Bertucci's - Hazlet

I think our waitress was high. She couldn’t focus, she seemed confused and looked like she was going to bring us bread twice. It was weird. She kept disappearing and couldn’t track her down when we needed her. She could make eye contact or complete sentences properly. Food wasn’t very good either. Very boring. We won’t be back.
We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience and value your feedback. We will be sure to share this experience with our staff in an effort to improve future guest experiences.
Compared to other Bertucci's we've frequented over the years, I'd say this wasn't a favorite. The service was excellent. No complaints there. The warehouse-style ceilings made it much louder than others, but I could see past that. Our pizza was pretty flavorless and way overcooked. Looking back, I should have said something to the waitress, but we were hungry and pressed for time. If we ever go back, I'll be sure to ask that the pizza not be so well cooked. This is the only Bertucci's near us now. Two others we loved have closed.

The Open Table reservation for a party of 7 was useless, as we weren’t seated until 20 minutes after the reservation time. Regardless of that, it was very clear that the majority of staff were inexperienced and inadequately trained. This was evident from the brusque reception we received at the hostess station and the very slow and disorganized waitstaff throughout the establishment. No manager was evident and had I been approached, they’d probably have received an earful.
Our waitress was clearly unfamiliar with the menu and seemed totally confused. Drink orders took an inordinate amount to be filled. After the rest of the table was served, I waited 20 minutes for iced tea, only to be told when I inquired that they “had just run out.” I then waited another 15 minutes for the wine for which I had opted. The entire operation was a mess and a district or regional manager should look into the poor training issue and disorganization.
The ONLY redeeming aspect of the visit was the meal itself. Everyone in my party seemed happy with their meal, and we enjoyed the 3 appetizers we all shared. For me, I had ordered the mushroom & prosciutto risotto. I found this to be excellent and enjoyed it throughly. Obviously, the only staff that knew what needed to be done was the kitchen staff and they redeemed this visit for us.

Great food . Great dinner spot before or after movies in Hazlet too.
Carlene, we are happy to hear how much you enjoy dining with us at Bertucci's! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
Bertucci's is one of my favorite restaurants. We were upset when the one by Woodbridge closed. Now we travel 35 minutes, every now and then to eat at the Hazlet location, but it's worth it. The bread is so good!!! We always order the Tuscan chicken. We love it. I've had the fettuccine Alfredo, chicken parmesan and chicken Marsala. All very good. Food is good, service is good...can't go wrong at Bertucci's!
We are happy to hear how much you enjoyed your meal with us! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
Although some of our party was late in arriving, our server was accommodating insuring we had drinks and took our orders pending the arrival of other guests. The server was excellent as was food. We miss the Bertucci site in Woodbridge but we pleasantly surprised by the Hazlet restaurant.
Thank you for taking the time to share such complimentary feedback about our team. We look forward to serving you again soon!
Food was just ok

We had a party of six. Two did not get their food until the others had finished eating. It was very busy and the manager was making pizzas himself clearly trying to mitigate the problems. He did come over and remove two pizzas from the bill however the night was ruined. To top it off, my niece who is celiac became very ill even though she ordered an item marked as gluten free. The chaotic kitchen scene no doubt contributed to this.
Our server was awesome! Food was good!
Our go-to place for last 18 years!! We dine here with the family, colleagues and social groups, not to mention the super easy takeout orders.
Ok for a chain restaurant usually pretty consistent last time we visited the service was less than great.
It’s a chain restaurant so not much to add here. Service was pleasant. Crowded with families with your kids. Pizza was good. Rest of food had little flavor.
While not gourmet dining the food is very good with large portions and reasonable prices. We have been to Bertucci’s a few times and we would recommend it and will return.
Great pizza - but I miss the Ultimate Bertucci Pie. It's just an expensive night out for 4 people for pizza. And we don't even drink anything harder than soda.
Good fast service, delicious pizza. Courteous attendants, will return.
The staff is very nice. The food came out quick and hot.
Open Table got us right in even though there was a line of people. <3 that! It was the first Friday of Lent so the kitchen was not up to par. My son's pasta and vegetables were tasteless, my fish was dry, but my husband's risotto was excellent. We told them about my son's meal (which went untouched) and they took that off the bill. The service was really friendly and we didn't fault them seeing as it was a super busy night. I have had many good meals there, so I would definitely still recommend them.
It wasn't what we expected, but it was ok.
We go there for the wood burning oven pizza, but their entrees are great, too. The place could use a refurbishment, but the food and service are great.
Valentine’s Day, it was very busy, everybody that work there was just trying to help out all the tables. They did very well with using teamwork.
Salad and dessert were excellent. Dinners were disappointing. Perhaps it was the valentine date. I had ordered shrimp rossini a couple of weeks ago and it was excellent. When I got the same dish this time it wAs very different. There were no whole grape tomatoes. The spaghetti seemed to have a more tomato type sauce and tasted like it had been made ahead and the previous time I had ordered the sauce was much better and I believe was a linguini. My husband also did not like the spaghetti with his chicken parm.
The food was great and so were the food runners. It was just the waitress who was horrible. Not a smile, very unfriendly. Didn’t give silverwerare. We had to ask and had to wait for it even when our appertizers were already out. I had to ask for more napkins theee times before I finally for them. And we did the Valentine’s Day special. She brought us our check without even offering if we wanted dessert, which was included in the package we had told her we were going to do. She definitely should not have been working there, especially at 630 on a Saturday night.
I haven’t been to your Resturant so. A while. I have to admit the quality isn’t is good as it used to be. Pizzas used to be the best. Too much sauce , crust is to mushy. Also mussel apps didn’t taste fresh. The chicken piccata was best dish Also bathrooms were filthy. It’s a shame what happen to you guys? I will give one more try. Management needs to pay attention to detail.
Great for kids!
Pizza was delicious as well as the salad and soup. Very good waiter
Nice menu for a quick meal located by the local movie theater! Pizza is very good!
Expensive food for low quality/taste. My table of 7 got all different meals, mostly chicken entrees. They were all expensive, not piping hot, and mediocre in taste. We did see tables around us getting pizzas so maybe we just made the wrong choice! Our server was great. Definitely won’t be returning.
Since I have been diagnosed with being gluten intolerant I found this place to have the best gluten free pizza in the area. I really look forward to going back soon.
A gluten intolerance shouldn't stop you from enjoying some yummy pizza, we're glad to be able to provide that for you! We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Food was not as good as it usually is.
Really good food. It did take about 35 mins for us to get our meal which I found to be a long time.
We dined at Bertuuci’s Hazlet because it was close to the movie theater. Not our typical dining experience. Very loud atmosphere made it difficult to have a conversation. For us much too bright. We prefer lower light ambience.
Great pizza and wine!
My friend is handicapped and the two spaces were filled, and they were off to the side and hard to find, there were 3 spaces right in front of the door that were reserved for take out orders. they were all 3 empty.
I also am disappointed that an 18 meal does not include a small salad, would have had to pay $3.50 extra for that. Food tasted good though, good family place not a good date place due to noise level.
The burrata bruschetta summer special was particularly good this last visit! We have been a few times and some things are good and others mediocre but in general we like the place and come back every so often. We enjoy the bread every time!
Waitress service was non existent. I had to get her attention every time we needed her and she walked by.
They served our food and never realized they were one entree short. I had to track down the manager to ask about my wife’s meal which the waitress never put the order in for.
They brought her meal out in 5 minutes after they realized the mistake but it was not cooked and not edible.
The manager was very nice and did try to do the right thing by giving us 50% of the meal and a card to get 2 free entrees next time we come back. However, after this experience and with better options around not sure we will try again.
Food was good. Wine was expensive, the "house" wine was $9 glass when often that is the cheapest wine offered. Server was pleasant.
Tasteless "food". Pasta is basically soup. Basically like a low grade diner with an Italian flair.
