Best epic meal we have had in a year or more. Everything was spot in and excellent. We go out all the time and grade pretty hard, still better than expected.

Restaurant week menu was fabulous, Including goat empanada and the skirt steak was so tender and flavorful. I always get sweet plantains. Our friends got the ceviche made with halibut as an appetizer. As always the service, drinks and food was exceptional!!!

We arrived with a reservation and did not get seated right away, but instead overpaid for a less than ideal pisco sour (I lived in south america and know what a good one tastes like). We were eventually seated after watching 2 other parties enter the restaurant and get seated before us. Once we were finally waited on, the service was lackluster. We would get the food, then 5 or 10 minutes later get an explanation about the ingredients and pairing. She would ask 'did someone explain the ingredients to you?' as if someones else was supposed to do that. We noticed the appetizer had the same chimichurri sauce as the entree which seemed a little ridiculous considering the high end experience that was advertised. Overall I think there is potential for this restaurant, but I was not impressed with the overall experience and unenthusiastic staff.

It appeared that there was a new chef that either did not understand how to prepare the menu dishes, or
did not care. At one point he walked out of the kitchen in a huff and then returned to the scene of his crime. Our initial appetizer never came out of the kitchen and we were told that it was below standards. To their credit, they comped another appetizer that was very good (Pork Belly). Our server was visibly
embarrassed, but she was very professional in trying to satisfy our dining experience. The Paella was sub par (again, the chef's lack of experience with this dish) and it tasted like the spices were all wrong. This was very unfortunate for our server as she tried very hard to appease us through this disappointing dinner and should not be assessed any blame for this below average experience.

Paella was awful. I was so looking forward to a great paella, which all of the reviews said they had. Made with smoked paprika instead of saffron and very expensive. Appetizer failed in the kitchen, so we did not get what we ordered and ordered something else. They did comp the appetizer and served fried plantains complementary while we waited. I would not return this this restaurant!

Food is ambitious but unfortunately misses on what the descriptions promise. Just because you can make a powder out of interesting ingredients, doesn’t mean you should.

Nice looking place, but wasn’t quite as good as we hoped for. We were seated up front near the bar, which was attractive, but had a low ceiling and was pretty noisy.

Drinks were delicious, but very expensive. Restaurant week menu had a great appetizer and entree, but a bizarre and very salty dessert.

The grilled octopus was over seasoned, and way too salty. And one person ordered a cubano and got a kid’s grilled cheese instead. By the time his meal arrived, the rest of us were almost done.

Overall, just ok and expensive..$240 for four of us, one drink each.

This is our favorite restaurant in Steamboat. Great for sharing small plates. The shishito peppers, the vegetarian paella, and the short rib empanadas. You can't go wrong here!

We went to Besame for happy hour and it was fantastic. Great food, great cocktails and great wine all for happy hour prices. The food is really flavorful and there is tons of variety on the menu. We will be going back next weekend to try more dishes!

This was an excellent foodie experience.

My only complaint was the service. It took 20 minutes before we were greeted by our server. She was nowhere to be found. The host (which I believe was one of the owners) finally took our drink order. It was 25 minutes after we were seated that we finally got our drinks. Once our server engaged, the rest of the evening went very smoothly.

I would go back again and again, assuming this slow start was an anomaly.

The food was amazing and the drinks were great as well.

Our second time here, such a great menu and venue. We tried some different small plates this time and were pleasantly surprised again. Even the grilled brocholli is amazing. Our favorites are still the elote and the octopus. Nice selection of wines by the glass.

Food was even better than I remembered. Had the ceviche and it was excellent, the sweet plantains were great and the beef short ribs are to die for. Two of our party had the baby back ribs and we got one bite because they really didn’t want to share the goodness with us. Service as always was excellent and the wine from Portugal was a great choice. It’s easy to understand why they’ve been invited to NYC to the James Beard competition...I hope they win !!!

The only critique we have was that the bar service for drinks was very slow. As a big group for a bachelorette party we were ready to have more than 1 or 2 drinks dinner but with the slower drink service, we didn’t get past that.

Otherwise, the wait staff and food was wonderful !

Food: Outstanding although most of what we ordered seemed to be spicy. It would have been nice to have more of a variety.
Drinks: Most were good outside of the Hop-O-Loma. It was just weird and not good. The flavors didn’t mesh.
Service: Service was fine outside of communication with the bar. All the white wines we tasted were warm. It took them too long to bring us a bottle so we scratched it for two glasses, which were also warm.
With a few tweaks this place could be outstanding.

First let me say the server was great - I had read previous reviews and was quite excited to dine here on our vacation. The food selection was not great - everything was the same - no diversity- the octopus we had was mushy and I felt like they tried to cover up everything with a lot of spice. My Pisco Sour was terrible (which was quite disappointing as I loved them in Peru) as was my husbands cocktail.
Kids eat free here before 6pm and while our reservation was for 7pm, the place was loaded with families - probably why the kitchen was so backed up
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone

Our second time dining at Besame, fantastic cocktails both times, warm welcomes and slightly more engaged service this time, the small plates are where it's at! Get the ceviche!, get the street corn!, we mixed it up quite a bit, shared everything including the paella which had great depth of flavor! All the food was bright, well-executed and the components/flavors could be picked out of each dish, nothing was muddied or insipid. It takes skill to execute food like this at this level, a knowledge of flavor building in a dish and the food at Besame is truly well-executed!

Wow! This place is amazing! Octopus and short rib tapa are to die for! The speciality cocktails are amazing and their happy hour discounts are tremendous!!! Highly recommend. Very cool vibe. I cannot wait to go back!

We were disappointed that the menu had changed from 2 weeks before. We LOVED the short rib appetizer. It no longer existed.

Besame is my favorite restaurant in Steamboat. The menu is very extensive - there is something for everyone. Every single dish seems to be fresh, unique and so delicious. I think the hardest part is deciding which ones to try. We've tried the octopus, Brussel sprouts, pork belly, pickled vegetables, potatoes, ceviche, paella, lamb burger ... So many naturally gluten-free options. Can't say enough about this place. Outstanding food and reasonable prices. I look forward to the next visit!

I found a bolt in my entrée, yes, a bolt! The owner apologized and and gave me a free cocktail... and that’s it. Didn’t cover the bill for our table of two or even that plate. We’re understanding people and all was fine until we got the check... A f%#* BOLT and still full price.

This was beyond unacceptable. I’m a local and go here because the food and cocktails are good. Though this experience was unprecedented, it is not the first time I have had terrible service. They have previously refused to cut off the corn from the cob for a friends kid, broke a glass and just swept it into the corner, and made me the wrong drink and made me pay for the correct one.

Never giving this restaurants management another cent. So unfortunate.
