, but it's all real high-quality crab meat which certainly adds to the cost. Next time you're in please say hi to myself or one of the other managers and we'd be happy to guide you to something on the menu you'll enjoy. Best, Brett General Manager

We went to have lunch before going to adjoining Theatre. the bar was comfortable as we were a little early, and bar server attentive & friendly - I liked the comfortable padded leather bar rail. When they showed us to our table it was the worst in the place (small even for 2 people against a large post), and there were other larger tables there were available. They did move us when we said something, but I wonder why we had to do that. After ordering we didn't see a server until when it was time for our check, we asked for some water too. The servers were just on the other side of the wall where we were sitting by the front desk, so they were very close to us. We could hear them chatting but we felt ignored. Didn't get up to the roof top bar which I hope to visit another time. Nice vibe but would've liked to have better service.

Good food - we did brunch - and some of the best Posole I have ever had. The rest can be hit and miss. Eggs Benedict (dropped eggs) were literally hard boiled. The Mortadella sandwich was good. Overall, convenient, good quality and good service. Kitchen can be slow. Will go again when I am there, but not a destination.

My friend and I both loved our brunch meal at Best Girl. My salad was great and his pancakes were fantastic. The space is really cool with some fun, yet subtle, art (just black and white drawings of random pop culture stuff). Unfortunately our server literally disappeared after taking our order. She also left a charge on our bill for a drink they couldn't serve me (due to a lack of ingredients). The manager and bartender both helped us out in the end, but we waited a really long time with no server in sight. If the service here shapes up as good as the food, it'll be a place worth visiting!

It was a comedy of errors. We went on Friday 5/17 at 7:30 pm. We were seated on the patio. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks. By this time we had finished our waters which were never refilled. While waiting for our drinks, we noticed multiple wrong orders being delivered to surrounding tables, orders that came out with the busboy asking every table if this was their order and finding no one. Drinks coming out that didn’t match any table and sat on side console.
Baked clams finally came and were very chewy. The famous BTU burger was nothing to write home about and my fries seemed to be from the bottom of the bag. Mostly potato bits with maybe 10 whole fries. Gnocchi was meh.
The restaurant began to clear out when the show at the Ace next door started but by this time wait staff seemed depleted and our own waiter never returned to our table. Finally, another waiter came around and asked us if we wanted the drinks that hadn’t found a home. We gladly accepted.
Perhaps this was an off night, but from the kitchen to the wait staff, they seemed wholly unprepared for a Friday night with two shows going on nearby.

Great service by all the employees. We were treated like VIP. Excellent good, had the BTU Burger and my boyfriend had the Pasta. The fries and burgers were mouth watering and the pasta was delicious as well, cooked to perfection. Wine selection by server was on point for what we wanted. I’ve to Best Girl for dinner and was very excited about returning and were hoping for an extensive menu for Easter Sunday. We were planning on arriving at 1 pm so I had called in advance to see whether the menu would be a brunch or lunch. We were told brunch/lunch. We arrived early (around noon) and the menu was clearly a breakfast menu. I ordered the avocado-cod dish and while it was delicious it was very skimpy, as it sat on one slice of bread. My husband had the buckwheat pancakes, good and plentiful, but not out of the ordinary.

We did not like anything about this restaurant. It was crowded, noisy, you are seated RIGHT NEXT to other people there so you get to hear their arguments and conversations, service was very slow and to top it all off everything we ordered was bad and overpriced. I ordered an ahi tuna appetizer which for some reason they paired with pinto beans and some kind of celery salad? The tuna was tasteless and it was just weird with the beans. My main course was the gnocchi which was overcooked and also didn't have much flavor. My friend ordered the steak and it was mostly fat, it seemed like only 1/3 of it was actual meat. The only thing I did enjoy here was the sour pale beer that came in a bottle. We hardly saw our waitress and every time we did she had some excuse as to why we hadn't seen her in a while. Even when the place cleared out we still didn't see much of her, and just handed her our credit card as soon as we did see her so we could pay our bill and get out of there without having to wait another 10 minutes for her to show up. We went to this restaurant because we were going to a show at the Ace so it was convenient, but next time we will make the extra trek and go somewhere else worth our time and money. We were so disappointed with this place, but at least the show we went to was good.

The unfortunate situation was that they ran out of one of the entrees, and they didn't mention it until they were serving the other entrees. we were rushing to a show. They graciously gave us a free appetizer as well as a neighbor discount, and a very large cookie...The staff are terrific.... The system just needs a tweaking. We will go back there.

I was a little nervous about this reservation, since the reviews were mixed. We came here before a show at the theater, and so the convenience won out (one valet fee at a reasonable price). The food and service were actually better than I expected based on past reviews. We had the house rose, oysters, bread, greens, the chicken and steak frites. All were delicious. The only down side, was that the space and tables are small, so it makes for a noisier less relaxed dining experience. The energy and vibe are fun, and I would definitely recommend for a more casual meal while in the area, or before a show.
