A good restaurant for an informal meal. The wait staff was very friendly, very helpful.
Great location. Food is very good. The pizza is top notch and the appetizer sampler is very good. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner.
I often visit Bertucci’s for lunch (few blocks away from work). I signed up for their newsletters and received a 20% off deal so I decided to have dinner there, group of 10. Unfortunately this was the first time I experienced rude service. I first walk in and ask a staff member where should I proceed if I had a reservation. She just stares at me, so I ask again but she continues to stare then finally points to downstairs (upstairs was the bar). The staff member downstairs was quick and sat us down. It took a while for our waitress to greet us, turns out it was the same lady as upstairs (shocker). Drinks and food was delivered within a decent time. NEVER saw the waitress again! We had to search for her. Not once did she check on us. It was a rainy night with barely anyone at the restaurant so there’s NO EXCUSE. Finally asked for the check and instead of splitting the check she put it all together, which we mentioned from the beginning. I proceed to find her to tell her and she almost argues with me about it so I walked away. In the heat of it all I forget to tell her about the 20% off. So when she brings the split checks I tell her about it and she gives a stare and huffs. It took everything in me not to snap at her (thank goodness for toddlers). Very disappointing dinning experience. I was a waitress so I understand the ins and outs but the attitude from the beginning was uncalled for and she set that tone. I definitely won’t order from her again.
Horribly slow service.Disinterested and uncaring staff everywhere.believe the reviews and low rating and don’t bother coming here.
Good value for the money. Their endless salad offer is real and a good deal.
The restaurant was closed. They did not notify me. They had my phone and email from open table.
Consider Bertucci's a reliable "also ran." Opted for it this time because we needed a spot and I knew it would be reliable. Nothing special but an OK choice with reliable food. The location is slow. It took over five minutes for bar service (a glass of house wine) and coffee at dessert. How long does it take to draw a cup of coffee? Food was fine, nothing to write home about. Friday evening and the dining room was not busy. Nothing to complain about, but nothing particularly noteworthy either.
Arrived at 12:50 for lunch and departed at 2:30 PM. Service was horrible. Waited 10 minutes to clean a table so I can be seated. Then waited 5 minutes for someone to come around and take drink order. Waited another 5 minutes for drinks to come, then waited another 5 minutes for the server to take our order. We slowly watched people leaving, and we finally received our food at 1:59 PM. Only a handful of people remained in the in the seating area on the lower level. I only ordered spaghetti and my friend got an appetizer. Worst service I ever experienced!
We've eaten here before, but on this visit nearly all aspects were disappointing.
- Service was incredibly slow, even though the restaurant was very lightly populated. We indicated at the start that we had theater tickets in 90 minutes, but we barely made our show, and only after we had to chase our waitress for the check.
- Despite the fact that I indicated that we had a handicapped person in our party when I made the reservation earlier in the day, when we tried to depart, we discovered that the elevator was out of service and had been all day (we arrived through the garage, but had to go to a different exit to reach the theater). The staff did call the manager over. We asked about using a freight elevator, but he seemed completely disinterested in helping. His response: "I'm not an engineer."
- Also, though I had noted that it was a birthday when making the reservation, staff never acknowledged the fact. And because the service was so slow we had no time to have dessert to celebrate.
A big disappointment all around. We won't be coming back again.
Food was great, lots of bold flavors. I put in the reservation that it was a birthday celebration but it went unnoticed, not a big deal but it’s the first time it happens. It took a bit of time to get our server’s attention to get the check but other than that, she was superb! Definitely want to come back!
Had a very good tme. John the manager was very knowledgeable and helpful. Good food and wine!
Mediocre, beyond loud, can't think of anything good about this place.
The food and drink at Bertucci’s is always great! It’s tasty, made to order, and there’s something for everyone in our family (this time we had pastas and salad). We’ve always made a point of going here when we are in DC and usually we have good service. There are some knowledgeable and friendly servers, but we didn’t get one of them on this last visit. Our waitress NEVER brought our appetizer and never gave my husband the drink he ordered...she gave him water instead...even after admitting it wasn’t the right drink. Not sure if she was new or not, but she seemed very confused, never apologized, never gave us a chance to question what happened with the app or drink, and didn’t really seem to care. The only plus for service was that she didn’t charge us for the app or any drinks! However, we would’ve rather gotten what we wanted and ordered!!! Despite this experience, we’d still recommend Bertucci’s because their food is yummy!
Service was bad and took way too long, the food was decent but not anything great. Probably won’t be back.
Food flavor was excellent, but all arrived cold. Took 15 minutes after being seated to even be acknowledged and another 30 minutes before the food came out.
Recipes are great, but timing and staffing are obviously a huge issue. Lots of dirty tables, only half the tables were actually seated, staff running around like chickens but not actually doing anything.
This was a truly awful experience. We had 1 hr and 15 min prior to our show, we thought “pizza and pasta should be safe”. We sat, and sat, watched other tables get up and leave, I think they had two servers for the whole restaurant. we got the food after an hour, woofed it down. Ugh, never again!
Also, one of these wines was $4 more, their “a little more” special.
Horrid service and the food was underwhelming. The only good thing that they going for them is the bread.
Food was low quality. Felt fast food-like and tasteless.
Slow service. Nice manager and staff. Just slow.
It was a slow evening yet service was terrible. We were a group of 10 - 5 adults, 5 kids between 6 and 10 years old. Food took forever. Adults received food first. Drinks were slow to be delivered and we had to repeatedly ask for items not delivered. Enjoyed our friends and the spacious restaurant but the staff needs more support/training.
We assumed this was an Italian restaurant requiring a reservation. It is a place for college students inside a mall-like building. We went in through the bar which had a small number of tables which had not been cleared and had one couple at the bar. We walked down the stairs past the dining room- no people. Then into the area by the brick oven. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Food ok - but nothing special.
Fun place to eat. Very attentive service. Took care of my vegan daughter nicely.
Our server, Carolina, was great. The food was pretty good, although my eggplant was a bit salty for my taste. Otherwise a perfectly fine experience.
We had salads and pizza. Salad was very good (somewhat large which was a little peasant surprise) and pizza was good. Waitress and staff were nice. Atmosphere was average. Good for a dinner with family on vacation if you don’t want to wait for a table at the other restaurants in the area.
