Draughty as front door didn’t close, a little run down with a pungent smell, tripped over loose tiles on toilet floor. Ran out of bread but food quite good
Fabulous pizza, excellent friendly service. A few more vegan options would have been ideal. The only real drawback was the cold - despite the curtain around the door, we were absolutely freezing. Someone had to hop up regularly and close the door properly after anyone entered or left. Not sure much could be done about that - it was probably the coldest night of the year.
The main problem was it was cold in the restaurant
The burrata pizza came as whole ball of cold cheese and therefore would have been better spread over the whole pizza as the pizza got cold too quickly.
Food in general was tasty
Food very good, basic Italian fresh and well done. Large choice of Pizzas but rest of menu is limited. Two of us had pasta dishes which were very good and portion size was perfect for us, may have been to small for those with a larger appetite.
Restaurant shabby and in need of an upgrade. It was a cold windy night had to ask to move tables as cold draft when door opened, which didn’t always close properly.
Would recommend for food but not the ambiance.
very small Portions and not sauce in the means too
Had to contact OpenTable to reinstate my reservation to give this review because the restaurant cancelled it as soon as we complained to them. It’s as though they’re trying to avoid honest criticism…
In summary: smelly dirty toilets, disappointing food, slow service. Overpriced for the quality they were serving.
“Beef tataki” was nothing as advertised. The sad portion of beef was over cooked and not seasoned at all. Salad was not fresh and lacked any dressing. When we asked for some olive oil and vinegar the server got rude and defensive to us until we made a point of how crap it was. Ravioli Cacio e Pepe stuffing was way too salty, and the pizza soggy with the overloaded sauce.
Save your money and go elsewhere for more authentic and better Italian. Chances are the waitstaff will try turn you away even though you may have a booking / there’s empty tables in the restaurant. Now I see why
Brilliant relaxed dining, amazing pasta and lovely staff!!
Experience was okay, we had pizza which tasted good but bases came out soggy. Service was good and staff were nice.
Beso had such a chilled atmosphere. The staff were delightful and the food was too good!! All We wanted to do was eat more… especially the panna cotta!
The pasta dish was tiny! More like a starter
The food is terrible, however arrives very quickly. Compare to the food quality the prices are horrendous
Service was poor. 40 minutes between starter and main.
Very limited menu
Very over priced for what it is.
Won’t be returning
The best calamari I’ve ever had. Great authentic place with great ambiance and service. Would recommend.
Delicious food and such speedy service - food arrived before I’d even returned from washing my hands!
Ideal for a pre-theatre meal :)
I went with a friend and had the salmon pasta. It tasted amazing and I really enjoyed it. I would come back here for a lunch time eat again.
Had to argue for a decent table after being brusquely told our reserved early evening table for four was right next to the main door which was constantly being opened and closed on a cold evening. We were eventually re-directed to a much better table but our 'welcome' left a great deal to be desired. Our food was ok but nothing special and I had to return a hot pasta main dish that was cold right through. The restaurant was pretty busy with people coming from and going to local theatres but calmed down after 7pm when diners started to leave for their shows. The few staff working the floor were trying their best and one in particular was a star but overall our experience is not one we would care to repeat or recommend to others.
Really nice Italian, good food, good atmosphere. Would definitely go again and perfect for a quick bite to eat before going to Shaftesbury Theatre, which is 5 mins away.
Very busy but service was good. Authentic Italian food.
Ok meal, seemed quite chaotic service wise - nothing special
Lovely staff! Thanks for all the recommendations Emily :) Food was really delicious too
Really friendly staff & lovely pizza. Great evening.
Very buzzing pizzeria at the heart of Covent Garden, stunning sourdough pizzas, fresh ingredients, very thin base with crunchy crust, authentic Neapolitan pizzas, great value, good service highly recommend it.
The restaurant smelt very bad when we entered, like damp or a wet dog. The pizza was soggy and the salmon pasta was flavourless. Don’t recommend.
Good food, good service and a good night - thank you!
I dined at beso in their outdoor area it is a great corner in Covent Garden on Neals street, very vibrant ambiance and the food was excellent, delicious sourdough pizzas, the salami picsnte was my favorite, ravioli with black truffle was sublime, very good value wines and great service. Will visit again.
I was surprised that after dining they cancelled my OpenTable booking. I believe because their service was so poor on that evening they didn’t want a review. The Burrata tasted like Mozzarella, they brought meat dishes when we’d ordered vegetarian, the food was actually good once the correct dishes arrived. The one female toilet was blocked and overflowing all evening with the staff doing nothing to rectify. If they change the service staff this could be a great little restaurant.
We chose Beso for my daughter’s 11th birthday meal - she loves Italian food and I don’t like to slum it! We have Italian family and have holidayed in Italian for many years, so have high expectations when it comes to Italian food. The food at Beso didn’t disappoint, her Ragu was delicious, my ravioli with shaved truffle was awesome, as was the tiramisu. Other members of our party had pizzas which they really enjoyed. The food was authentic, simple and incredibly tasty.
On top of that the service was great - with energetic and helpful members of staff. We will be back!
Been so many times
Staff are so friendly and the food is absolutely incredible
Get yourself to beso!!
Opentable bookings for specific seating; eg outdoor seating is not correctly communicated to Beso
The food was just out of this world. Real hone made pasta
Brilliant pre theatre
Amazing all round!
Lovely restaurant. Food was served extremely quickly
Good pizza, close to the busy road so good for everyday dining not really for a romantic dinner.
The outside dining was very poor. You were literally dining on the street in the way of pedestrians. Once our order was placed it was at the table in minutes which is never a good sign as clearly not made from scratch. Had to send my sweet back as it was inedible. Toilets were disgusting
We were booked for 5:30 on Friday. Arrived at 5 hoping to get seated as we were desperate for wine, we got seated no problem. The staff were all so lovely and accommodating.
The food was beaut, especially the pizza and great wine.
Obviously we were only able to sit outside luckily the weather held out and even if it was chilly we would have been fine as the heaters are super Powerful so we kept warm.
The only thing that let the restaurant down was the blocked ladies toilet and it smelt pretty bad which was so unpleasant
Apart from that one thing would 100% return again.
Fabulous food and service!
Tables were set up inches away from each other "to get as many people under the heaters as possible because they'd double booked them". Food was just okay - carbonara pizza was disappointing.
excellent Italian restaurant, one of the best Neapolitan pizzas in London, sublime, authentic and delicious.
