Great food and service, even brought us a dessert for our special occasion
My girlfriends and I went out for one of our birthdays. She had not been there ever in 78 years living in San Diego. She enjoyed it thoroughly. All three of us are disabled and is in a wheelchair and I put that in my notes and they had everything set up for us like that’s just the way it should have been. They took our picture, they were just right there and we enjoyed every single moment and it was an experience that I personally will never forget. Thank you for the wonderful day the dining room and kitchen staff provided.
I had the Filet and it was perfectly cooked and one of the best I have ever tasted. My wife had the pork chop that was recommended by our waiter and it was fantastic! Also had the Peas and Shrimp Risotto as a side, excellent. Of course you can't beat the view. I will definitely be going back.
We were celebrating a bday it was relaxing and enjoyable ..it was our first time there
A little too pretentious for my taste. Beautiful view of downtown, but the food was only 'good'.
Amazing place with a beautiful view, romantic atmosphere and good food! Love it! Thank you so much! Now it’s just one of my favorite places in San Diego, that everyone should visit
This was my first time being there , great location , amazing view, food was delicious
I parked valet it was nice too .
one thing really bothered me which that was the reason I was there for my girlfriend’s
b day celebration . Not that I’m expecting free food or anything just to mention Happy b day that would’ve been nice , But not even that ! That’s all
I love this restaurant! We had a wonderful table but the window for our brunch. Yummy Pomegranate Mimosas to start with sweet & savory pastries. My friend had the spinach omeley which she loved. I had the poached egg benedict which was prepared perfectly. Our server David was excellent and very attentive. His busser Daniel made sure we had plenty of water and checked with us on occasion. This is and has always been my favorite restaurant in San Diego. I also want to mention the lovely hostess but I didn’t get her name. Arnold the Valet took great care of our luxury vehicles.
We loved our brunch experience at MA’s! I highly recommend dinning her for not only the food but for the amazing view of San Diego!
Wonderful St Patrick’s Day Birthday for my wife.
Chose Mister A’s to propose to my fiancé and we were not disappointed. It was our second time dining here and the food was amazing. The views of downtown San Diego are breathtaking which made for the perfect backdrop for the proposal. Our server was kind enough to take video and photos of the entire thing and they brought complimentary glasses of champagne to our table. This experience along with our prior one have led us to make this restaurant a must visit when we are in town.
Great service. Well paced courses. Kitchen shoes considerable skill in preparation of meal. I was hopeful going in, and impressed after dinner.
Our server Matt was great. Staff was attentive but not intrusive. Always great place to celebrate a special occasion. Quiet and perfect place to meet friends of business lunch/dinner.
My Husband and I have been up and down the California coast for years trying really good restaurants, and this was by far one of the best. The service was unpretentious but perfectly attentive. The whole staff truly came across as enjoying their jobs, and coworkers . The food was elegant, but not forced. The history of the restaurant, and its view, was an added feature but not a distraction or excuse. My only regret is that I don't live closer so I can return sooner.

Food was very good and adequately priced. I had the sea bass that was seared to perfection. The Mac n cheese seemed a bit plain but at the end of the day it's Mac n cheese. You can't expect too much from Mac n cheese. The fois grois was some of the best I've had. I highly recommend that.
My only concern is their dress code policy. They do not specify that you need a collared shirt on the website but they will remind you that it is part of their policy when you arrive. This made us uncomfortable since the dinner was a surprise for my brothers bday and it made him the most uncomfortable. We checked ahead on the website but it didn't specify. Honestly I think dress code policies like this are dated and will ultimately lead to a lack of business for the establishment. Most hot new restaurants focus more on presentation, service and menu rather than what their customers are wearing.
The notes on the menu referencing the service charge were a political intrusion into our meal. Prices should be raised rather than making political statements on a menu with a surcharge that blames workers for a basic wage increase. I would gladly pay higher prices for menu items knowing that the laudable service provided by the staff at Mr. As guaranteed a decent, livable wage. I would encourage you to remove the surcharge and do what all great AMerican businesses do - change and thrive.
You get what you pay for!!! The quality of the food and service is fit for a king and queen!
I dare you to find a better view at any place else in the world!! It’s amazing. If you want to impress or appreciate your guests this is THE place. Never disappointed!!
The paella was not good but the view and service made up for it. I don’t think I would recommend this place to anyone because the food was not tasty and I wouldn’t be able to recommend a dish.
All went fantastic. From us getting there getting seated, getting served i just cant have any negative thoughts with this place. Server is knowledgable with all the food in the menu and very friendly
Taking customers to dinner
What a spot! Great food, expensive but worth the price. Fancy dress required, they frown on jeans but tolerate them. A collared shirt and slacks is a good option. jacket also works. For women, a nice dress is always appreciated. Anthony our waiter was great. Scott the sommelier was fantastic and offered some great selections of French wine that we loved.
Had an amazing table by the window with views of the city and planes landing. Fun spot in the summer as they open the outside patio for dining, I suggest requesting the patio as it is hard to get.
The restaurant has a fantastic view of both the city and planes in final approach, and that's most of the reason I chose it. It's a fairly basic menu, but they do it quite well! We had six dishes and a dessert between four people for lunch and weren't disappointed with any of them. The shady-seeming thing about the restaurant was their pricing methods. There was a marked 4% service fee on the menu, which was no big deal, but seems unnecessary maybe? It's not like people aren't going to tip, and I sure did - we liked our servers quite a bit. But then the egregious thing was that they charged us $52 for water. This was not on the menu and they didn't even crack the bottles before refilling our glasses or anything to indicate that they were charging us by the bottle... of water. And it seemed like they were refilling every table with the same bottles.
The whole experience was amazing from the food to the service (especially our server, David).
We always enjoy Mr. A’s. The food is wonderful, the service is impeccable and the view is amazing.
Everything was perfect! Great table, excellent food and amazing service! Thank you!
Well prepared food. Mushroom soup of the day was not too creamy, well balanced and the wild mushrooms added an earthiness. Crab cakes were all crab and not overly spiced. This allowed the taste of the crab to dominate. King salmon cooked medium rare, delicate and accompaniments were nicely balanced
Great food, great view, great ambience. But the service was much too fast for a restaurant that tries to be elegant.
It was my son’s birthday and we experienced fabulous night.
Mister A’s was a great place for Sunday brunch in San Diego! We enjoyed the view, food and service and would highly recommend a visit here!
Seated in the very corner of the “B” room. What makes it the “B” room, the view. I do recommend a trip to the outdoor terrace after Dinner.
Best restaurant in San Diego! My wife and I got married there and 3 1/2 years later they still remembered us and made us feel very special. Thank you to the whole staff for an amazing dinner.
Excellent food and service. Just overpriced.
Food seemed to be mass produced
On Valentine's Day I chose Mr As for the special occasion. We were 15 minutes late due to terrible traffic. They were very accommodating. The atmosphere was good, but busy. Service was great. The food was very good, but I think it was not representative due to the holiday and the amount of people there. All in all, I'd say A-
The evening was wonderful in every way. The Valentine’s prix five dinner was sumptuous. The choices were exquisite and our plates were delicious. The service could not have been more attentive. The drinks were as ordered. And, of course, the view is the best in the city.
For Valentine’s Day we had a memorable evening with the service, attentive staff and waitress. The food supreme and of course the view was amazing overlooking San Diego and watching the planes land against a clear skyline.
Excellent service, food was good, excellent view, The view makes the price a neutral!
Superb. The only experience like it in San Diego. If you want a top notch kitchen, highly competent old world service and a splendiferous view, try Bertrand at Mister A’s. They also have covered valet parking.
Best Valentine’s Day we’ve ever had!!
A classic San Diego restaurant with spectacular views of the city. Great food and atmosphere.
